I have had computer service several times mostly through Best Buy but also through an add I responded to. In all cases I had to bring my computer to them, be without it for up to a week and pay a lot of money. The worst part was I didn't know what they did or how to operate the protection devices they installed. Not so with Rob. He came to my house at the time he stated cleaned everything up and explained to me what he was doing. He gave me some tips and even installed a remote help button if I get stuck. He came back a second time to install more RAM at a very reasonable price. I have his card hanging by my desk and he is my new go-to guy for my computer.

He charged $80. I insisted that he take $100.

He got on the phone with the carrier and told them what was going on. He forced them to send a technician here. I was really happy with the service. He came in an hour or two after I called him. I have no complaints about him.

I tried to backup my computer onto an external hard drive (1st mistake, did not succeed), remove windows XP (second mistake, did not succeed) so I could add Windows 7 as XP is no longer supported. Unfortunately I forgot to pick up Windows for Dummies before I decided to try this on my own. Thank God for Angie's list because I found Rob Schmidt A+ Computer Service, who was willing to fix my mess. I'm sure he had to have wondered what the heck I had done but he was very kind, professional and I now have a computer better than when I bought it. Because of the distance between his business and my house I suggested we meet so he would not have to to travel the full distance he agreed and it worked out great for both of us. I had a LOT of pictures I thought I had backed up on the external HD but my computer froze and I couldn't check. I decided to check the Ext HD on my laptop before I brought my computer to him and they had not backed up. I told him I had backed everything up because I thought I had but thank God I decided to check at last minute, I lost my son and had a bunch of pictures I did not want to lose, which I told Rob when I handed him my external HD. He took everything said he would take care of things and he really did. My backup took 5 hours which he very graciously did, saved my pictures and did not charge me a penny more than he quoted me even though I gave him more work than I or he had planned on. He could have very easily said they were not there and saved himself a lot of time but he didn't. I can not thank him enough. I am very happy to have found someone I can feel totally comfortable with knowing he will do a GREAT job, has integrity will give you wonderful customer service., I did promise him I would call him first before I decide to fix anything myself again. Yes, he is definitely our "computer guy" now and I highly recommend anyone who needs their computer fixed to give Rob Schmidt a call. He will take good care of you! Thank you Angie's List

obviously, like most people I called because I didn't know how to hook up these new monitors in my home office. He spent the (60) second conversation condescending to me stating, "I don't understand what you're saying because a monitor does blah, blah, blah and this does yada, yada, yada, etc." I said, "if I knew what I was doing, I would NOT have called YOU! Thank YOU, Rob (Ned)!" Click! NEVER, EVER AGAIN!

This provider has enourmous technical knowledge. He displays a special gift in diagnosing and fixing computer problems. He went through my computer to remove all malicious programs and junk files. There is probably no computer problem that he cannot solve..

It went easy and Rob is the best

On a Saturday afternoon, I logged on to my computer. However, as soon as I tried to access web sites, I was bombarded by pop-ups and offers to "clean" my computer. The more I tried to exit these programs the more tangled in them I got. So, I grabbed the latest addition of the Angie's List magazine and looked up computers in the advertising section. The only one listed was A+ Computer Ser4vice, so I called. Remember, this was late Saturday afternoon. Rob answered immediately and I explained my problem. I am not technologically savvy! After some questioning, he figured out my issues. I had no virus protection and as a result my computer was really sick!! With my authorization, he logged on to my computer and cleaned out the infection, or should I say infestation. He then explain where I had screwed up and added the free virus protection program. My computer is working fine now. He spent about an hour plus with me and his fee was well worth paying to get my email favorite web sites back. I heartily recommend his company to anyone with computer issues.

Rob Schmidt, technician and owner of the company, promptly returned my phone call, arrived early on the day we agreed to, and got right to work. He did the rather tedious work of cleaning up my desktop, defragging the system, checked to make sure everything worked, made a recommendation to purchase a new modem, and even gave me a lesson on using my tablet. While he was working, he explained to me what he was doing and double checked to make sure that everything was working correctly. This process took about 2 hours. Mr. Schmidt was unfailingly clear and coherent, courteous, pleasant , knowledgeable, and in every way professional. My computer is functioning faster and more efficiently than it has in months. He earned the A+ in the name of his company. I would gladly employ him again, and happily recommend him to a friend or relative.

The representative did a good job. I had a problem with one area, and he responded very quickly and was able to do it virtually. Very pleasant person and very knowledgeable.

