Our AC unit stopped blowing cold this May, on a brand new Trane unit installed by select comfort at the end of December as part of a home sale transaction. Select Comfort came out as a courtesy they said to check and the freon was low (leak) so they tightened the schrader valve and filled up the unit. A week later it was hot again. We asked them to come back out and they said we were not covered since we were the new owners and only the sellers were covered by him. Needless to say, we then took this up with Trane and our home warranty company. We found the coil was leaking and are trying to get resolution. Meanwhile this company did not stand by their work with us and has caused us to suffer in the heat for days while someone else takes care of this for them. I will not use them and suggest you don't either if this is how they operate.

Regarding the complaint filed, this is not the individual that purchased the air conditioning system from Select Comfort Htg & Clg. The system was purchased and installed for the previous homeowner of the residence. It was paid for through the previous owner to Select Comfort Htg & Clg. This complaint is being filed by the new owner'[Member Information Removed] father, who called to schedule an appointment. It was explained to the new owners father, that if there were repairs that may need to be done, there could be some costs that the manufacturers warranty would not cover. The manufacturer'[Member Information Removed] warranty can be honored by any licensed contractor, and does not have to be through the company who installed the system. The new owners father scheduled an appointment with Select Comfort Htg & Clg to come out June 13th. The owners mother then called Select Comfort Htg & Clg back, and cancelled the schedule appointment for the 13th. She stated she had her own A/C company that she was going to use for the repairs. In her own words, she said, "Why pay you to do it when I can give the money to someone I know. " As for the courtesy trip that was done, it was the original owner who contacted Select Comfort Htg & Clg to come out. This failure came 8 months after the original installation of the system, and there was an appointment scheduled, but was cancelled on the new owners behalf.
