Description of Work: Services performed included dusting, storing clutter, cleaning my entire kitchen and kitchen cabnet doors, sweeping, cleaning two bath rooms, and moving furniture for the carpets to be cleaned.

Description of Work: Today - August 24, 2011 - My reply to their response [please read my earlier note first, and the response provided by this company]. I arrived on JUNE 6, and the grass was extremely tall--in places a FOOT tall, so I don't understand this business about Ms. Hoffman coming out earlier and getting the grass perfect. If that had been the case I wouldn't have had him come out, I wouldn't have paid an "advance" payment and we wouldn't be having this dispute now would we? It was not cut just 4 days earlier as alleged by Ms. Hoffman. In fact, a friend and I proceeded to try to cut it down with a cordless electric mower and that was unsuccessful because the grass was so tall and thick we wouldn't get far before it died. This claim doesn't even make sense insofar as she admits in her response that the $250 was an ADVANCE PAYMENT. The grass was quite tall on June 6th when I arrived, so I have no idea why she is claiming she "had the yard looking great." The claim that Mr. Payne "finished the yard and brought the tractor home" is simply false. He did NOTHING except come get his tractor! I HAVE SEVERAL TEXT FROM HIM IN WHICH HE KEPT MAKING EXCUSES AS TO WHY HE FINISH THE JOB I'D PAY HIM FOR, HE CLAIMED TO BE EITHER SICK OR BUSY. I WOULD BE GLAD TO FORWARD THESE TEXTS TO ANGIE'S LIST SO YOU CAN INDEPENDENTLY VARIFY THIS! THESE ARE HIS WORDS, AND INCONSISTENT WITH THIS CLAIM THAT THE JOB WAS FINISHED AND THE MONEY WAS FOR WORK COMPLETED. His texts promising to finish the work is completely at odds with the claim which I am now hearing for the first time that I'd already received all of the services I had paid for. The yard was not completed and the pasture was never started. Mr. Payne never before suggested that he had completed the work, he always acknowledged it needed to be finished and promised that he would finish it, and provided excuses and delays until he just wouldn't respond any more. I HAVE SAVED THESE TEXTS FROM HIM PROMISING TO COME OUT AND FINISH! Now why in the world was he promising to come out and finish if he already did the work as claimed? After I paid him so he could supposedly fix his tractor he simply moved onto his next "big" job--thanks to having received money from me which he claimed he needed to fix his tractor--and did not finish the work. He continued to promise he would return, claiming he was busy, sick, etc. All of this is 100% inconsistent with the claim that he had performed the work. Of course I called many times (emailed and texted too) to find out why he had taken my money, kept making excuses and would not finish the work, refund my money or even call with an explanation, but the "all hours of the night" is an exaggeration. Who wouldn't be calling under these circumstances? I also see that information on Angie's list about this company now says he is NOT insured. He told me that he was insured at the time.
