Stellar Decks

My story began when a huge oak tree landed on my house and deck during Hurricane Sandy. Alone that would be enough stress for anyone but my 17 year old (at the time) was undergoing his last 2 weeks of chemotherapy for brain cancer as well. It had been a long 8 months of chemo and 7 weeks of radiation. So to say that I was stressed was an understatement. I had to repair my roof and house first and when it came time to repair the deck, I had no idea who to choose. A family member was going to help us, but had backed out at the last minute. I then decided to get names of people from suppliers and proceeded to make some calls. Right from the start, Keith was very attentive to our concerns financially and emotionally, and I got a very good feeling that he was the one to choose to rebuild our deck. The work that was done was absolutely stunning! Keith made sure that all details were taken care of with the utmost care. I am very picky and he was so polite and willing to make sure that I was happy with the job. This was a substantial job and I don't believe that anyone could have done it any better or even as well. I can't say enough about Stellar decks, and the owner Keith. He was always on the job and his staff was very good. They came regularly and arrived promptly. Keith (the owner of Stellar Decks) and his crew did an outstanding job. We had a large Cedar deck on 3 sides of our home plus two cedar walkways which were wrecked during Sandy. The retaining wall along the main walkway was bowing and had to be rebuilt. The rest of the deck was rotting in many spots and was in desperate need of repair. The walkways had been twisted and were unsafe to walk on and needed to be completely replaced. We got multiple quotes from contractors and Keith gave us a very fair and competitive price. We had both walkways rebuilt, a new retaining wall built, a new railing installed on the back deck and the entire surface of the deck on 3 sides of our home resurfaced, all with TimberTech decking. Everything came out exactly as we hoped and looks fantastic. Keith was very prompt with returning calls and was very professional with all aspects of the job from start to finish. Keith was present during the entire job. They started at 7 sharp every day and left the property clean when they left. They are a professional and courteous crew. Keith was also very helpful when it came to design ideas and did not pressure any decisions one way or the other. I would highly recommend Keith and Stellar Decks to anyone in need of Deck work.

Unfortunately due to severe water damage and rot of my flat roof, the Trex deck Keith had recently installed had to be removed. This is was in no way his Keith's fault. It was just an unfortunate situation in which the flat roof that the deck was sitting on had sprung a leak and upon investigation it was determined the roof had to be replaced and in order to do so the new Trex deck had to be removed as well. I called Keith to inform him of the situation, and he was willing to work around our time schedule and the roof repair company's as well. To say that Keith was fair and flexible is an understatement. The situation I was in, could have easily been financially taken advantage of. However Keith is an honest business man and he billed only for what was needed to remove and reinstall the Trex deck and support floor. Keith, thank you for your honesty. My apologies for writing this review so late. To anyone considering using his services, you will not find a better company out there. Just call him once, or twice...maybe a third time. He is hard to reach at times, but worth the effort!

Keith - the owner of Stellar Decks - is a real "down to earth" owner/contractor. He is able to sit down with you and make a plan that works for everyone. Keith and his crew are very professional and neat and take great pride in their work. Keith does the plan, Keith does the estimate and Keith is in charge of the work everyday. This is a welcome change to firms that send out separate folks for each of the tasks. With Keith and his crew in charge from start to finish you can depend on a reasonable cost for the project because he keeps his overhead down - but he has great professional looking truck that will impress you when they come to your property. I received another bid from a larger LI company that also specializes in decks and that other firm's price - using the same product as Keith - was around 50% higher than Keith's! Because Keith does the work himself with his crew you need to plan ahead to use him as he is in high demand. He says he is able to do around 32 decks a year, so do yourself a favor and contact him soon so you can get on his 2014 calendar. Keith is a real gentleman, he went out of his way to complete the work on a tight schedule and we would recommend him to anyone that is considering a deck.

Keith and his men did a fantastic job. They did not cut corners at all . They were not the least expensive of the estimates I received . I am thoroughly happy and satisfied with the job they did. They were timely and truly professional. They will also be building a new patio for me in the spring. I highly recommend them. Their work is impeccable.

