We have a well made 30-year-old sectional that has been recovered twice before. My husband wasn't sure that it would be cost-effective to recover such an old unit again, so we shopped every furniture store for a new sectional in a microfiber fabric that would last longer than the previous fabrics we'd chosen. Nothing met our specifications, either in color, durability, or the quality of construction. Thus, we chose to recover again. Since I hadn't been pleased with our previous upholsterer, I called friends & well-known interior designers for names of other upholsterers . We received several bids, both higher & lower than what we eventually spent. There was no rapport between the others & us, but when Jeff Colt arrived, I knew we'd found the right person. Jeff is one of the nicest craftsmen I've ever dealt with! He was amenable to all my requests, & because of his long experience in the upholstery business (he took over from his father many years ago), he knew exactly what had to be done & how. Colt's is not a huge operation, so there's quality control & attention to detail. Jeff, himself, does all the sewing, & along with his son & another employee, they recover the furniture. When he made his initial visit, he said he'd need 2 weeks to finish a current project before they could begin ours. That worked out perfectly, as we hadn't yet ordered the fabric which would take approximately 2 weeks to arrive. Jeff called when he was ready, by which time we had the fabric. He promised a 2-week turnaround, & in 2 weeks, we had our sectional.
Description of Work: We had a 2-piece sectional recovered in commercial grade Ultrasuede that we provided. Included were 8 toss pillows in 2 sizes that were also recovered. Because 1 piece of the sectional was originally built as a chaise with only a half back, I asked Jeff if he could build out that piece with a full back & arm to match the other piece. He said he could, & he did! You would think the sectional was purchased in that configuration originally.
