Seaside Pools & Spas

On March 18th we used their online form to schedule Pool Opening Service for the week of April 24th. Very convenient right? We received a prompt reply via email from a human to notify us that our appointment request had been received and that they would send us confirmation soon. On April 3rd we still had not heard back from them so I emailed their service team to follow up on confirmation. They replied promptly with confirmation that we had been added to the schedule for the week of April 24th and that someone would contact us with a more specific appointment details once we got closer to that week. On Wednesday April 24th we still had not heard back from them so I called to follow up. They looked up my address and name and told me their system had the wrong customer info attached to my address and apparently one of their service techs was about to go to the wrong house in a different city. They took my information (again) and told me they would have someone out to do the service that Friday or Saturday. By Friday April 26th we still hadn't received the 24hr notice they said we would probably get so I called them to follow up. Once again they said they had the wrong information in their system, so they took my information (for the 3rd time), and they also vaguely mentioned that someone had been fired because of the scheduling issues and appologized for the inconvenience. The assured me that someone usually calls within 24hrs of their arrival. Unfortunately they said they would have to move our appointment to the following week. I couldn't believe it but that next week played out exactly the same way: Nobody called us, nobody showed up. So on Thursday May 1st I hopped on Angie's List and scheduled service with an A-rated provider who bumped us to the top of their schedule given our circumstances (pool cover had been off for 10 days while waiting for Seaside to come open it). It was refreshing to experience that level of customer service. I even told them we weren't looking to "cut in line" but that we just wanted to get on the next available appointment. They insisted. I then called Seaside and cancelled service. NOTE: It looks like I'm the first person to submit a review for Seaside Pools. I have no idea whether or not our experience is common for their new customers. I would hope not. Perhaps it was just the perfect storm of computer problems, employee mistakes etc....I'm not sure. Hopefully everyone else's experience with them has been better than ours. Regardless of your experience good/bad I would urge you to submit reviews on Angie's List. I would hate for our review to be the only one posted for this provider :(
