Paid for new jets and pillows but not all were installed. Then a leak developed and he insisted on $2600 up front. I hired someone else who fixed the leak for $400.

Response from Healthy Pools and Spa Repair Inc.
I wish that I could post pictures of this clients hot tub before and after. The clients hot tub was emerald green. There were absolutely no jets or pillows. I installed all the jets and pillows also replaced the heating. The hot tub was infested with rats. The rats had ate through the air line on the seats of the master spa. I informed the client that I would not be repairing his hot tub. The client offered me $400 but, i did not accept the job.

DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THIS COMPANY If your looking for a reliable pool company, do not contact this company. Joseph will show up, take a deposit then never call you back. After ORHP called them I got the below text message, he never did show up, nor text after this. If you are looking for a company that does not text, nor returns calls and doesn’t show up as promised, then Joseph at healthy pools and spas is the right guy for you . Not sure if he knows, But this is not the way to conduct business. I provided ORHP my call logs to him, and all text messages, They have already flagged him as do not use. He tried to bill them 410.00 to replace a GFCI switch.. BEWARE

I found this company on yelp after discovering a leak in the back of my Spa (underneath the waterfall). When I first made contact with Joe (10/23/2020) he responded to my initial contact within 24hrs and came out to my residence within 24hrs. Joe came out to residence to access the waterfall of Spa, which was leaking and needed replacement and repair due to time/wear tear. I paid Joseph for the new waterfall and (labor) to fix the leak. For the entire fix I paid Joe $959. The cost of the new waterfall cost $259 of this cost and the $700 was consider labor. Joe may have been worked on my jacuzzi for two hours before completing the “entire” install and repair. I paid him his price even though the look of the install repair didn't look all that professional. Joe did let me know that his work is warrantied and that I could contact him, if the waterfall leaked again and he would come out and fix it. Well in May (about 6 months after) the same area of Spa start leaking again. I contact Joe in the morning May 3rd with a video of the leak. I didn't hear from Joe by May 4th at 5pm so I sent another text. Joe responded back with swearing (F Bomb) stating he was busy and that he responds to contacts with in 48hrs. I can understand Joe being busy but most service companies I have delt with give a 24hrs response time and or have it listed that they require more time to respond. Healthy Pools and Spa had no response time listed other than on the facebook page, which stated “Typically in a few hours" . Up until this point, Joe had also not responded to two of calls (3rd and 4th) but he was okay to text me his frustration by the night of the 4th. I prefer talking about fixing issues over text, so I gave him a call on on May 5th. I was able to make contact this Joe this time an expressed is frustration (not professional) and told me that he has been working and was too busy to schedule a visit to check out the leak. He told me that he would call me the next Monday to get me on the schedule. Joe never did call and set a time to come back out. I had to contact/pay another company to come out to examine Joes work. The other company took a two second look at the Joes work and called it an "improper install” and also stated that he (Joe) didnt use the right parts to fix the waterfall. The other company let me know that they could tighten what Joe had done (short term fix) but the leak probably would comeback if proper parts were used. I figured I would go for the short term to stop the water from leaking in my yard and give Joe a contact to fix the leak if it retuned. I should have used better judgment on thinking about contact Joe but I did pay him $700 and thought he may have been fair about the issue. By 11/03, another the leak from the waterfall had returned. Me being smarter, sent Joe a text with a video of the leak and included that I could wait 48hrs for a response. By 11/08, I had received zero reply from Joe. I text him wanting a refund for his “warrantied” work. He told me that he was busy and that he would come out following Monday (11/15). At this point, I had no reason to trust or believe what Joe said. I told him again, at this point I would be looking for a refund. He text back “Ah No” and didnt think that he should have to pay back $700 for the “install/repair”. I text him back asking for his “fair refund price” Joe ignored that comment, so I called him. I asked him over the phone to state his fair refund price and told him about the report of there improper install and the use of incorrect parts for the repair. Joe told me again that he would come out Monday to my home. I told him that he was not coming onto my property and then he hung up. There are plenty of reasons not to use Healthy Pools and Spa. The quality work, customer services and communication that I experienced was not acceptable from a professional stand point. I wanted to share my experience so other dont have the same experience. I would recommend using ProTech Spa Service 602-769-1315. Their response time and price have been great.

I called Healthy Pools and Spa, I spoke to Joseph Gaines who said that he was the owner. He came by the next day and gave me an estimate. I agreed to the price paid him $800.00 I was told that he would come by the next day to get started. The next day came and went, he never show, with no communication. I spoke to him the next day and set another day for him to come by to get started. He got the job done I paid him the balance. In the price for pool repair, also included $100 monthly service fee. He came out the next week for the service and it's been a month and two weeks and I haven't heard from him. I called and sent a text message he never responded. He did a good job but he's not reliable. I also referred him to another friend , I told her that I got him off of Angieslist and that he hasn't done any work for me yet, but she needed someone right away. He did the same thing to her. He did the repair and was supposed to come back for another job. He never showed up and she hasn't heard from him ether. I hate to do a bad report because we all need our money. I went with him because he had an A rating with you guys and I don't want someone else to do the same because I didn't write a review.

Overall the communication was poor and the follow-through was worse. Either Joseph (proprietor) is way too busy or just extremely unorganized. It's been eleven days since the start of this project. We told him today not to return and are calling a reputable company. Joseph began draining the pool early on Oct 7, the pressure cleaning was done by a third party (excellent job) and the tiles were re-applied that day. (Also a good job.) But a few hours after draining began I noticed there was a leak in the drain line. It had to be shut off since it was spilling chlorinated water on our grass. It took Joseph until the afternoon of the next day to come out to replace the hose. Ok, well things happen. It finished draining. Now it was Fri., Oct 9th. A lot of debris was in the pool from the pressure washing. Joseph left the great majority for the filter to clear. He began refilling it anyway. Joseph was to check back with us on the 10th to get the new cartridges we purchased from him installed and the pool running. He didn't show. Joseph actually didn't come out until the afternoon of the 12th, with an ER story about his son and a small head injury requiring stitches the day before. Maybe it happened as described on the 11th, but that doesn't explain his no-show on the 10th. And without even a text to explain. He did get the pool started on the afternoon of the 12th. He told us the chemicals to buy but had nothing to initially get it started. Maybe that's not unusual but seemed that way. We originally purchased four new cartridge filters from Joseph. I was unwilling to put the brand new ones in now, given the amount of debris in the pool. Instead I had him put in good, previously cleaned cartridges. I think they are now destroyed, but it's better than destroying the brand new ones. Joesph left that day (Mon, Oct 12th) saying he would come out again on Saturday, 17th and replace the cartridges with the new ones. That was part of the service. All the debris should be gone by then and the pool would be clear. Well, it wasn't and he didn't. It is now the evening of the 18th. He wasn't here yesterday or today and the pool still has heavy debris. He called late this afternoon and told me he'd be out sometime tomorrow, Oct. 19th and that I didn't need to be here. I told him I wanted to be here. I asked if he had a pool vac he could bring to get the remaining debris that is sitting on the bottom of the pool before he installed the new cartridges. I even offered to do the vacuuming if he'd just bring something. He told me he'd have to charge me for a cleaning. It was my fault the pool wasn't clean. He claimed that by installing 'used' cartridges the pool now isn't clean and that's why the heavy debris is still sitting on the bottom. That was the final straw. I told him not to return. We will now pay a reliable pool company to inspect the workmanship, clean the pool properly and make sure there's no damage to our filter. I'm surprised and most disappointed that this guy would make Angie's list!