ROB ARRIVED AT MY HOME WITHIN AN HOUR AFTER I CONTACTED HIM. HE CHECKED MY COMPUTER FOR ANY POSSIBLE PROBLEMS WITH THE CONNECTIONS. HE THEN CHECKED THE INTERNET MODEM AND NOTED THAT THERE WAS NO SIGNAL FROM THE PROVIDER. I CONTACTED THE PROVIDER AND ROB TALKED WITH THE REP TELLING THEM IT WAS AN ERROR THROUGH THEIR SYSTEM. AFTER 2 OR 3 TRANSMISSIONS SENT BY THE PROVIDER - THE SIGNAL WAS BEING RECEIVED. ROB ALSO UPDATED MY SYSTEM WITH A FREE ANTI VIRUS PROGRAM. I TOLD ROB THAT I WILL RECOMMEND HIS SERVICE TO MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS IN THE AREA.

We were pleased and want to hire him in the future.

I was really disappointed. Maybe it was a lack of understanding between us. I think the guy could've done a little better. There's a problem that occurred and a lot of things happen with computer changes. I had a big problem reading my backup drive after the upgrade. The computer wouldn't recognize the drive. I had contacted some of the vendors to get some of my ancillary equipment to work. We went back and forth on it. I think he should've know better. I think he was a little be conceded, in the sense that "I've been doing this 20 years and I know what I'm doing, okay?" He did a fine job of changing the system over but I lost some of the photos because he couldn't access them on the backup. After about a month or so, he suggested putting a new PCI card in with some more USB ports on it. He was able to do the same thing on his laptop but it couldn't access it on my computer with USB ports. I'm really dissatisfied. It was very technical, when it went wrong, but I would never use this person again. He did the upgrade fine. With the one problem where I ended up losing some of my photos, if the guy had the experience that he kept telling me he had, he should've thought of this problem immediately. Eventually, I went out and bought a PCI card with USB ports on it, which solved the problem. All of my ancillary equipment worked. Everything worked fine. I think, in the end, he kept saying, "Well, you didn't do what I told you to do." I said, "Well, I did." He put in special software to do a backup and it literally never worked. The reason it didn't work was because of the USB port problem. I would be hesitant to recommend this guy. I think he's good. It may have just been that we got into a conflict and I think he let his own ego get into it. He doesn't come with the right approach. He responded to my phone calls and called me back. I think that he seemed to be too impressed with telling me how many years of experience he's had in the business. That was supposed to impress me, so I should take his word for everything that he knew what he was doing exactly. This is not professional.

Great service! Our regular computer guy was in the hospital so we gave A+ Computer Service a whirl. Rob lives up to the name"A+". He came to our home, (quite a trip from his) arrived on time and went to work of two home laptops, both badly infected. (Yes, my wife and I are computer boobs.) He spent more than two hours, keeping us both informed along the way as he went about cleaning out viruses and junk, making both computers run faster and more smoothly. He was patient in explaining how to avoid future problems and left us with some links on both computers to keep them running smooth. Some might consider it a little pricy at $250, but not too bad when you consider it involved two computers and he came from Cave Creek to S/E Gilbert. We would definitely use Rob again if we manage to screw up either, or both computers, (not unlikely) and recommend him to anyone needing service.

Rob is extremely prompt, responsive, professional and cordial. He is extremely knowledgeable in his trade and services. He diagnosed all of the problems immediately, and was able to promptly fix them. He explained what caused the problems, and how to avoid the problems in the future. He also went out of his way to show me several other things on the computer, and adjusted numerous settings, for our ease in using the computer. He was outstanding, and I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs help with their computer.

We had another computer tech attempt to get my husband's new Windows 7 laptop running well and finally after 3 very frustrating and nonproductive visits by the computer tech we called Rob to come over to see if he was able to get things straightened out. Rob was very prompt, courteous,very knowledgeble and also very patient when explaining to us what was going on. Rob changed browsers and took computer home to complete detailed virus scan ( computer was full of viruses) and returned it the next day. That was when Rob suggested that we purchase an all-in-one modem/router from Cox and came back later that afternoon to install and hookup. We were extremely pleased with Rob's service and professionalism and it was very obvious that Rob really knows what he is doing with computer problems and cares that his customers are happy and satisfied with a job well done.

Excellent service. Very professional. Took his time to be sure everything was working properly and to optimize computer's RAM.

Asked Rob to come by and evaluate my wi-fi. Briefed him on my set up and Centurylink service. Rob measured my signal strength and router location. His opinion confirmed my suspicions that my problem was with the provider. Reassuring check prior to changing service. Thanks.
