Overall installation went very well. Had to have metal conduit repainted to better match the color of my roof tiles. If I had the option to have it done ago in I would have preferred to have the conduit run under the roof eaves rather than over the roof itself.

From the time I spoke to tell representative until the time they finished, I was in the loop. They were very honest and wanted me to know everything that was going on...

From the beginning of the process until now SVSS was very professional and prompt at returning my calls or e-mails. I looked at 8 different companies and decided on SVSS. I have no regrets on my decision and look forward to a long lasting relationship.

I could not be more pleased with my experiences with Sun Valley Solar. The crews were punctual and very professional. Their work exceeded my expectations. They followed the schedules. They handled all of the bureaucratic issues.

The sales man was very informative, helpful in our decision of the correct size (number of panels) to use. The installers were efficient and courteous. When I showed them an installation on a neighbors house and what I did not like about the neighbor's installation, he said that SVSS did not install anything in that looked like that--AND THEY DIDN'T. The insall crew even painted any electrical conduit required to match the point of attachment without my asking them to do so. I have recommended SVSS to several friends and neighbors.

The entire process is quite lengthy, but they were right up front about everything from the beginning. I'd say the entire process took approximately 4 months from the initial consultation until the system was commissioned. SVS handled everything which made things much easier for me. They dealt with the HOA, the City of Buckeye, APS etc.... They kept me in the loop via email from start to finish...the communication was excellent throughout the entire process. Tom Lamey was great to deal with, and the crew that installed the system were very polite, professional, and did had everything done in a day and a half. I'd highly recommend SVS.

The entire sales, scheduling and construction process couldn't have gone better. The only frustration for me was the length of time it took APS to commission my system. This was not Sun Valley's fault, APS commissioning was completed within the time-frame Sun Valley indicated it would take, I was just impatient!

The total process (signing of contract to turn-on took 95 days). Every phase of the process went extremely well. The installers were very professional. SVSS was very responsive to my phone calls. But; best of all, the system is producing more KWH's than forecasted by SVSS. This can only be contributed to the quality of Sun Power panels; which I believe are the BEST. Another great feature of the product is the ability of the owner (me) to see the performance of the system on my computer at any given time. The system is monitored by SVSS and Sun Power to ensure it's working properly, and you (the home owner) have access to to this monitoring system. My one advise to anyone considering a Solar System is too ask a few simple questions. Who is the panel manufacture? What is the efficiency of the panel? (Sun Power is 20% or more; while most others are 14% to 16%). Who is the manufacturer of the Inverter? if the answer is; we buy panels from several manufacturers, and the same with the inverter, I would recommend you keep looking.

After meeting with the sales people they took measurements, determined the necessary power to be generated, designed a suitable array and made a proposal. From the beginning they explained the necessary construction, types of panels, necessary connections to the power grid, etc. While we concluded our agreement in June, construction did not start until October. Permits and arrangements with SRP (Electric Utility) all take time. Also, prior to installation of the panels, it was advisable to replace the roofing. As I recall, Solar Solutions suggested the roofer - and the price appeared to be very reasonable, well done and completed so as not to delay installation of the solar panels. I live in Massachusetts and much of the communications after the initial meetings was done with our daughter, who lives in the house. She is not home during the day, but had no problems as access into the house was not necessary. I have been very pleased with the results.

Communications, mostly long distance by phone and email, were timely and helpful. Each stage of the project was thorough and the folks adhered to all time commitments, and in fact, were done more quickly than committed to. The folks where sensitive to my needs and requests, adapting to my requests. Sun Valley folks also painted conduit along the side of the house so the additional boxes and cables appear to match all that was already on the side of the house. Do use Sun Valley Solar Solutions. They live up at all the promises they make......a bit rare in this day and age where many companies are quick for the sale and then you wonder where the rest of team is......

I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed with Sun Valley Solar from start to finish. And we couldn't have been easy clients to deal with... My engineer/lawyer husband had an intricate excel spreadsheet going from the start and I (type A+ control freak) was managing a half house remodel/addition including variances, permit applications, new roof lines, repapering, solatube installation, skylight removal, etc... Mark Greene was our initial contact/sales rep and he stayed with us through the whole process, every step of the way. We required a very large system and were coordinating the installation amongst the remodel/addition to the house. The logistics were complicated, but the people at SVS were patient, responsive, competent, and professional. Any 'issue' was immediately attended to and resolved, exceptionally fast even during off hours and weekends. I worked with Mark, Isela, Evan, and Bonnie in addition to the installation crew and they were all of the caliber I hope for in a company. The inspector for the City of Phoenix told me that he could tell it was a good company that I had chosen because of how the panel system was installed... some not mandatory details were added "because they were the right thing to do", he said. Although I am writing this review just days after we turned the system on, so can't attest yet as to the effectiveness of the system (things are running smoothly though), I can tell you the process of obtaining our gargantuan system only went so smoothly because of people at SVS. General advice I would pass along.... Before adding your panels, make sure your roof/paper has plenty of life left in it (you don't want to have to repaper five years after installing the panels who's life is 20+years), know that the inverters make some whirring noise, so don't place them close to your outside peaceful space, figure out where you want the conduit to run from the panels to the system (and communicate your chosen path), have paint ready for them to paint the conduit, buy the inverter covers (to protect the inverters and because they can be painted to match the house), and know that even after the system is installed and ready to go, you are at the mercy of APS and the City of Phoenix with regard to inspections and meter swaps before the actual 'launch'.

