A FINER DESIGNER

Tobie was punctual. Returned my calls and e-mails in a timely manner. Allowed me to take my time with my decision and was willing to get more samples but the original ones worked great.

In repainting some of our rooms, I was interested in somewhat deeper colors than we usually use and was uncertain of my skill at selecting them. Tobie came to the house and listened to what I liked about it and what I felt less happy with. She helped selected both the colors to paint in the bath and bedroom but also the wall selection for each of the two colors. We used her again to select colors for the public areas of our home. She returned to help us decide what "stuff" to put where on our newly painted walls after everything was finished. This service was particularly valuable to me - she has a really good eye.

She not only told me what would work, but she explained some design concepts behind it. She was incredibly pleasant and knowledgeable and after seeing how the color selection has worked in my home, I am thoroughly impressed and happy.

I can't say enough about Tobie and how she transformed our house! She definitely has an eye for decorating. The window treatments look spectacular, as does the painting! When Tobie and Dennis were painting it was almost like we didn't have our house torn apart. Every day when we came home all of their supplies were put out of the way in one spot and we were able to carry on our daily activities with our children. It was almost like they weren't there at all! Everything Tobie told us was right on with the quote and the timing of painting and window treatment installation. Tobie did a great job figuring how to pull everything together, and really listened to what we liked. I couldn't be happier and will recommend Tobie over and over!

Tobie arrived promptly and well-prepared. We chose colors for repainting living, dining rooms and kitchen. She suggested buying and applying selections to "live with" under various lighting conditions. When I wasn't happy with colors choices, Tobie returned at no charge to rework color scheme. After the painting was done, I called again for help rehanging pictures. Again Tobie arrived promptly and prepared with tools and expertise to complete the job. I am pleased with my completed project and wouldn't hesitate to call again for further professional expertise.

I chose "A Finer Designer" from off Angie's List. I called and reached Tobie who does the custom designing and sewing. She made an apt for the following week. After talking with me about what I wanted she sketched out a picture of what she thought would look great on my window. The following week she came with several samples of fabric and a price. I was going to be gone for the month of June and she told me she would have it ready when I returned home. I was so excited when she called and said she was able to complete the valances before I left. She came and installed them within a couple of days and what a difference it makes. I'm happy to say she put my valance pictures on her web site and to see the before and after shots makes me wonder why I waited so long to have this done. She is very creative, and able to understand what a client wants. I loved being able to see the valances drawn on paper before making my final decision. She also e-mailed me a computerized version of what the final results would look like. She found an excellent assortment of fabric for me to choose from and I am delighted with the results.

Tobie spent three hours with me helping me choose colors to paint the interior of my home. All the walls in my home were painted white and I wanted to add some color. However, I didn't have a clue on how to go about choosing my colors. Tobie was a tremendous help. She has an eye for color and details - things I have no talent for. Tobie helped me choose all my colors and made sure that all the rooms would flow well together. She also gave me ideas for different painting different accent walls and archways - again, things I would have never thought of. Tobie is very professional, friendly, and easy to work with. I would definitely use Tobie's services again. She was a Godsend!

We recently moved to the Phoenix area and selected Tobie from Angie's list after talking to two other decorators. She met with us to evaluate ours needs and wants; she listened carefully and focused our wishes into a plan. In addition, during the first meeting, she redesigned the furniture layout of our living room using existing pieces and additional ones from other rooms to give us a more friendly and conversation inducing layout. She used furniture pieces we had for several years in new ways that revitalized our gathering space. After a week, she returned with her room design plans for color paint choices and fabric window treatments. Her terrific designs used paint colors and fabric choices which unified our house and layout with our furniture and personalities. She choose timeless colors and designed fabric window treatments that put a jewel finish to the windows. Tobie delivered high quality workmanship and completed work in a timely, professional fashion.

This was only a one-hour consultation to help me clarify my design ideas and implement a plan. From the beginning I was planning to do the actual work myself. I told Tobie what I basically was looking to do in the space. I cannot comment on her ability to pull together a design board, color palate, and accessories from scratch because that was not the nature of our business together. While I feel sure she is quite able to do this, my experience also speaks to her flexibility in working with your particular design needs.

Tobie always promptly arrives for appointments and comes well prepared for consultation with photos, ideas, and fabric swatches. Our experience has been nothing but positive. She is conscious of budget concerns and works at all price levels. Her eye for design is wonderful. As you can see I have hired Tobie for three design projects and will continue to do so in the future.
