Northstar Services Clothes Dryer Vent Cleaning

He found two safety issues with our dryer that could have caused a fire and advised us what to do about it. He spent several hours making the dryer temporarily useable by by-passing the fire hazard area. He went above and beyond what he was supposed to do. He cares about his customers and their safety.

My experience was okay. He did a good job servicing the vents. He was a nice guy. I did not think he was very professional and he was a little messy. He talked a lot and he was little tense. He added a little stress to the situation. He was here for about 2 hours and he showed me what he found in the vents.

Excellent. A long vent from dyer to roof, tucked away in the attic, was cleaned thoroughly.

My next door neighbor had a laundry vent fire. Thankfully, no one was hurt. Firefighters arrived around 9PM at night, hooked up to the nearest fire hydrant and sprayed lots of water into the house. Was pretty ugly and the laundry room had to be gutted. So that happened. And I thought... wow... my laundry vent hasn't ever been cleaned or inspected... but it's probably not that bad... Still, I was motivated to look up dryer vent cleaning services and was shocked that most services start at $100 or more per dryer vent. Someone down the street paid $125 to get her dryer vent cleaned. So I searched Angie's List, found Northstar and this great group rate deal. There are no hidden charges... the pricing was upfront and did not change. I contact Northstar via email and Matt, the owner, very very responsive. Communication and scheduling was excellent. Matt was prompt and professional. He started by inspecting the duct work and was careful to take photos so he could more easily explain the repairs needed as well as document the before and after. As it so happened, my ductwork needed some small repairs, so I was able to inspect an 8 foot long section of the duct. I was very surprise to see my dryer vent was completely, 100% obstructed with lint. After Matt cleaned our dryer vents and ducts our dry time is back to 20 - 30 minutes per normal load. I will definitely use him again and highly recommend his services to others. What a bargain!

They seemed to do the job. They gave me good advise about pulling out the dryer to un-snag the hose to allow more dryer time. He checked to see if anything was clogged. It was a good deal.

Great service at a great price and very professional. He was very thorough. My exhaust vent is up on the roof and this did not deter him from taking his time to make sure everything was cleaned out. He explained what he was doing throughout the entire process and was very friendly. I will definitely use him again and highly recommend his services.

I think all service people should do that. He sent me a pic of before and after of the vents. The vent looks brand new and it was extremely dirty. Did a great job on both homes and Matt is very nice. The technician was prompt , friendly and did a very thorough job. The vent was a tricky one with a bend in it and went to the rooftop but he handled it with no problem. The dryer works much more efficiently since the cleaning. Highly recommended!!

The vents had not been cleaned for about twenty years. He was knowledgeable, efficient, and professional. Overall, I was pleased with the service.

Matthew was prompt and very courteous. He did his job well. He did encounter some problems which I had to call someone else in to repair. This however, was not his fault. He did his job well and I was pleased with his service.

After purchasing the deal, I reached out to him to schedule an appointment. He came out for the work a few days after I purchased the deal. For the appointment, he gave us a very large window for when he would arrive and then that day, he said he would be able to come that afternoon. When he came out to our house, he saw that our washer and dryer are inset in an area which it is not uncommon. He said that he could not move the dryer and complete the work. After he left I ended up calling another company and they were able to come out the same day and complete the dryer vent cleaning.

Great!!! The owner, Mathew Brown, does the work himself and gives a step by step explanation of what he is doing as he goes through the process of cleaning out your dryer vent. He also shows you how much lint he cleans out of your dryer vent system.

The person involved explained every procedure as he went along. He explained all the safety features needed for this vent and suggested the corporation replace and enlarge all the outside venting. This gentleman knew his business and did a fine job.

Arrived on time, very friendly. Showed me where my dryer vent exited the house and did a complete inspection and cleaning with before/after photos. Couldn't ask for more.

The provider seemed knowledgeable and helpful. He did not have the proper equipment to perform the job at our home.

Matthew was great. He showed up on time and was very pleasant. He looked over the vent system and said it would not be a good idea to do the cleaning. The vent system was not up to code and the material used was improper. There was two 90 degree junction boxes that his equipment would be able to clean. The roof vent was inaccessible as this was pretty much a sealed unit with small slats for air to pass through. He did offer to cut open the top and rig up a t-top for it was some materials he had in his vehicle. No charge for that. He also checked out the dryer and did some cleaning with that too. He was very gracious and said that if I wanted a complete refund I could do so if I please or he could come a later time to do the cleaning when I had the vent system repaired. I opted for the latter. Thanks Matt.
