I used Craig for this addition after looking into at least 10 companies. He was not the lowest priced, but was close. He is an older gentleman who can pick and choose his projects, not a massive remodeling company. He does some custom homes and some smaller projects to fill the gaps, but doesn't overbook himself. He was onsite practically every day and personally reviewed the quality of all his trades. He is fair and trustworthy. He was very flexible with changes that came up. For instance, when the framers started framing one of the rooms with an 8 foot ceiling due to a misreading of the plan, I protested and made them stop. Craig backed me up and encouraged me to get the architect to clarify so he could make me happy, while still not having issues with the city inspector who might read it the same way. I tried to be a good customer and have all my plans and decisions well before Craig needed them, but he gets credit for clearly letting me know what we needed to decide and when he needed the decision. He was almost always available for clarifications and took my inputs seriously. It really felt like a partnership. Craig understood my budget limitations and never tried to upsell me on items I didn't need. He did explain his recommendations for items that were more expensive or higher quality than I originally planned, and in almost all cases, convinced me. I shopped around for different flooring, plumbing, light, and paint suppliers than he recommended, but in the end, his recommendations were the best values. He clearly has the experience to know which places are the best. Lastly, the project came in on budget, with better quality than I was expecting, about two weeks behind the original schedule (not bad for a five month project. I highly recommend Craig. For disclosure, I've never had any relationship with Craig outside of this project.

The company strung me along and would not resolve problems as they were encountered with other subcontractors. Made it my issue to resolve with the subs instead of owning the problem and finding solutions, as would be expected of a contractor. Not very professional in the communication area, short in descriptions, treated me like I had to beg to get services rendered.
Description of Work: Attempted to hire to do a major job, after two months of back and forth nothing happened.

Response from Krisel Construction and remodeling, Inc
The potential customer was dealing with a roofer who then asked us for some assistance with demolition and framing. After giving him our price, he wanted us to deal with the roofer directly. There was a disagreement between the roofer and the potential customer as to what the price for the roofing should be that they could not resolve. We were then asked to get other roofing prices which we could not ethically do and informed the potential customer.

They were marvelous. They did a lot of work. They were well-managed. They were all very nice, polite, considerate, and they were like I've never seen people work before.
Description of Work: Krisel Construction And Remodeling is the main contractor we used. They did most of the carpentry and framing work in the house. They installed some huge beams for us.

Craig kept us informed on a day to day basis as to when he would be here and when his sub-contractors would be here. He was always here on time and stayed until the job was finished. He was also here to supervise his workers. Clean up was always done before he left.
Description of Work: Craig took our entire master bath and remodeled the complete shower and vanity top. Also was here to supervise his sub-contractors.
