A/C quit early Thursday evening. Called Croffoot expecting an answering voice message. Surprised to have the phone answered by a person (Mrs. Croffoot) and set an appointment for Friday 10:30. Mr. Croffoot called sometime after 9:30 that am and said that he could come over to the house sooner than the appointment time. He did and promptly fixed the problem. He stated that the A/C was still under warranty and the replacement capicitor would be covered. He only charged for the service call and labor. Considering that the temps here in Gilbert, AZ were soaring into the 110's plus I was thankful for his service and charges which came only to 124.00. A week or so later I received a check of around 14.00 as a refund for over charging. That was highly unexpected. I would recommend this company to anyone primarily for their promptnes, ability to quickly analyse the problem and fix it. I can't assure their prices on any particular problem and repair but I am very confident that they will be very satisfactory in both the repair and charges. Highly recommend!!

We got 4 bids, and all were fairly comparable price-wise. From our first contact with Kirk and his wife, Susie, we appreciated how professional, courteous, and easy to talk to they were?and no sales pitch. When Kirk came over to give us an estimate, we immediately could tell that he is an expert in his field. We also especially liked that Kirk would be the one to do the installation himself. He made several suggestions that would enhance the performance of our unit, that no one else had suggested in the 20 years that we have lived in the house. Both of them also spent a considerable amount of time with us answering questions over the phone before we made our final decision. In addition, their price was the only one that included a full 10-year warranty. Once we accepted the proposal, their busy schedule pushed the installation out about 2 weeks, but Kirk came to the house and charged the system with Freon at no additional cost to us so that we would be comfortable while we waited. The installation took one full day and everything went smoothly. And they even took care of filing the manufacturer and utility company rebates for us. We very highly recommend Croffoot Heating & Air Conditioning and will use them in the future. They are dependable, honest, very attentive, and went out of their way to provide excellent service. The best part is that our house is SO much more comfortable than it has ever been!

I woke up on the hottest day of the summer to an 89 degree home; the forecast for the day was 117. I called Croffoot based on the review and Sandy answered. It was 8am and they came out the same day around noon. I gave them the motor number as it was obvious the motor had blown. He already had the motor on his truck so we were good to go. I believe the mans name was Art, I can't remember, but he was extremely nice and personable. He came out, fixed the unit, cleaned it and re-taped the silver tape. I feel like I have an entirely new unit it's so efficient now. I thought it was going to be at least one thousand dollars and I was a little panicked but the quote was between 550-600 depending on the condition of the unit, and it came to 562. I highly recommend this company, it's very rare to find such gem. Please call them, they are really amazing.

A/C broke during holiday Suze and Kirk juggled schedules and got over the next day Kirk evaluated situation, and provided repair quickly, and accurately Kirk explained the problem, and resolution in terms I could understand These guys are awesome!

Kirk and Susie are very pleasant to deal with. Kirk arrived within the scheduled time. Performed all service and repairs and afterwards explained everything he did. We had a discussion about future work I may want done to improve system performance. I've used them before and have always been satisfied with their work ethic and consideration to the customer. In February we made the decision to finally replace our dying roof top unit. Kirk and Susie were honest and fair. They treated us respectfully and even scheduled the work on a Saturday so we did not have to miss work. Since the installation we have had no issues, a cooler more comfortable house, and a lower electric bill. We wish we could use them for all of our house projects.

Kirk made us feel comfortable from the beginning. You can tell from the moment you meet him that he is experienced and we never felt like we were being upcharged. Additionally, he never offered a maintenance plan or suggested other services (which is a pet peeve of mine--fix the problem and back it up if a problem arises (getting off my soap box now)). Kirk looked for opportunities to save money and used aftermarket parts saving at least $200. Our air is blowing super cold and our a/c unit is even running quieter than when it was new. Overall we are very pleased and would trust Kirk again and will emphatically recommend Croffoot to our friends.

Croffoot does an extremely good job, and it's a pleasure to have them visit. This is the second time I have used them. They are one of the best service companies we have ever dealt with. They are very thorough.

