+ -1 moreThe repairman put the fridge back together very sloppily and I had to redo it before I could put the meat tray back in. This was in May of 2015. We lived with thawing the fridge twice a year, and wiping up the water on the bottom once a month. In August of 2017, we took the fridge apart again - more completely than either repairman had done and discovered that the drain tube was frozen - thus no water could drain out. My husband looked on You-tube to see how others had fixed the problem. Turns out Samsung had an improved replacement part (for $7 or $8) to keep the tube from freezing. Easy to install it, and it fixed the problem. Made us wonder why neither "repairman" took the fridge apart enough to actually find the problem! That's why we decided to put this review on Angie's list.
Description of Work: Water was collecting under the meat tray at the bottom of the fridge instead of draining out like it is supposed to do. Also, fridge was freezing up around the cooling coils and had to be thawed every 6 - 8 months with a hair dryer. In 2014, a repairman from another company tried to fix the problem unsuccessfully. This time, in 2015, we called A-1 Appliance. Their "repairman" said the water was from the reservoir of the ice maker and it would be too expensive to replace it. He said we should buy a new fridge! This is a $2,000 fridge that was 5 years old. I told him we were NOT replacing it. His response was to phone a "friend" who sells appliances (and whose number he had memorized!) and assured us he had a fridge for us to buy. He made a point of saying that HE didn't sell fridges as that would be a conflict of interest.

+ -1 moreHe was very nice and prompt in getting here. He brought the parts he thought he might need to save me a second service call, but didn't need them. He told me what I need to do to make it run better.
Description of Work: He was the only repairman I could find who was willing to travel the distance to my home and the only one who was willing to work on my freezer on a Saturday. Without him, I would have lost all my food. I had a stuck relay switch, so all I had to pay for was the service call.

Description of Work: They came quickly. Charged $80 for first appliance and $40 for 2nd appliance, just for looking at them. Heard the guy on the phone with the repair people - he charged double the price for the part. After he came and changed the part for the water/ice filter, the refrigerator started freezing everything. Had to replace the refrigerator a week later.

+ -1 moreNice guy. I found out my lowes frig is actually a Chinese knockoff. Lowes says the small compact frig is disposable and no parts are available. Did search online and it confirmed the same thing. He was able to identify the actual manufacturers and order the correct part. He had to come out twice since. He had to order the part. Only took 1 day to get.
