Description of Work: They gave me an estimate on two decks.

Description of Work: Looking to replace our old cedar deck that was worn and falling apart, we found Stellar Decks on Angie's List. With more than 60 positive reviews, Stellar Decks met out initial requirement of an "A" rated company with a high number of reviews. We had a really good experience with owner, Keith Camacho, right from the start. Keith showed up exactly on time; looked over our old deck and talked to us about any changes we were wanted to make and his recommendations and took measurements before sitting with us to discuss the options and costs. Despite our love of wood, the more we had researched the newer composite materials the more we were attracted to their low maintenance as compared to the constant maintenance that wood demands. Keith also recommended them highly, some more than others, and he had several good ideas that would not only improve the look but also reduce the cost by saving on lumber waste. He left several catalogs of different decking materials, products and colors for us to review them and later sent us some estimates by email. He took the time to price everything, decking, railings, gazebo, steps, trim etc., for us in different materials (all vinyl, vinyl clad composites and even several different types of woods). We decided on a Timbertech product from the pictures of decks shown in their brochure. When we told Keith what we had decided, he encouraged us to come down to his outdoor showroom to see the boards and color combinations on an actual deck before making a decision. He was even willing to come down and open the showroom for us on a Sunday to accommodate my very busy work schedule at the time. His advice turned out to be spot on. Although the product we had chosen was very nice, we both fell in love with a completely different wood look and color, which was our final pick. Keith and his crew started our deck a few weeks later and we found them to be professional, trustworthy, conscientious and reliable. They are respectful of the homeowner; exhibit an exemplary work ethic; and turn out a first-rate work product. Every day when they left the job site for the day, it was clean and tidy and all debris or other eyesores removed. After the job was done and we were moving furniture back onto the deck, we noticed a few small open spaces between some of the cedar shake shingles on the gazebo roof and called Keith to point it out. He was totally responsive and showed up shortly after we spoke to assess the problem. I was under the impression that the bottom shakes could have been changed to correct the problem but Keith felt that the better solution was to redo the entire roof. He came back with his crew within a few days and corrected it to our complete satisfaction, taking a day and a half to remove the shakes and re-shingle. We expressed our regret that it required so much more work than we had anticipated, but Keith’s response reflected the attitude of the consummate professional we had come to expect. He stated that he would not be satisfied unless we were and, moreover, he was merely protecting his work and reputation. We are very pleased and would recommend Keith and his crew without reservation. His responsiveness to correcting the problem mentioned above stands in stark contrast to that of the original deck builder who had a similar problem with the gazebo roof, but, despite promising to come back and fix the problem and our several follow-up calls, never showed up. We gave up eventually and decided our best recourse was to let anyone who inquired about our deck know how dissatisfied we were with that particular deck builder. It was gratifying to find an excellent and trustworthy alternative in Stellar Decks!

Description of Work: Keith built a deck for me in 2012. I am looking to complete the backyard with pavers, etc. and wanted to obtain an estimate from Keith for the job. Unfortunately, after leaving voicemails and sending e-mails, Keith has not called to discuss project.

Description of Work: He replaced my entranceway into by back door (small deck and 5 steps) with composite decking, the new trex product, and hauled away the old debris.

Description of Work: Keith from Stellar Decks helped design and develop the idea of a pergola to complete our backyard project. He researched the design, materials, and fixturess that were available for our design. After deciding on the design and materials, Keith and his crew constructed the pergola with amazing craftmanship and detail. He hand customized the red cedar wood header and joist (cut, shaped, and stained) and erected the pergola with amazing attention to detail. We need to mention that Keith was able to work with our other contractors to perform his tasks in a timely matter to make managing the complete project without any difficulty and with complete cooperation from all our contractors.
