A family owned and operated drywall contractor, providing complete drywall services in Arizona for over 20 years.

"tl;dr Tapepro does sub-par work and will take your money without finishing the job. Stay away unless you pay after the job is done and check his work after each step. Luis, the owner of Tapepro, has ZERO integrity and is only after the cash to buy a new lift kit for his truck and fatten his wallet. Paid Luis, the owner of TapePro up-front to do work. Remodeling a house that I had just bought - removing popcorn ceiling, taking out some walls, etc - and hired Luis to patch everything back up. It all started out well and he was doing a nice job for a good price. As he continued to do work I started seeing red flags but figured I was just being overly-nit picky. Things like carelessness when he was spraying the texture - he got it everywhere! The walls, the floor, etc. I figured he would clean it up when he was all done, so I let it go. He never ended up cleaning it up (if Angie's list let me I would attach some pics). Also, the texture didn't quite match the existing texture, but I just figured that was normal for a renovation - that it'd be hard to match. Later I found out that assumption was completely wrong, it is possible to match and Luis was just being lazy. Toward the end of the job Luis told me that he was going on vacation for a couple of weeks but that he would send a guy to finish the work. He asked if I could pre-pay for the remainder of the work, which I agreed to because my brother had vouched for him. He sends a third party worker over (probably a favor from his friend) to come and finish the work, which included cutting backer-board for two showers and patching several large holes of drywall. The worker did the fastest most crappy job I think he could muster - the drywall fabric was showing through the plaster and the blue board in the shower wasn't plum (he didn't even put cement board up! Big no-no); it was obvious that he just wanted to throw the stuff up and get out of there. His guy also didn't finish the full scope of work we had agreed to. I tried to contact Luis but he didn't answer for several days. He may have truly not been reachable I don't know. In any case when he finally did return my texts/calls he apologized and said he would come back and finish the work. I contacted him regularly asking when he would come and continually was pushed off. Eventually he stopped responding to me altogether. That leaves us to now- I had to pay another guy to come finish the work I had paid Luis to do. There are a lot of drywall guys out there that do quality work for a reasonable price...do yourself a favor and find one of them, stay away from Tapepro"

Kitchen and bathroom remodels FAQs

The cost of home remodeling is $50,000 for the average homeowner. However, this cost can range anywhere from $3,000 for a small project to $170,000 for a whole home remodel. Factors like project size, location, and room type all affect your overall cost. For example, bedroom remodeling costs are one of the least expensive projects, costing about $1,500 to $5,500 per bedroom. However, a kitchen remodel has a significant cost range, totaling anywhere from $14,500 to over $70,000.

Yes, most states require home remodeling contractors to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed home remodeling contractor could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

The best time of year to remodel your home is late winter and early spring when fewer homeowners are thinking about projects and pros are more available. Also consider the type of remodel you want and plan ahead as much as possible. For example, the summer is a great time of year to update your fireplace, but winter is a better option for fixing foundations and building room additions.

There are a few things you can do to prepare for a home remodeling project to ensure a smooth construction process. Creating a detailed budget can help you stay on track, especially with the excitement of new construction or upgrades. It’s also beneficial to map out a remodeling timeline with your contractor to have clear expectations. In addition, you’ll want to prepare the space that will be worked on ahead of time—this could be tarping furniture or entirely removing belongings from the room.

Home renovation insurance, sometimes called “dwelling under renovation coverage” or “builder’s risk insurance,” helps financially cover any damages that occur during the home renovation process. While different from typical homeowners insurance, many homeowners insurance policies already include some sort of home renovation insurance or offer it as an additional add-on. While this insurance isn’t necessary for every home remodeling project, it’s best to contact your insurance company to verify if it’s needed and what your coverage options are.
