I recently purchased used furniture for the living room: 1 sleeper sofa, 1 loveseat, 1 ottoman. I wanted the upholstery cleaned and selected Steam'n Joe's because they had the best price (by far). I had an appointment with them on Friday at 4 in the afternoon. One hour later, at 5, I give them a call because they had not showed up yet. The service truck on route to my home had broken down, but they assured me they were getting it fixed and still going to make it in about an hour. An hour and a half later, I give them another call, still a no-show. They were still broken down, having trouble fixing the service truck. I decided that was alright and I would reschedule for the following Monday, 10 am. On Monday at 10:30am the company had still not shown up, I called the main office and the owner said he was aware of the difficulty with the truck on Friday and knew we had rescheduled for that morning, he said to his knowledge, a worker was on his way to my home for the appointment. It is 11:00 am and I still have no upholstery cleaner here. Then, I get a phone call (first phone call I have received from them, they did not call any time before informing me that they were late or there were truck problems, etc. I have had to call so far to get any information.) it was the actual serviceman who was scheduled to come to my house. He informs me that he has "over slept" and will be on his way soon. One hour later, at 12 (noon) he FINALLY shows up. He could tell I was not happy I had been so inconvenienced by this service. He apologizes and gets to work. The work was good, the one spot that was on one cushion of the sofa did come out. The furniture looked much better. He steam cleaned my living room floor, as a curtesy, for all the problems. I was not satisfied with this, my carpets did not need to be cleaned. I called the manager and he gave me a 50% discount. So, not only did they have the cheapest price of all the competitors in town, but they gave me 50% off for all the troubles. The manager, Joe, was very apologetic and said "I'm sorry you did not get the service you deserved." I was pleased with the end result and the price was right, just a good thing I was not scheduled to work those days and I had time to wait on them to get there.
