Overall, they do a good job. A little pricey, but may be comparable to other services.

Services were performed as promised in a timely manner and the backyard landscape was done very nicely. Issues were resolved by owner very professionally, I plan to use them again the future.

Called Caballeros in the morning for an estimate. Left a message giving my information (phone number etc.) and a brief explanation of the work I wanted done. I Waited until late afternoon of the next day for a return call. When I didn't hear from him, I gave him the benefit of the doubt that perhaps he didn't get my message. This time he answered and when I explained the situation he said that he had handed my info over to his salesman and that he was supposed to contact me. He then told me he would have his salesman call me. It has been 2 days and still no call. Evidently he doesn't need the work anymore. I am currently looking for another landscaper who wants my business. Don't bother to call me Mr. Caballero.

The overall experience was good, however, there was an issue making the actual appointment. There was disconnect between the receptionist. Once the appointment was set, things went pretty well, with one exception. The fine print of the add indicated that you had to pay extra for trash bags to haul the excess from the yard work away. I was not aware of this and made the experience a little less than ideal.

TOOK FOREVER TO GET HIM TO SHOW UP. WHEN HE FINALLY SUBMITTED A DESIGN IT WAS AS IF HE DIDN'T HEAR A WORD WE SAID IE:NO CACTUS, TROPICAL GREENERY. HE REDID IT?SAME PROBLEM. HIS DESIGNS SEEMED TO BE DRAG AND DROP COMPUTER GRAPHICS AND NOT EVEN CLOSE TO ANYTHING WE ASKED FOR. NOT EVEN CLOSE TO WORTH THE MONEY.

Getting the designs via e-mail made for a prompt response, and enabled me to save the designs on my computer. Great service.

They were excellent and it worked very well. I purchased it in November but I didn't have time to get them until February. He's a very nice guy and he did a great job. They did a first pass because I had a rock waterfall done in my backyard and I asked them to put a few more blocks in there and he was happy to do it. He came back and I really happy with the final product. He did not roll it into the price that was quoted but we did negotiate back and forth and I forgot to take that in consideration that I already paid him $79. He did gave me a better price when we are negotiating so I wouldn't have the nerve to say that I want credit for the $79 as well. I'm still happy with the price. I would recommend him. The quality was very good. It took longer than the expected that he said he would come and he didn't come but it made it part of my problem because I said I'm not in a hurry. He was responsive. I like the way he handles himself and I felt like he truly want me to be happy with what was produced.

Overall, the company does a good job. I had the same experience as some of the other reviewers as far as it being hard to contact Juan at times and punctuality. However, the work done by the landscaping crews has been excellent and the yard looks much better than it did with our previous landscaping company.

I was satisfied with the plan and asked for some feedback on what Caballero might be able to do and what the approximate cost would be. I did not receive a response to that question. We are proceeding ourselves in phases on the plan, contacting specialists as needed.

