Description of Work: Very professional yet approachable, does use voicemail instead of "live" receptionist but was very prompt in responding to messages. | |Called day before job to confirm time, arrived within 15 minute window, discussed the plan, began work promptly. Appeared to use protective leather gloves and sleeves, eye/ear protection, safety zones and stowed cutting equipment away safely before bringing out subsequent tools; carries liability insurance. 2 trees trimmed/thinned & corrected overgrowth to withstand wind. Advised fertilization types/schedule and watering schedules. Cleaned under trees, walkways and curb, chipped debris and hauled away. Presented invoice for payment. | |We especially appreciate the ISA himself being on-site, not just sending a crew of "certified" tree trimmers. Last year we contracted a company whose arborist told us a damaged limb which worried us would be cut off lest it split the trunk. When the crew arrived without him they refused to cut the limb off and he couldn't be reached by phone. (Crew ran VERY late for appt, wanted us to reschedule another day, then tried to walk off the job until my husband reached someone at the office.) | |With monsoon coming we can understand the other Angies List ISA we contacted the end of April, were booked out til June, as was Professional Tree Service. They were able to get to us within 3 weeks time at no extra charge for "emergency" or urgency. Even with AL discount others were MUCH more expensive, while PTS was the same we paid last year for inferior service from another ISA. After that we joined Angies List.

Description of Work: I am a certified Master Gardener so I am trained and know how to trim & prune trees properly. But when I have a tree issue I have one man I call, Michael Ackerson. He is a certified arborist. Mike looks at the shape of the tree, knows how the trees is suppose to grow and look when mature. He doesn't cut too much, too often or incorrectly which stresses and weakens the tree. FYI: Every time I visit a shopping area, a mall, school, or public facilities, I cringe and get so angry at the hack jobs by landscapers! Landscapers are cheap and they know how use their blowers, dig holes, haul debris, spread gravel BUT think shrubs should be pom-poms, they will whack your trees too to near death! Landscapers have no training in proper tree trimming, regardless of how many years experience they have abused trees with their saws and bushes with hedge trimmers. When people hear Arborist they think $$$$ but, if done properly you only have to do it 3-5 years and is well worth the cost! DO NOT HIRE A LANDSCAPER TO TRIM YOUR TREES! HIRE AN ARBORIST! HIRE: Michael Ackerson.
