Pool Kings

I have used Pool Kings for approximately 5 years and have been very satisfied until recently when the individual providing the service changed.  My pond has needed a new pump and has not been working for several months.  It took months of requesting to get someone out to provide a bid on the service last fall.  I chose not to have it done at that time and to get other bids, but continued with the pond cleaning service.  Over the last couple of months, the individual providing the service was not cleaning the debris off the top of the pond or refilling it.  Yesterday I watched him and he was here less than 5 minutes and when he left there were bird feathers and debris left in the pond and it had not been filled.  The individual providing the service previously, John, always made sure it was clean and filled.  (the float does not work so it must be filled manually).  Despite the poor service, I continued to receive the bills and paid them.  I contacted the office yesterday to voice my unhappiness with the service and was informed it was not their fault, but mine, for not getting back to them last fall and having them perform the repairs.  When I said I felt they could have called me if they had a concern about providing the service without the repairs, the woman on the phone continued to say it was a burden for them to come out to service the pond and that I was getting a real good deal for $50 a month as it cost them that much to bring the truck out.  Unfortunately I have been paying for a service for several months that has not been provided.  Instead of accepting responsibility for the terrible service, they blame the customer.  I can understand if there is a problem providing a service until repairs are made to the pool, but I would expect a call from the company explaining their concern instead of billing me every month for a service they are not providing.  Most importantly, it is inexcusable for the company representative on the phone blaming me, the customer for terrible service their company provided.  Please do not recommend this company to anyone!

My wife and I decided to have our pool checked out. It's old and we have not done to much to it for the 7 years we lived here. We called 3 different companies and they all told us something different. I don't understand how that could be. So a friend of mine told me to call Pool Kings. He had been using them for years. I did and they sent out there repair tech. He told me that every thing looked good with the equipment. He told us we needed to drain our pool and put fresh water in it. He then informed us that we should change our filter sand every 4 to 5 years. I had no idea we had to change the sand. I told him to give me a price quote. They drained my pool and changed the sand to an upgraded sand for a reasonable price. I can't believe how much better our pool looks. The water is really moving around now. I would never use any other pool company. These guys are great an very honest! Thanks Pool Kings.

If I could give these guys better than an 'A' I would. I've been using Pool Kings for years and I would never go anywhere else. Mike, Melissa and the entire team work very hard to make sure that any issues I have with my pool and/or spa are handled quickly and professionally. They have gone above and beyond to help me and my family with our pool and spa, even going to bat with a manufacturer when one of our pumps went on the blink. The team makes sure my pool sparkles and is properly balanced and maintained. Whenever someone asks me for a recommendation I give them this company.

To date, I have used Pool Kings on two separate occasions and have been extremely happy with their service in both instances. My first call to Pool Kings was in the Spring of 2012 to obtain an estimate for the replacement of a main bulk head seal on my sand filter (it was leaking water during pump operation). Prior to calling Pool Kings, I had obtained an estimate for the same service from another local pool company. Upon examination of the leaking bulk head, the first pool company I called (not Pool Kings) informed me that it would be a very expensive repair and it would be best for me to just replace the entire filter with a new unit. To obtain a second estimate, I called Kindra at Pool Kings and scheduled a service call with John (Pool Kings service technician). John arrived right on time the next morning and was very polite. After examining the leaking bulk head, he informed me that my particular brand of sand filter has removable (screw in) bulk heads, and could be repaired without having to replace the entire filter unit. He also told me that my sand filter was still in really good shape and shouldn't need to be replaced anytime within the next five years (great news!). John also informed me that in order to replace the bulk head, he would have to remove approximately 1/2 the sand in the filter (in order to access the valve from the inside of the filter) and that if I was thinking about having a sand change, now would be a good time to do it to save on labor costs (note: I didn't feel like he was trying to up-sell me more services; he was just letting me know since he was already removing 1/2 the sand). Since it had been more than five years since the sand had been changed, I agreed. John arrived the next morning, on time, as scheduled. He provided all services as expected, cleaned up after the repairs were complete, and took the time to show me (let me inspect) the new bulk head. I was very pleased with John's service and highly recommend him for anyone seeking pool repair/maintenance work.
My second interaction with Pool Kings was in January 2013. My existing pool pump was making unusual sounds and wasn't pushing water very well. I called Kindra and scheduled a service call with Nick (another Pool Kings technician). As with John, Nick showed up on time the next morning and was very polite. Upon inspection of my pool pump, Nick confirmed that it was on its last legs (one of the bearings was making noise due to natural wear), and in his opinion would most likely only run for another 6 to 12 months before shutting down completely. Although he didn't try to pressure me into replacing my pump immediately, he did inform me that the new energy efficient and quot;variable speedand quot; pumps (now required by the State of Arizona for all new installations) generally save customers about $50/month in energy bills when compared to the older non-energy efficient single speed pumps. In addition, Nick also informed me that our local utility companies have/had a program in place that provided an instant $200 savings off the purchase and installation of energy efficient pumps (applicable to any existing electric customer, in my case, SRP). All things considered, I chose to have Nick install a new Hayward EcoStar Variable Speed pump later that same week. As with John, Nick showed up on time and provided all services as expected. He replaced the entire pool pump unit and installed new PVC connections as needed within two hours. He then took the time to walk me through the operation of the new pump and answered all of my questions regarding its operation (the new variable speed pump is much nicer than my old pump, cleans the pool a lot better, and is much more quiet).
As mentioned above, I have been extremely pleased with Pool Kings service to date. I highly recommend Kindra, John, and/or Nick for any pool maintenance/repair services you may need.

We now use another service that did the repairs and even payed a little more. Our new service does not nickel and dime us and teaches us how to care for our pool. On the bright side, the owner's bad behavior encouraged me to go out and find a fantastic pool service company. Thank you for that:)
