Baker’s Travertine Power Clean

Three young men worked non-stop for two days. Very pleasant individuals Kept us apprised at all times of what they were doing. Constantly communicated with my wife to be sure she was happy of the results of their work Highly recommend this service.

The owners came to supply a bid, go over the process, measure, and discuss what to expect. The day of service the crew arrived and were very professional and courteous. The result was better than I had even expected and it seems like a whole new floor. During the bid and after the work was complete they reviewed with me how to care for the floors in the future, which taught me my online research was pretty far off base. I was really amazed at how many stains they were able to pull out of the tile, and the floor even feels cleaner on our bare feet. This was a home maintance cost we had been putting off, but now I am so glad we went with Bakers and wish I had done this sooner.

I made a big mistake of using an unqualified floor tile installer from Art of Tuscany in Mesa. My floor tiles were installed uneven with sharp edges between tiles that not only looked terrible, but you could cut your foot on if you walked barefoot. Long story short, I fired the unlicensed tile installer and brought in Baker's Travertine to level the floor by using a stepped series of different grinding methods. The final result was excellant. I had 3 different "floor tile restorers tell me the floor was a total lose and could not be saved, but Baker's was able to save the floor and make it look just like my vision for an excellant floor. The workers were prompt, professional, and made sure to check in with me several times each day to explain the process and get my opinion on the next steps. I would not hesitate to use Baker's again or to recommend them. I quoted every tile floor restorer in the Phoenix area and Baker's is the only one I would consider in the future.

Fabulous work. Our floors look beautiful. The work was meticulous and was done in one day! The price was very reasonable compared to other providers.

It was clear to us that the crew of three, lead by foreman Miles, was VERY experienced at doing what they do. The first thing was to help us move four heavy items of furniture onto the back patio that we had been unable to clear from the travertine. Two of these were problematic (very heavy and too big to fit through the doors) and Miles explained that they would move them as needed to polish the floor under them, then move them back in place. The three crewmen were actually polishing floor with two of the polish machines by 10 am, and they continued without break until 5:30 pm. The third crewman was engaged in support of the polishers, patching some pits and cracks and staunching the liquid polishing agent with towels to prevent soaking baseboards or stone cladding on the fireplace. The men were friendly and responsive to our questions. On Friday it was the same, but they finished the polishing with the front exterior stoop at about 3 pm. We were present in the house during most of the job, "hiding out" in a carpeted office or in a sitting room?but we felt confident that we could leave them alone at their work without security worries. After the polishing was done, they then helped us move most of the heavy items of our furniture back into place in the house?more than they had helped us move out and more than the ten items specified in the contract. The travertine floor was in such a fine reflective state that we could see ourselves clearly in it. We took pictures of various parts of it, showing the reflection of outside light admitted through windows and doors and under the lights. It was simply a wonderful transformation of our travertine floor, which had previously had only a satin sheen put onto it at installation a dozen years before. Miles then counseled us on the cleaning and maintenance of our new and wonderful floor. We will be purchasing a steamer to help in this, using the cleaning concentrate they included in the price. We discussed payment?should we pay by card so as to amass air miles credit, or a check, or what. All these options were possible and we chose to pay by card, which was well managed on site by Miles. The price exactly equaled the estimate. All in all, it was a wonderful performance by the Bakers and their crew. Not only did we wind up with a superbly impressive floor in two days of work (only five days after first contact), we even made friends.

I couldn't be happier with my ENTIRE experience. The owners came out to do the estimating and walk me through the process and how it would be performed. Was completely not wanting to deal with this project and was worried about getting estimates because of so many bad experiences with companies in general, but Baker completely changed my attitude. The owners were so nice, so professional that I didn't even shop them. The crew was prompt and called me over the course of the 2.5 days to let me know how far out they were time wise. Yes we have a lot of marble counter tops and it took 2.5 entire days to complete. They managed to get the deep etching out of the marble by my kitchen sink. Would totally use them again and will recommend them to anyone.

They were great to deal with, and the floor looks amazing! We are new to travertine floors, so we appreciated that they took the time to not just explain the work they we going to do, but also how to care for the floor.

