James was very punctual and professional. I have never painted a home before so I had a lot of questions. He took the time to give me honest answers, some not always in his favor. Job took a day and a half and was cleaned up perfectly once completed. Results are amazing! Wish we did this much sooner! Thanks James!

We hired James after meeting with him and walking around our home he went over the scope of the work James seem Very knowledgeable as to what was needed in order to prep the house properly and the materials that should be used for preparation James went into great detail and was very tentative to our needs an concerns and what we was looking for he also went over the paint options and colors and spent much time with us and made us feel comfortable not pressured so we decided to hire James and boy was we happy we hired James to paint our home it looks better than ever and the job site was left very clean the house has never look better since we have owned it. James has many big jobs to do, so he doesn’t have time to do the exterior painting on my house. However, he still come and spends almost an hour to explain and educate me everything I need to know about house painting. He also answers all of my questions and recommends 2 other good painting companies. Thanks James. Highly recommended!

James was thorough and meticulous on prep and painting. Explained what he was doing. Came out looking excellent. Unpainted items were very well protected. Left everything clean and in order. James Horn needs no introduction to Angie’s List members. We can assure you from our firsthand experience that he will exceed your expectations if you hire him. James is personable, reliable, patient, and he's an excellent listener. He is a third-generation painter. James promptly returned our first call and made an appointment to come to see our house. He answered our questions and gave us a rundown on the types and quality levels of Dunn-Edwards house paint available along with his recommendation and an estimate of how long that paint will last until the house will need repainting. He told us exactly how his team would approach the job -- one day for prep and one day for painting. He and my husband walked around the outside of our home where the Q&A continued. He asked for our preferences on several items. We had an estimate --- reflecting an Angie’s List discount -- before he left. James recommended that we select our top three colors from the list approved by our HOA and supply him with the names. He painted large sample squares of all three colors in the location we requested within hours of receiving the email with our three color choices. As he predicted, our choice became obvious. (It was the color he had recommended.) James was at our house three times during the two days of prepping and painting, even though he had a family member’s funeral to attend. His three-man team did a meticulous job. Each man has a different specialty. The house looks terrific! We can highly recommend James Horn and his team.

The crew was efficient, particular, and generally careful. They separately primed both the fascia and slab base before painting. We hired John several years ago after seeing his work in our neighborhood and was happy to know he was still available with the same crew. So, he has painted our house twice, and we would use him again.

The job went according to schedule. I had some funky electrical wiring so there was a minor issue with electrical work. All was resolved. I have had ongoing electrical challenges in my house with some lights being on the same circuit, apparently something that was done routinely in the 1970s. The issue was resolved quickly and effectively.

The experience working with James couldn’t have gone better. He was very responsive at every stage of the process. We contacted him about a month before wanting the painting done. We quickly had a quote and a signed agreement. We had to work with our HOA for final color approval and once we had it we got a start date locked in. James goes out of his way to meet the customers schedule requests. James is excellent with his communication, keeping us informed about everything along the way. He is knowledgeable about paint colors, working with us to meet the HOA color requirements. He and his crew showed up the morning of the scheduled date and finished the excellent paint job the next day. The house looked great after he had finished. We then met him for a walk around and he pointed out some minor issues with the house that were non paint related but that he thought we should be aware of. The overall experience could not have gone better. James was very personable and professional. Everything was done in a timely fashion and as promised. He only uses Dunn Edwards paint and uses it full strength, no watering it down. He helped with some paint suggestions, and brought out a folder of Dunn Edwards swatches for me pick from. After several days of mulling over the paint chips I picked out a few possibilities, which he painted on the house for me to live with for a few days, before making a final decision. He was very patient needing me to be happy with the color and results. James visited the project every day to make sure things were going smoothly and we were kept abreast of the project. Everything that needed masking was masked, and they cleaned up afterward. Several doors that I had thought needed to be replaced, but hadn't at the time, looked great after being painted. Now I'm glad that I hadn't replaced them, saved some money. I'm extremely happy with the job and happy to recommend James.

From start to finish, great company! Very responsive from the estimate to the completed project. Our home was built in the late 1980's and we feel like we now have a brand new house. There isn't anything I would have wanted them to do different. As a small business owner, we believe in superior customer service and James and his crew delivered exactly that.

Jullian, the foreman of the job is simply the best at what he does. He runs the job and other two workers like a fine oiled machine. When they were done yesterday, it was a perfect job with no mess or mistakes and since I picked quality paint, I do not feel I will have to paint the interior for possibly the remainder of my time in the house. We couldn't be more pleased with the job James and his crew did. From the prep to the painting and the clean up after, they did a great job, and were easy to work with too. I would hire them again and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

James did a fantastic job start to finish. He completed the estimate within a few days. He had to follow strict HOA guidelines and asked questions where appropriate. He pressure washed and completed minor repairs on the exterior, calling me when he discovered things that were in need of a larger repair and providing recommendations as required. He took before and after photos. He completed the entire job 7 days, contacted my renters and left us paint for future touch-ups when necessary. His communication skills verbally and via email were great and made this large project necessary. He even gave us a Veteran discount! Excellent work and great company to work with.

I am almost 60 years old and have had a lot of homes painted in my lifetime. James and his crew are the most professional crew I have ever had. From day one his service and communication was fantastic. The quality of the work they performed is unsurpassed. Every detail was given excellent attention. He kept us informed on every minute of the job. Our home looks beautiful. I do not think you can find a better painter in the Phoenix area. I am now thinking I want him to paint the inside as well. It went quite well and we are extremely satisfied with the result. James proposed a creative solution to some damage to our t-111 siding that worked out very well. When the house was finished the hole in the stucco was undetectable. James was on site a significant part of the time but even when he wasn't, his crew worked diligently and carefully. They masked off any areas necessary to avoid damage from over spray, including our entire swimming pool. We were happy enough with the results that I discussed interior painting in about a year with James.