Our A/C was blowing warm. We originally called Howard Air out. They put in 8 lbs of R-22 and and a Start Kit costing me $873. They told me no sense in tracing the freon leak because it is probable in the inside coil and those cannot be replaced or repaired. Their only solution: a new A/C. Our A/C is 7 years old. He said A/C's that come with new houses only last 6-7 years. I'm not sure about that because many people we know have had their A/C's for almost 20 years BUT R-22 is quickly to be phased out in 2015 and parts for R-22 A/C's are becoming expensive. I started calling AC Companies to see if my only option was as Howard Air said....a new $9000 AC unit. Croffoot was the best. They gave me several options. Not only can the inside coil be replaced but sometimes repaired. They also said there are products like EasySeal that work on small leaks like a Fix-a-Flat for tires. I really appreciated Croffoot giving me ALL the options so I could make a decision. Croffoot came out and installed the EasySeal but 2 days later the AC was blowing warm and they came back out on a Sunday and assessed the problem and it was the Start Kit that Howard Air put in. The $200 Start Kit only lasted a week. Croffoot was able to warranty their Start Kit saving me the trouble of calling Howard Air out and fixed the problem. Granted I did not give Howard Air the chance to fix the issue but at the same time Howard Air did not give me all the repair options other than a new A/C. Croffoot Heating and Air are extremely honest. I have never before written a review for Angies List but I will also Facebook all my contacts to use Croffoot and of course, Angie's List gives a 10% off. Please use them, you won't regret it. Called at mid-morning on Friday, expecting that I would have to wait until Monday. To my surprise, the service was completed and my house was cool by mid-afternoon on Friday, for less than I had anticipated paying.

Kirk Croffoot is the real deal. Look no further if you want an honest,knowledgeable,reliable service man. His wife Susie runs the office and keeps you informed about Kirks arrival time. He came and fixed a unit that had quit cooling after diagnosing a problem that many would not have found. He cleaned and serviced all three units in 108 degree temp and spent over three hours to complete. No cut corners despite the outside temp. It's a pleasure to work with a service professional that treats his customers as Kirk does.

Kirk and his wife were fantastic to work with. They took the time to listen and understand what we were trying to accomplish with the repair/modification. Kirk came up with an affordable solution to our problem and it worked! Kirk removed our existing duct work (supply) and installed a new extended supply box. He installed new collars and damper and sealed with duct sealant. He also adjusted the dampers for each room. The three rooms in our home that were really uncomfortable are now very pleasant, with no noticeable difference in temperature from one room to another. Thank you, Kirk!

Mr. Crofoot was on time. Friendly but did not waste time chit chatting, Informed us that our ac unit was still functioning and though rusted, he suggested we not replace the until it no longer functions. For the last four years we have had the unit similarily checked and was recommended and quoted amount for repairs and/or new units. Mr. Croffoot was polite and professional. He even sent a thank you card for using his service. We wish we could clone him for all our service needs.

My goal was to install a high seer rating heating and cooling system in my house. Generally for high SEER (>18) systems the price goes up rapidly after you pass 13. After doing some research on the internet, I found a mini-split solution to the problem, a 21 SEER mini-split at a very affordable price. The next step was to find a licensed contractor to install it. It's possible to do the installation yourself, but doing so requires specialized equipment and you'd void your warranty. I started calling contractors found via Google searches. Most contractors flat out refused to do the installation, saying they didn't want to be on the hook for the warranty if the system had issues. I'd explain to them they would only be responsible for the installation itself and NOT the equipment; this clause could easily be written into the contract. Some would counter with a proposal in which they would supply the equipment and the cost was always ridiculous. Finally I decided to try AngiesList, Croffoot HVAC is highly rated so I decided to start with them. I called and spoke with Susie and later that day Kirk showed up at the agreed upon time to look over the job and work up a quote. Kirk listened to my concept and inspected the house, attic, exterior and agreed that a mini-split was a viable solution and they would be willing to perform the work. A couple days later I received the quote which was reasonable so we decided to go ahead with the work. As Kirk's schedule wasbusy and I needed to order the equipment the installation date was set for six weeks out. Next I went about finding the best price for the system I wanted. After digging around on Google, reading reviews and barteringwith various equipment suppliers I decided on one and put an order together. Before ordering I ran the parts list past Kirk to ensureI'd have all the parts needed on installation day. This done the order was placed, the equipment was received in due time andwaited for installation day. Installation day. Kirk and his assistant showed up on time and promptly got to work. In minutes they had the old system removed,and began work on assembling and installing the new system. A blow by blow of the installation isn't necessary or relevant, but I will supply a synopsis. 1. Both men stayed busy the entire time, I wasn't paying people to stand around. 2. The installation was done exactly as I requested. 3. The job site was cleaned, all materials and the old system were hauled away. 4. They where pleasant to have around. I highly recommend Croffoot HVAC. Susie and Kirk provide a straight forward service/product and are truly committed to having happy customers. btw I am very pleased with my new system, my electric bill is 40% less then before. SRP on the other hand will not grant their energy efficiency rebate as the system doesn't have ductwork, go figure.