Tom came out and gave me a quote in person. He was very knowledgeable and professional. During the course of our conversation, he recognized that I was a veteran and immediately offered a discount on the quote. I was super impressed by how much he appreciated me for my service to the country and would be willing to that for me. As for the work, his techs arrived on time and were very professional and completed the work in a reasonable amount of time. They were very courteous towards my family as we have two girls under three and they were running in and out of the house. We had not had the travertine cleaned or polished since with owned the home (2009) and it was amazing to the see the tiles come to life. They helped us move furniture around without our asking and were quick to finish their work. We would definitely recommend Tom?s company to anyone looking to have their floors done. Baker's is an extremely professional operation. The owners, Tom and Amy, come to the home to give an estimate. They are knowledgeable and very fair in pricing. We are always confident that their company will do the best work. Today, the team arrived at 9:35 am. It is 5:45 pm and they are still here, finishing up their work and making sure that all is perfect. The floors look fantastic! Miles and his crew worked non-stop all day and the end result of their hard work is masterful. We had the floors polished to a high finish and they shine beautifully. The countertops look great and the shower is like new. We highly recommend Baker's. Should you have occasion to use them, you will not be disappointed. I had a major mudslide on my property 9/8/14. After it was all cleared out, the Bakers had their team of professionals out to clean all my flagstone and brick patio so recently inundated with mud and gravel (I live on Camelback mountain). They cleaned everything perfectly on 9/27. On 9/28, the very next day, there was a second major storm and a second major mudslide. The Bakers agreed that once I got everything cleaned up again, including building some new retaining and diverting structures to avoid further mudslides in future, they would come out and reclean and reseal everything at no further charge. Not only incredibly professional, but very understanding people. I'm a customer for life. Everything is just as they describe it, from the punctuality and professionalism of their crew to how things look when they're done. Cannot recommend them strongly enough.

I was impressed with Baker Travertine from the point of making the initial appointment over the phone. They came out to do an estimate for cleaning my travertine shower and polishing the areas on the floor that had lost the shine from traffic. I felt that the estimate was reasonable for the work that they quoted, so I had the work performed that same week. The team from Baker was outstanding. Polishing travertine is very messy and the last time I had it done, I spent weeks cleaning up after the project was done. The Bakers assured me that their team would clean up thoroughly once the work was done, and they were meticulous in doing so. There were no splash marks at all on my baseboards from the polishing slurry after they were finished. My shower looks almost like new and my floors are gleaming. The four men on the crew were extremely polite and professional and so pleasant to work with. I was completely delighted with the end result and will most definitely use them again as well as recommend them to my friends that need their travertine tile maintained.

This is my second time using this company and I did so because I was so pleased with the results last time. And they did a great job again! They polished and sealed the rest of my house, plus rebuffed the kitchen area for a small fee. They guys were clean, professional, hardworking and honest. My floors look GREAT. In due course, I'll ask them to service my back patio travertine so it looks as good as the front porch that they did. This is probably the best experience I've had from any contractor ever.

We moved into our home in August and the travertine shower had a lot of calcium build up, etching, and some cracked grout. I called Baker's based on all of the positive reviews on Angie's List. I didn't know how to take care of a travertine shower and wanted to make sure the work was done right. Turns out Baker's has a minimum job requirement of $500, but the person I spoke to was super nice and told me she could put the job up on their board as a side job and more than likely, they would be able to get to it in the next week or two. Chris, the technician, called me and came out on a Saturday. He was nice, knowledgeable, and professional. He explained everything that he was going to do. He was here for 5 hours and did a thorough job. Unfortunately, the caulking around the perimeter of the shower didn't lighten up after drying and was too dark. I called Baker's the following Monday and they immediately agreed that it would be fixed. Chris came out today, just as friendly and professional as the first time, and took care of the problem, making sure we were happy with the color. He was great. We would definitely recommend Baker's and will call them in the future when we are ready to do our floors.

Since the job was completed, we have had a couple of gatherings of family and friends at our house, most of whom have been to our home before and many of them noticed and commented on how much they liked the high gloss finish. It is nice when others notice something like that also. Our travertine has been so much easier to clean since we had it polished. I would highly recommend Baker's Travertine to anyone looking to have their stone floor cleaned and polished. It is a definite improvement. I know that you can't dictate which crew comes out, but if Travis is overseeing the job, you can count on the job being done right. He offers great customer service and follow through.

