Based on other Angie?s list reviews we selected Croffoot Heating & AC to determine why the back part our house was not getting much air, and to service the heating unit. Our initial contact was via email and Susie was very prompt in responding (a good sign). Kirk serviced our heating unit and determined our problem was due to faulty duct work. Shortly thereafter Kirk came back and made the necessary repairs, and we clearly have more air going to the back part of the house - Yea! Prior to both of Kirk?s on-time visits, Susie called beforehand to let us know he was on his way (a greatly appreciated touch). When Kirk was finished he told us that the ducting made need re-balancing in the summer months, and that he would do it for no charge ? and that Susie will be following up on this (which I have no doubt). He also offered suggestions on how to improve our AC?s efficiency in the summer months. Kirk is punctual, neat, very personable, and CLEARLY knows what he is doing. Susie was very friendly, efficient and courteous. If they ever decide to give up the Heating & AC business they should go into the consulting business because this is the way things should be done!!

His wife who answers the calls was very personable and he was equally as nice. My heater broke in the middle of the night. I called that morning and he was at my house within 30 minutes. He had to get the part and returned to fix it. The end price was less than he originally thought it would be. I was very pleased with the whole experience and would defiantly recommend them and will use Croffoot Heating and A/C in the future.

I called Crofoot at 9 am the company was extremely easy to engage and was sympathetic to our problem, and schedule a same day appointment. Kirk arrived before the scheduled appointment time, performed extensive repairs at price pint that was comparatively less than other competitors estimates. The work was performed, and Kirk provided phone support as we installed a new thermostat.

They were very good. They came out very last minute. It was 107 degrees in our house. We were very pleased.

Their service turned out really well. My wife had just had back surgery and was due out of the hospital on a Monday. He came in on a Saturday so that the work could be done before she came home. It was noisy work. They even sent her flowers as well.

Their service worked out just fine. They were reasonable. We had asked them a question about possibly putting in a different system; he was able to give us all the answers we needed. He was very helpful.

Responded quickly, diagnosed and corrected problem, great to work with, will definitely call them again as needed.

Contacted company and spoke to wife/co-owner, who was friendly and personable. She made an appointment for a couple of days away. Kirk was slightly early, so she called to check that would be okay. He quickly checked the situation and gave an estimate for necessary replacement of part. I checked our former company's estimate and jumped at his price. He was visibly shocked at the other company's estimate for a "Gold Star" price for the same service at $858. instead of the $1129 supposed full price. The part itself was $287. We will definitely be checking with him at replacement time. Oh, we liked him personally, as well.

Kirk was friendly and professional for all 3 visits. He thoroughly explained our issues and went over all of our options. I am very pleased with his work and our increased energy efficiency so far and would definitely use him again and recommend him to anyone.

I'm an engineer and I know troubleshooting isn't always an exact science. Although it would have been great if the first repair had held, I understand why he did what he did and as I watched him do it, it seemed like a reasonable approach. Second time out he fixed it and it held. They came out almost immediately after I called which was already after the technician had put in a long day. He was cheerful and friendly and set to work immediately. When your A/C goes out in July in Phoenix you are at the mercy of whomever you can get to come out. I never once had any sense that he was going to take advantage of the situation. He could have charged me far more than he did. I paid for one repair and he stood by his work on the second call and didn't charge me for the second repair...not even a service fee which I appreciated because he was standing outside my house at 10pm. I would rate this company as one of the most honest I've ever dealt with. They charge a fair price, so low that it makes you feel like you ought to be paying more (especially if you'd dealt with any other HVAC in the valley). They always followed up the next day to ensure you are happy and things are chugging along well. I would gladly recommend to anyone needing HVAC work and have to my friends already. Both AC/Heater units were serviced and a faulty control board was replaced. I was very impressed that they went through the work of determining that the control board was on warranty (9 years after installation) so I only paid a minor service call. Right on time and very professional.

Husband and wife operation with mid-western values (great couple). I had a drip pan rusted out on my A/C unit. Each company I called insisted they had to replace the coil even though the AC runs great. The quotes were ~$3500. When I called Croffoot Heating and Air Conditioning, Suzie (wife) answered the phone. I explained that I was looking for someone who knows how to fix the problem rather than replace the whole unit (after all it's just a drip pan). Suzie immediately convinced me that she was on board to help me find a solution. She searched for a replacement pan and although nothing came up, she was optimistic that her husband Kirk would be able to have one fabricated. Kirk is an "old school" kind of guy. He checked out the unit and agreed there was no need to replace parts that weren't broken. He removed the old drip pan and took it down the road to have a replacement fabricated. Rather than just taking measurements he actually took the old drip pan with him to ensure the fabrication is precise. As a result, I saved almost $3k and am optimistic that i'll get several more years out of the current AC unit. I'm really glad I found Kirk and Suzie on Angie'slist and highly recommend them.