This experience was the complete opposite of all past experiences with HVAC companies. From the scheduling the repair for the next day through the completion of the service, it was nothing but pleasant conversions, informed diagnosis, and thorough work. Economically, this repair cost only $240 ... the cost of the capacitor plus the service call. The prior service call from a different company gave me a $500+ estimate after 5 days of trying to schedule a salesman to sell us a new A/C unit. in summary, I can not think of any way this experience could have been improved upon.

I have been using Croffoot Heating and Air Conditioning for almost 3 years. In every instance they have gone above and beyond to help me with my problems. They have done regular maintenance for me for the last 3 years and last year, they replaced a circuit board that was broken. One morning I woke up and noticed the A/C wasn't working. I called Croffoot's number and he was out there later that day. He diagnosed the problem quickly, ordered the custom part, and then put it in the next day. It was a smooth experience from start to finish. Their regular maintenance costs are comparable and fair and their customer service and kindness cannot be beat. They are hands down the best A/C team I've ever worked with.

From start to finish, the whole staff were friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The price they charged was very reasonable. My air conditioner works like a dream. They scheduled an appointment and were very punctual. They laid out tarps while they worked and wore booties into the house. When they left there was no mess and now I have a very cool house.

Showed up promptly at the scheduled time to look over our situation and give us his recommendations . Took the time to answer all questions and also thoroughly explained what work would be done. On the install date, started work right on time and finished later that evening. Everything went smoothly and the house and yard looked good - all debris, etc cleaned up. Unit works great. Also appreciated having all the paperwork completed and submitted by them to the manufacturer. Very professional from start to finish. Would highly recommend this company.

Kirk has been in business for over thirty years and it shows. He was totally professional and extremely knowledgable. Kirk inspected both my units and one needed some freon. The entire experience was A+, starting with making the appointment and completing the work. Thanks Kirk, you are a class act.

Contacted Kirk along with two other contracters from Angie's list, one of whom did not show. Explained to Kirk that we wanted to get ahead of the curve and replace our approximately 20 year old HVAC unit before it went out at the wrong time. Kirk came to our home, was personalble, professional and quite knowledgable. After listening to what we wanted to have done, he walked the house, backyard and attic to see the existing setup. He then recommended a good, better and best course of action to us. He explained each item thoroughtly pointing out why he suggested it, what it would do and why it would benefit us. Both Kirk and his wife Sue were wonderful to deal with and as good as their word on everything they said. The estimate was in my email box the next day, was complete as to what he would do and the cost including all taxes and fees. I called Kirk with a few questions and asked him to meet to finalize the transaction. Even on short notice he was prompt and amiable. We agreed to terms and scheduled a time to do the work. The installation was fast, thorough and done with a minimum of fuss. I felt they did the work as if it their own home. The overall experience was first class with a feeling that not only did you get excellent workmanship at a good value, but that you also made a friend as well. I found Kirk to be a man who values his word and reputation highly. To be highly skilled and experienced at what he does. The words escape me as to how highly I would reccomed doing business with him

Kirk showed up exactly on time. Explained thoroughly all services that needed to be done, and the cost involved. Very professional, courteous, pleasant demeanor. All repairs are working perfectly. I am very pleased and highly recommend using their services.

My heat pump was barely putting out any warm air, kept cycling into defrost mode and seemed to be running all the time. I thought it might be out of refrigerant gas in which case i was anticipating a damaged compressor and thousands in repair costs. I've heard of the many rip-off scams in the AC repair business so I was very glad I researched Angie's list before selecting Croffoot Heating and Cooling. Kirk arrived right on time and I immediately felt I had made the right choice. Everyone I have had in my house to do work typically wear work boots and come right in. Sure they wipe their feet (usually) but that's it. Kirk came to the door, stood on the mat and put covers over his boots like you would use in a clean room! That tells me a lot about his character. We discussed the problem and he got to work diagnosing the issue. Turns out that my worst fear was not to be realized when he discovered that the fan motor on the outside unit was seized up. While not a cheap fix, it's a lot less than I was expecting. He replaced the motor, checked all the pressures and indicated that everything else about the unit was fine. After completing the job I had some additional questions. Kirk was very happy to spend the extra time and even open up my air handler to check some settings for me! All in all I can honestly say that the experience has been exceptional and I highly recommend Croffoot Heating and Cooling.

Croffoot Heating & A/C just replaced my aging A/C and heat pump. Kirk was very professional and thoroughly diagnosed the unit before giving me a few options. He didn't try to sell me on the most expensive, but let me decide on something once he gave me the information. Ordering was prompt; installation was smooth. I enjoyed dealing with his wife, Susie, who schedules all the appointments and does the billing - she is friendly and efficient.
