Desert Foothills Landscape

It went perfectly and our yard is beautiful. We receive compliments from everyone that visits us. They are professional, talented, and responsive. The supervisor and crews strive to please. We could not be more satisfied and recommend them highly.

16 reviews 5.0 star rating 10/4/2017 Desert Foothills Landscape is just finishing a job at our home in Anthem CC. To say we are pleased is an understatement. Let me tell you all the good things about this company... 1. We chose this company primarily because of their design center on Cave Creek Road. It looked like a successful company. Many of the ones we researched on the internet, looked good at a first glance but often if you checked out the address on google, it was a home or a very modest building. We knew they were just contractors who subbed everything which gives you less control. 2. We met with Jake (one of their designers) who is very personable. He seemed to have a good knowledge of what was needed and he listened to things that we wanted (saguaros, yuccas, minimal flowering plants, etc.). 3. We met with Jake to go over the final plans. This at first was a disappointment since we were expecting these elaborate drawings. In hindsight, we realize that a lot of money goes into drawings (takes labor) instead of in the ground. Not having worked with this company, the question begged "are we going to get what we really like without seeing a rendition on paper?" Well, it is a resounding YES and more that what we expected. We can now say to any potential customer, Desert Foothills will perform and you don't need the expensive renderings. 4. The workmen that showed up were friendly, extremely competent and very hard working. Being a California weather wimp, I do not understand how they can work in this heat. All in all, we are very pleased customers. Jake has already gotten an inquiry on this company's services from a neighbor of ours who likes our yard.

Initial contact with Marc was very positive. Outlined a plan for initial cleanup and maintenance that sounded great, including water feature, irrigation, lights, etc. Unfortunately, work actually performed bore little resemblance to contract. No one ever checked on irrigation or lights. Work described in initial cleanup was a fraction of work performed. Then they decided to increase monthly fee by $40 to $260 per month for no reason. Then they charged $200 to come out when I finally did complain about a water leak which had been ignored. Combine this with the response to emails, which was either to arbitrarily ignore you entirely or send out someone and do $200 of work without a quote, and It feels like such a relief to be rid of them.

Overall desert Foothills landscaping does a great job. BUT......... they recently sent out letters to all customers in Tatum Ranch that they are no longer serving that area. The strange thing is I am only two miles from their office. Anyway I stopped in their office today to see what is going on and was surprised how rudely I was treated. When I inquired about them dropping all Tatum Ranch customers regardless of how close they are and how GOOD they pay the two ladies in the office acted like I had the plague. I explained that I totally love their work and professionalism and hoped we could work something out. Their response was just "NO". I then asked if they could recommend another reputable landscaper and their exact response was "we are not aware of any other landscapers in the area and can't help you". This is just my humble opinion, but I would think the nice thing for them to do is help the customers they dropped find another service provider. To reiterate, they do good work but dropped the ball when they cancelled all accounts in Tatum Ranch.

Jan 2010 they did $20,000 worth of landscaping. Marc is a great designer.

Desert Foothills did a extensive redo of our front yard, court yard, and back yard .It took about 5 weeks and we are extremely pleased. In their proposal, they gave us 4 price ranges. We chose the the Premium package. Everyone was extremely professional!. I worked with Marc Vargas. I have never worked with a company that was so willing to please. If I did not like something, they changed it to what I liked. There is still just a little work to be done, but they are waiting on me. I have three beautiful yards to enjoy! .I also use them for monthly maintenance. Once again, very professional. I pay about 160.00 for twice monthly maintenance .I reviewed this company over the phone with Angie's list. In the translation, a lot of info was incorrect, that is why I am writing another reveiw.

They charged me $100 for their services. They have excellent customer service. They are reliable as well. I will use their services again in the future.