I purchased an Angie's List deal for landscape design and evaluation for $79 on 12/5/13. Via messaging through Angie's List, we set-up an appointment for 5 pm on 12/10/13. Well, 5 o'clock came and went without any appearance or call from Juan with Caballero's Landscape. I emailed Caballero's that evening and advised Juan missed our appointment and I asked them to call me back to reschedule. Two days went by without any contact from Caballero's, so I called and spoke to Juan. He said the girl that handles his email/messaging didn't give him the appointment, he apologized and we rescheduled the appoinment for 1:00 on 1/13/10. Well, 1 o'clock came and went with no call from Juan or Caballero's, so I started resumed working on a bathroom remodel in my home. Juan finally showed up after 2:00 while I was knee deep in the remodel, he had some lame excuse-- I should have sent him away then, but he was personable, so I quickly went through what landscape ideas and wishes I had. I also told him that I had some foundation work done the prior week and asked if he could backfill the excavated area. He assured me they could handle the backfill job (eight 3x3x3 holes) and he would email me his landscape design by 12/17/13. His guys did the backfill on 12/17/13 while I was at work. When I came work, I notice that the ground was not compacted very well (they were to use a hydraulic compactor or "jumping jack") and I called Juan with my concerms. He said a jumping jack was used, but they could come back after the holidays to re-do the job, he also said that I will receive the landscape design before Christmas. Surprise!, I did not receive the landscape design by Christmas. His guys were to show up at 8:00 am on 1/4/14 to compact the backfilled area and when no one had showed up by 9:30, I called Juan and asked him where they are, he said there was a problem with the jumping jack and they would be there within 1 hour. Two guys finally showed up around 90 mins later and proceeded to re-do the job. They commented that it didn't look or feel like much compacting was done by the first crew. I advised them that my 9 pound cat couldn't walk across the area without sinking, and I sank more than 6 inches in some places. The crew confided that they are not part of Juan's company and that he had just called them THAT MORNING and asked them to do him a favor and come to my house. So, even though we had a standing appointment, Juan didn't have anyone scheduled to come to my house. These guys did good work (Juan's first crew knocked the stucco off my house in 2 places) and the backfilling and compacting was much better. I still had not received my landscape design by 1/7/14, so I emailed Juan and told him that if I did not get the design by 1/10/14 then I would ask Angie's List to help me secure a refund. Lo and behold, Juan emailed the design to me that day with another apology for the delay. I am SO tired of dealing with him and the excuses and poor work, that I have barely even looked at it. I consider it a waste of $79. Needless to say, Juan and Caballero's Landscaping will not be doing my landscaping job.

I called Caballero Landscapes to get an estimate for my job. Juan showed up on time, gave me numerous choices for the patio I called him for. We discussed different options and I got a very good price quote for the job I needed done. The job started on schedule and was completed as promised. I am absolutely thrilled with the result. His crew was great, conducted themselves professionally. I would definitely use them again and can honestly recommend them to anyone needing their services.

Juan from Caballero's responded promptly when purchase was made and we set a date and time for him to come by and see the yard for landscape design initial consultation. Date was set for Thursday 12/05/13 at 12PM. By 1Pm i called him to enquire when he would be arriving since he was an hour late and had not called and advised me of his delay. He said he was running behind because he was very busy and asked if he could come at 4PM. I explained that I could not be available at that time and that we would need to find another time. We rescheduled for Saturday 12/07/13 at 12PM. He showed up an hour late and we proceeded to the back yard where he asked what we wanted done. We discussed and he took a few notes and decided on what we wanted as a plan. He said he would get back to us in about a week with the design drawings. Finally got the design drawings after approxiamately 2 weeks and only after I called to follow up. He said to get with him for any changes and he would get a quote once we decided on the final design. Two days later, without any contact, the quote came and did not exactly match what the design looked like. (i.e. - quoted adding a patch of grass that was not in the plan and had been decided against in the beginning, adding another irrigation system besides the one I already have there) The quote compared to some of the quotes I have received was extremely high and overpriced. Juan offered no changes or room for negotiation as it seemed like he was too busy.

We had to have him come back because of the freeze, nothing to do with his work, we had him come back out because the freeze made our drip system on the top end. A lot of it has disengaged. It leaked everywhere. He came out and he fixed it all at no charge. He put a new type of system across the back for all the bushes that had to get watered. Usually you will hear back from Juan within the first day of contacting him. Then he will let you know his schedule. Because he is so good, he is very busy.

Juan provided a quote that was reasonable and he was true to his price quote. The work was well done and the workers as well as Juan were always on time, curtious, very respectful and cleaned the work station before they left every evening. I highly recommend this company and would not hesitate to recommend them to my friends or anybody else for that matter..