Our upstairs air conditioner began emitting warm air. It was Labor Day afternoon and I was pleasantly surprised when Susie answered the phone at Croffoot Heating and A/C. Although they were completely booked for the day, she would call me at approximately 4:00 to let me know if we could be squeezed in--on the off-chance that the previous jobs were completed early. There wouldn't even be an exorbitant, gazillion dollar Holiday/weekend charge for the Labor Day service. She did schedule an appointment for the following morning, though. She also suggested turning our upstairs thermostat to "fan" to at least circulate the air--it made a huge difference (thank you, Susie!). Their 4:00 phone call let us know that he was so busy working that he hadn't even had the time to check in with the office. We would definitely see him tomorrow---mid-morning. At about, 10 am Susie called to let me know that their first appointment (at a big, well-known, popular restaurant a few miles away) took a bit longer than expected and that he may be a bit late. That was very considerate and appreciated--plus Mr. Croffoot was at my home less than an hour later (not really late at all). Mr. Croffoot was pleasant and quickly diagnosed our problem. He efficiently replaced our capacitor and answered my question regarding the age of our units (we bought the home only 8 months prior). Since the units are original to our home, I will definitely use this company in the future. I loved his advice of just keeping them until they just can't be repaired anymore...replacements are expensive!

I have 2 AC units, 2.5 ton, and 4 ton, in my 2500 sq ft home. The larger unit has not seemed to be cooling really well, and the electric bill has been going up steadily. I called on Friday, 8/31. Their first opening for a non-outage was 9/6. I took it - but failed to write it down. I thought they were coming today, 9/5. I called Suzie and left a message, and received a call back quickly. She did have time to squeeze an appointment in the afternoon and I took it. Kirk came out on time, and checked both units. He added freon to the large unit, which was out. He also checked the smaller unit, which was fine. He added a seal leak additive, at an extra cost, which he outlined beforehand. The final bill was right in the ballpark of the initial estimate when starting the repairs. Kirk and Suzie are a great husband-wife team. Very friend, did what they said. Kirk was patient, answered my questions, and was very knowledgeable and helpful. He also suggested adding attic insulation to help with the issue, suggesting the current levels were not optimal in the attic. We also discussed attic fans. All in all, very happy with their service.

What nice genuine people, Suzie (Wife) fields the phone, and Kirk (Husband) does the service work. I actually accidently missed the first appointment (was working in the backyard and didn't hear the door). Really embarrasing and rude on my part, but Kirk completly understood and politly re-scheduled. He came out to drain the old air-conditioner and come back to install the new one. Time got away from me and I had to leave for Afghanistan. I called to offer and pay for what service was completed so far and Suzie told me not to worry about it. I came back months later and they remembered me and were very polite and happy about coming out and finishing the job. Kirk showed up early, worked quick, and completly cleaned up when he was done. On top of that he said he didn't use as much material as the thought so he dropped the cost of that material from the original quote. He could of charged me full price and I would of never known. Considering he was installing an airconditioner that was incorrectly installed the first time (the first company charged me twice as much!), and his patience and honesty with me......I wouldn't call anyone else. I have to admit I was a little worried about using such a small company, but I think the communication between the two is better since Kirk knew exactly what I told his wife I wanted done over the phone. This was my first time using Angies List and it already paid for itself.

Called Croffoot and spoke to Susie...very kind and she knew what she was doing. Originally they were unsure if the part was under warranty but they did some studying and found a warranty for us. Response time was amazing and they were very kind and willing to help in any way they could.

Our A/C went out late night on 8/7. I signed up with Angieslist first thing at 7am and started to look up a reputable A/C repair company. I came across Croffoot A/C and read reviews and decide to to call them for service. I called Croffoot and left a message before they opened at 7:30. By 7:35am they had returned my call and setup an appt to have Kirk (owner) for a service call within hrs of the call! Both Susie and Kirk were very helpful and professional. As soon as i described the symptoms of my A/C problem he knew what to check! There was no pressure to purchase anything! His only goal was to fix the issue. Which he did in a matter of less than 30 minutes. He quickly identified the problem, swapped out the bad part and the job was done! i highly recommend Croffoot Heating and Air Conditiong

Sunday morning, no a/c. Found them on Angie's List. Husband and wife company, wife answered the phone and gave an approximate time. NO ADDITIONAL SERVICE CHARGE FOR SUNDAY CALL! Husband arrived right on time, found the problem in minutes (experience shows). Made repair and checked the unit's electrical system. In and out in 30 minutes. GREAT SERVICE! Gave me a refrigerator magnet (went right on the fridge) and a card/coupon for a discount on the next service.

Kirk and Susie are a wonderful team! Susie took the time to compare what their prices would be compared to what I was quoted elsewhere. they saved me close to $400. In addition to that, Kirk made a special trip out to add some Freon to my compressor to allow me to get by while my warrantied part was ordered and delivered. I will be sure to pass along their business cards to co-workers, family, and neighbors!

The experience was great overall. I’m an out-of-town owner, so I have renters in the condo they worked on. They were great dealing with my renters, and they were able to take care of everything over email and phone. They kept me aware of everything and were excellent to work with overall.