Kelly O'Brien started the process with a very knowledgeable presentation. She completely answered all of our questions without applying any sales pressure. She was able to show us our monthly energy used and the monthly expected solar system production and project the savings into the future to determine the year that we would recoup our initial outlay. It just made sense to install the high quality solar panels provided by SVSS' provider Sunpower to reduce our electric bill and contribute to a greener world. Kelly stayed in touch with us throughout the process, but the actual co-ordination was done by an outstanding project manager, Cole Eaton. There are numerous steps involved in the installation and permitting process, but Cole was always there to answer our questions. The entire process did take longer than we had anticipated, but most of the delay was due to our utility company. When we finally got approval from the utility company, they sent a representative to inspect the system who incorrectly denied it. Cole was on the phone immediately and we were connected to the grid within hours. We've now been enjoying the benefits of our solar system for over two months, and feel like it is one of the best investments we've ever made. Thank you, Kelly, for starting us on this path!

SVSS did a fabulous job from the original estimation and sales help, to submitting plans and paperwork to our utility and to the city for permitting, to the installation and startup of the equipment. I did an independent analysis of the system requirements and approximate cost for 100% offset (we generate as much electricity as we use over a year's period) for our home and my estimate matched up with SVSS's estimate within 5%. At that point I knew that they know what they are talking about and that I wasn't getting jerked around with more system than we needed or at some obscene price point. Installing and commissioning a PV solar system is a lengthy and involved process. SVSS was right there the entire time. Communications were excellent. The actual work performed was done very neatly to high standards an was completed promptly. The construction workers cleaned up after the job and left the property in excellent shape. After the utility came out and installed the bi-directional metering system the panels/inverter started right up generating solar electricity. SVSS uses the most efficient PV panels available from SunPower. They are an "elite" dealer for SunPower. I would highly recommend this system and the use of SVSS to walk you through the estimation and installation process. The price is a bit higher (but not excessively) than for lower quality components and is the only reason I gave price a "B" grade. You will still be getting "A" quality value for this installation. Call Kelly at (480) 689-5000 and let her give you a quote. She was engaged throughout the entire project, easy to talk with, is down to earth, and doesn't try to sell you more than you need or want. We developed an excellent working relationship and that just adds to the confidence of the quality of the job.

Mark Greene gave me a great review. At 5:30 pm, my front yard had too much shade for the western facing panels. My energy usage was very low. My panel did not need an upgrade and my home had recently been upgraded with fans, insulation. I would not see any break in prices until 12 years of use. So Mark did not recommend installation of solar for my home. I really appreciated the honest assessment.

Update : The salesmen has contacted me and said they would come out if I called. That way they could check on the production and make sure it was accurate. I haven't had them come out yet, but I plan on doing that soon.

Mark was excellent. He took two hours to explain how solar would work for us. I got the impression if we needed more time, he'd have been happy to spend it with us. He was sincere and straightforward...just what I was hoping for. He was clear and casual. No hard sell...just the facts that we wanted to make a good decision. He answered questions clearly and accurately and left us with detailed, easily-understood price quotes. While it doesn't appear that solar panels are the best choice for our home now, should that situation change, my first phone call will be to SVSS. Very impressed with their company.

I have to start with the salesman Mark Greene. If it were not for him, I would have probably gone with another company. He is by far one of the finest representatives a company can have. He is honest, responsive and professional. The design group is excellent. They were able to come up with a design that took advantage of a patio roof to add some additional panels. The one minor disappointment I had was with one of the project managers. I asked to be kept up to date with progress and upcoming events. I would never hear from her unless I initiated the contact. Once another PM took over my project things changed and I couldn't have been happier. The installation crew is superior as is the service organization. It has only been two days since commissioning of my system so I can't tell you if the output promised is actually achieved. But getting to where we are today was a breeze.

I provided him with information that I had from another estimate. He said based on the information I qualified for solar panels. They would have provided less panels than the other company because their panels are slightly bigger. Their estimate was the lower of the two but I went with the other company because their panels provided better results.
