Home Depot had installed the carpet originally. They would not repair it. They would only replace the whole room. So I started calling carpet suppliers asking for references for repair. Most just said they did not deal with repairs and that was it. After telling me they did not do repairs the fellow on the phone at Dixie Floors said he would give me the name and number of the man who installed carpet for them. Said he might be able to help. I called Keven about 11:30am and had to leave a voice mail. About thirty minutes later he called and I told him what I had and he said, "sure I can do that. I'm finishing a job in about two hours and will come by and look at it to see if it can be done." I told him were I lived and in about three hours he called me about three blocks from where I live and I talked him in to our home. We did not have any carpet pieces left over from the original installation so I had him take a small piece from the back of a small closet. He had some scrap pieces in his truck and trailer so put a piece in the closet and it is unseen when all clothes are in. Kevin had a wooden door from the last job he was having to carry home to saw some off the bottom so he could put it back up on his last job he had come from. I had a circular saw so while he was repairing our carpet he had his retired father-in-law along with him just observing what he did to trim the bottom of the door. Took Kevin about thirty minuted to make our entrance way in the front door area look like new. My wife and I can't believe it. Kevin is nice, he is professional. He has been working with carpet for twenty-one years even though he is still relative young. I can't tell you how much he charges because when he was done he would not let us pay him. He said he had had a blessed day and we had kept him from having to drive a long way home to shorten the door and he could then take back and finish his last job. In his conversations I did gather he has to be reasonable in his pricing. He is an installer for about five local carpet sales shops. So, if you need carpet repair it may be beyond repair but if it can be repaired then Kevin at 870-330-1481 is the one to call. (I realize this may sound like a setup to make it look like Kevin is the man but I am telling you the truth he is! Not because he would not let us pay him but because of the job he did. And he is a pleasant person to be around.)
Description of Work: We had a small dog that had torn out an inch+ wide by about eight inches long off the carpet in our entry way. Carpet repair services are pretty next to nothing locally.