Tom and Amy Baker came out for the estimate. They were both very nice and provided the estimate before they left. After receiving several estimates, we selected Baker's for the job. Baker's provided two options, mute and satin. We chose satin which has a slight sheen to it. Baker's lead, Ray, and three assistants arrived on time, Ray carefully explained the whole process in detail of what they were going to do. They went to work preparing everything, moved the heavy furniture for us, polished two area's to show us the difference between muted and satin finishes and kept us informed as they went along. Ray was great and the whole crew could not of worked harder and been more professional. We were impressed with their work ethic because they worked straight throughout until the job was completed to our satisfaction. They also put the furniture back for us. They are a young crew that handled themselves professionally. We did not see them standing or joking around, talking on their cell phones or outside smoking. WThey were very pleasant and we would hire them again.

They are very good and awesome. They have been out to my house six or seven times and always do a very nice job. They are less expensive than the company I used to use, who was excellent. I believe Baker's is just as good. They always show up on time and will try to fix me in if I have an emergency. I have had big spills before that I needed somebody to get to right away or it would really wreck the floor. They come out on a moment's notice and will work with me. You normally book out about two months in advance, but if you tell them you have an event happening or if there is some reason that you really need the floors done they will try to fix me in earlier. I just appreciate that they make an effort that way. The owner and his wife are kind of funny people, but they are very nice.

I learned about Baker's Travertine last November when I began researching maintenance options for our flagstone decking. I contacted Amy and Tom at that time via e mail and was told that their penetrating sealer worked better when it was applied during a warmer time of year. They asked us to contact them again in the Spring, so we put the service on the back burner. We suffered a flood in our home in late May 2014, and due to needing to be home to meet with other contractors, we decided to revisit our flagstone maintenance. We contacted Tom & Amy and they came to our home to bid the job and review what needed to be done. We had cracked stone, cracked grout, dirty stone and chemically stained flagstone. They spent a good deal of time with me and answered all of my questions. They told me what they could do, and what they could NOT do, which I appreciated. When I told them that I'd like to move ahead with the job, they arranged to start work within 48 hours. When we were unable to start the job that soon, they were flexible in working around our schedule. On the scheduled day, Ray, Tim and another young man arrived on time and ready to get to work. They were meticulous in everything they did from power washing and scrubbing the stone, to actually getting down on their hands and knees to inspect and repair the flagstone as needed. They worked hard the whole time they were here. There was no lounging, break-taking or iPhone checking while working. It was a very hot day, but they kept at it until they were done. They returned the next day to finish up the job by applying the sealer. At the end of the 2nd day, I paid them, but did not bother to walk the job before they left. That was my fault. When I did go outside to take a peek at the job, I noticed a few grout cracks that hadn't been repaired, as discussed with Tom Baker on the day he made the bid. I checked the work order and noticed that crack repair was part of the work order, so I phoned Tom right away. I left a message, but he called me back quickly and had the guys return immediately. I even offered to have them come back the next day, but Tom insisted that they get back to my house that day to complete the job. The guys came back, apologized for the oversight and got to work repairing the 3 or 4 cracks. They were done within the hour. I am very pleased with the quality of the work that was done. The cracks were repaired, the flagstone was cleaned thoroughly, the stains were removed and the stone was sealed. I would recommend Baker Travertine to anyone who needs their flagstone repaired, sealed and rejuvenated.

My floors look fantastic! The Bakers (owners) met with me about a week or so ago to review my needs and quote a price. Thorough and professional. Yesterday their three technicians arrived right on time, well presented and ready to work. And work they did - straight through 9:30-5:30. For the last hour, they were on their hands and needs inspecting every inch of my 1000+ sq feet of travertine. They went around the toilets and inside the closets with the handheld machine; the big open parts were done with the big machine. My floors glow like I never knew they could. In fact, I got the floors done a few years ago and the results weren't anywhere near as good as what these guys did. The fellows were nice to my dog too. I'll definitely use this company again and hope I get the same crew.