It might have gone well if they'd bothered to return the call

Caballero means Gentlemen or Knight in Spanish. For us Juan and his Knightly Gentlemen lived up to the standard "Caballero's Landscape" implies. This is not to say the experience was perfect, but it was as close as you can expect in the middle of spring (landscaping?s busiest season). In my quest to find a landscaper for our backyard in our newly built Taylor Morrison home I called at least 8 or 9 folks getting a rough idea for paver cost (as this was the bulk of our need) and his over the phone quote of about $5/sf was consistent from what I could get out of those that would tell me a price over the phone. Juan was the only one that I got "a good feeling" from over the phone and only one of two or three that even called me back when they said they needed to "crunch some numbers". Juan was able to quote me the numbers I needed on our first call. The second time I called him to say I'd like to use him as our landscaper he was able to come out the very next day to look and write up our bid. Juan did show up about twenty minutes late for our first meeting, but he did call shortly after the agreed time to assuage my fears he would not show up. We talked about what we wanted done and agreed on the quote he wrote up. He promised to start work early if he could but I didn't really expect this as it is spring. A week after our meeting and bid write up his gentlemen showed up on the day promised around the time promised and there were consistently four to six men working in our back yard each day for about 6 days. He said it would take four but as I told him I thought that was a bit optimistic based on the amount of work to be done. Some of our neighbors have used other landscapers, Advant-Edge among them and I have seen them take weeks to a month for the same size backyard with not much more in work to be done... The only thing or two I can really find fault with is one small two feet section of our paver divider between the sod and the rock is slightly dipped down from the ground not being properly leveled. But it doesn't bother me to be honest. This division between the grass area and the granite (along the edge of the yard) was initially requested as concrete curbing, but when they were done with the patio and the walkway they still had a large quantity of paver stone left over and asked if I would be ok with a paver separation between the granite and the sod. I would have done the same thing if I was to try and embark this massive project myself, if I already had the material I would have done the same thing instead of buying more of a different type of material. Considering they put in a complementary drip system (originally verbal quoted at another $1000) I can't really complain about this, but I will have more opportunity for weeds now as this division was only concreted down but no sand in between the pavers in this case ( they did use polymeric sand in the patio and walkway joints proper). The pavers are used instead of the curbing are about 5" x 5" so instead of every two feet or so for a joint in concrete curbing weeds will have the opportunity to pop up every 5 inches or so. But this really is a small issue to me and I agreed to it. They would have taken another day and done the concrete curbing as I originally requested if I would have stuck to my guns but this was day 5 of the work and I felt bad for them so I agreed to go with the paver "curbing" division. In summary, Caballero's Landscaping took our plain dirt backyard and transformed it into a beautiful backyard our family can relax and play in in only 6 short days. His men were courteous and friendly with near perfect workmanship. I will definitely use them again for any future landscaping needs and have already showed off our new backyard to one of our neighbors who were impressed and took a business card from one of the workers to consider for their bare backyard transformation.

Requested a bid from Caballero's Landscape and Juan Caballero was out the next day. He was quick and accurate with his estimate and was in the mid-range of all the estimates I received. His crew is professional, courteous, and punctual. I changed plans several times during the weeklong work and Juan was unflappable and flexible with the changes. I would highly recommend Caballero's Landscape to anyone (my neighbor hired him on my recommendation) and will use them for all of my future landscaping, paver, and gravel needs.

I was new to Arizona and did not know much about the irrigation systems. I thought I had a leak in the back yard. They told me I needed a completely new system. They installed the new system without removing the old and put in a cheap new timer that did not need to be replaced. They replaced sprinkler heads that were working fine and left holes in the ground around them. If you would happen to step into those holes, you would at very least, twist an ankle. Later, I found out that I paid three times to much for the work.

They are excellent. I was very satisfied with their services.

I got them through Angie's list. I have had 3 visits from them so far. I have been very satisfied. At the end they were late than expected. They should have handled it better. They were very apologetic and not a problem afterwards. I would use them in the future, if I needed to.

The first time they came out, they did everything as promised. The work was done well. The second time I called them, it took them about two weeks to respond. The first time when they came out, they were so good. The second time again, it took them so long to get here. I’m not sure if I will use their services again in the future.

I used him because he was in the same town as my property and most of the rest were not. He was very good and he was on time. His pricing was reasonable.

We called them on a Tuesday, he was out the next day. He was knowledgeable, and informative and promised a bid quickly. Which he did. His knowledge was appreciated because we have gopher issues salty well water, and also we irrigate and he knew what materials would be the best. His crew started the next Mondays and they were very prompt, polite, and remained on task. They were either on time or early, and usually worked until 5:30pm a couple of times even later. It was refreshing to have a contractor be thorough, and complete. We intend to use them for more of our projects. Juan was very professional.

They were professional and well equipped for the job. The job was completed in a timely manner at a reasonable price.