Keith Camacho of Stellar Decks is an excellent contractor in every facet of the job. He came to my house to discuss how to do the job right. He did not send a salesman who does not know what he's doing. In addition, he stayed at the job site the entire time making sure everything was done correctly. It's easy to see he's a true professional with no challenge that is too big for him. There are amy decisions when building a deck - wood, style, whether or not to replace the old frame. He gave me good, straight answers for all my many questions. In additon, he promptly answered all my emails in depth for a period of three weeks. He built a very high quality deck with which I am very happy. He also beat three competitors' prices even before I received the Angie's List discount. He's a man of his word and, at no time, did he change the prcing and gave me exactly what he contracted. There was no skimping or adding to the cost at all. His style of doing wood railings is better than any of the railings I've seen. He really wants to please the customer and his crew was hard-working and did a great clean up job. Some reviews say that he's slow in answering phone calls. I know he's busy out in the field alot but he answered every, single email I sent him quickly and some of my calls. He was good enough to come back after the job and do some finishing touches for me that I wanted at no additional cost. The next time I need a deck I will not hesitate to call him. He's highly trustworthy and experienced. This was a great experience and I even enjoyed watching them build the deck. He also gave me good recommendations about how to stain the deck the correct way. Do not hesitate if you want a high quality deck. This is the company for you with a caring owner who knows what he's doing.

The owner, Keith Camacho, was on-site the whole time. The wood surface of my deck was removed and carted away. The under-structure was leveled. The top was replaced with white cedar planks and secured using camo screws. Two new sets of steps and a new sill leading to the sliding glass door were installed. I am very pleased with the work. Mr Camacho was responsive to all my questions and concerns. I love my new deck and would certainly use his services again. In addition to being punctual and having enough men on the job to get it done quickly, he did an excellent clean-up job after completion.

I had called earlier in the summer and decided to try again, thinking the firm was overwhelmed at the time of my earlier calls. I believe my timing was not a factor.

They were good, but we ended up going with someone else who was cheaper, but they were very professional. They gave me 2 different quotes and I liked them. A friend of my boyfriend gave me a lower quote and that is why I didn't use them. I was very happy with the fact that he came, and looked at my deck, and he was very upfront about what needs to be done, and he even made a free drawing of what my deck could look like, and he sent it to me. They were very responsive, they called me back right away, they scheduled an appointment, and everything happened very quickly. He was on time, I think he was early. If I had to do the work again, I would use them, I just didn't have the money this time.

I’m very happy with the result. They rebuilt the deck quickly and they employee were on-time and cleaned up well after themselves.

Keith Camacho, the owner of Stellar Decks came out on time for the estimate. Gave detail drawings and estimate few days later. Weather delayed the start of the project. The project was completed in a professional and timely matter. Keith and his crew were great. Would recommend to others.

I sent emails to three to five contractors I found on Angie's list to request an estimate for a new deck. Keith was the only one to respond within 24 hr hours. I followed up with some of the others but ultimately choose Stellar Deck's because of Keith?s positive attitude and enthusiasm to do my deck. We choose to use Trek material for our deck and choose a color the same day Keith came to give us an estimate. He sent us an estimate within 24hrs and was willing to work with our budget. We set an estimated start day two weeks later but pushed back another week or due to our busy schedules. We ended pushing back another two weeks, again due to our busy schedules. During this time via email we went back and forth on design and color options. I didn?t want to do the entire deck in one color with the slants going in one direction as it would have come out looking plain and boring. Thanks to Keith?s experience and design ideas, we ended up doing a picture frame layout and complementing the Lava Rock color with a Spiced Rum color. Keith?s crew were polite, courtesy and took care not to damage anything as they removed the old material and brought in the new material. They cleaned everything up and did a great job. My overall experience with Keith was excellent and I would highly recommend him.

Excellent job. They were on time and finished the job in 2 days as promised. Excellent price for the Trex deck we selected. Professional, personable, paid attention to details we wanted. Would highly recommend Stellar Decks to anyone.

We made an appointment to get an estimate on replacing two balcony decks on the second floor of our home. Keith Camacho, the owner, arrive on schedule to look at the existing decks, measure them and give us an estimate. He brought samples of several decking materials in all colors for us to pick from. After measuring the decks, he explained the types of materials and how they would be installed. The estimate arrived via email within a few days. The price was reasonable and the work started in less than a week and we did not have to be there for the installation work. In one day, the two decks were demolished, hauled away and two beautiful trex decks installed.

Keith was on time each day and completed the project on time. The deck looks great and I would not hesitate to hire him again and recommend Keith to friends and family.

They offered a very nice presentation and very knowledgable, They came prepared with many samples. They were on the high end of pricing. He even came back to the home with the estimate rather than emailing or mailing. That was a very nice gesture.

We drove Keith quite crazy, switching materials and color decisions and he never once complained. He even stopped over a few times to deliver sample materials so we could make our decision easier. He was honest, courteous and the porch came out fantastic. Would not hesitate to call him again.

Keith and I discussed the project, looked at the yard, worked out the details and had a deck built before I knew it! The decking is so beautiful and was a breeze working with Keith! The details were exactly as we discussed. I would gladly recommend Keith and would happily work with Stellar Decks in the future. Very happy with the work.
