It went very smoothly. Tenants were happy to have air-conditioning back on so promptly. Our company has eleven rentals throughout Fayetteville and we use Paschal Heat, Air, and Geo for our HVAC service. They are not the least expensive, but they are the most reliable, easy to get ahold of, and perform quality work steps above the others we've used. They always get it right the first time and this is important as we have very little time to devote to managing other company's employees. In the long run, this really saves us money and a lot of headaches. Top ratings: they've earned it as far as I'm concerned. Superior job on the home front as well!

The Field Manager who arrived to give me an estimate for work was knowledgeable and helpful; we discussed issues and solutions as well as costs. Tech arrived as scheduled and proceeded to remove old ductwork and make cuts for new runs. The insulated metal replacement ductwork was installed along with the new duct lines, as agreed upon. Vent covers were replaced and an additional air return was cut and outfitted with cover. Work area was left cleaned of debris; all removed parts and trash were hauled off. In addition to having a cleaner system the house has heated & cooled far more evenly since this work was done. Oh...I can no longer see the location of the ducts and vent attachments through snow on the roof!

I called and left a message over the weekend about needing service. I got a call first thing from them which is why I went with them. Their service fee was $79, about normal for A/C companies. He came quickly and diagnosed the problem. While he was here, I was getting returned calls from several other companies I had left messages with over the weekend as well. For future reference, I asked for ballpark quotes to replace a capacitor. What I found was that every other company I spoke with (4), would charge for the capacitor ($30-$50) but to install was part of the service call fee since it is a simple fix. So, my total would range from $100-$150. Paschal, however, has a flat rate billing system so the service call is separate. My total was $257. I know pricing is different for every company but $100 more than others is a bit extreme. The only redeeming factor was that the man did offer to top off my freon which was slightly low. So, if I factor that in, the cost difference was probably a wash. But, since that wasn't the problem, I really would have rather saved my $100 for now and paid that later if it became one. In the end, I couldn't do anything but let them fix it because if I sent him off with the $79 service fee without the work and then paid someone else, it would have cost me more. In speaking with the manager over the phone, he explained that anyone can quote a low price over the phone. Although that is true, I will in the future look to someone else who did give a lower quote and wait for them to be wrong!
