Jacob did such a wonderful job of refinishing the floors in my 100-year-old house, especially considering that I was living there at the time...with 3 pets! He was prompt, professional, and so friendly. We had to go through a really laborious (for him) process. He moved all the furniture from one side of the house to the other (at no additional charge) and refinished one side and moved all the furniture back into place. A few days later, he moved all the furniture to the opposite side of the house and refinished the other side and moved all the furniture back into place. It was a huge endeavor and he was calm and pleasant through it all These old floors were pretty battered. There are a few stains that were too deep to be removed, but in general, the floors are beautiful! This has made my home look so much brighter and warmer.

Great! Jake is a very knowledgeable, conscientious and professional person. He does what he says he will do and is adamant about his customers reporting to him anything the customer finds that may need attending to that deals with his work product. I would highly recommend that anyone considering having their hardwood floors refinished to at the the least give him a call so that he can view the job and give a quote.

Jake, the owner, is a nice guy who is working very hard to support his family. That makes writing this review difficult for me. The quality of the work was acceptable, but not perfect. They installed customer supplied vinyl plank flooring at a cost of $1.25/sq ft. The floor was not perfectly prepared, so there when you walk on it in your bare feet you can feel a few bumps in places where there is likely a small mound of adhesive or perhaps a nail sticking up a bit on the subfloor. It looks good though, so it is acceptable... I was just not 100% satisfied with it. The shoe moulding is about the same... acceptable, but not great. It will look better after I fill in all the nail holes and gaps in the corners with caulk. The worksite was not left clean. One small area in my daughter's playroom had nails and staples sticking up. When I saw it I was horrified to think of the damage that could have caused to her feet. This was the fault of an employee who no longer works for Jake, but employers are always responsible for their employees. Scheduling was also an issue. Jake had at least 3 life events and an unreliable employee which caused the project to be finished on my moving day. That was a bit crazy. I know things come up in life that we can't help, but I felt like Jake was stretched so thin that everything was crazy and rushed. He told me he would work on Saturday to make up for lost time, but when Saturday rolled around he said he was not going to be able to do any work on that day. My experience did not go smoothly and was very stressful, but this company might be ok when Jake gets himself a bit more organized and less over booked.

Better than I could have emagined

Jake did an exceptional job with our original hardwood floors from the 1960's. He is very honest and tells you exactly what he will do and the limitations so there are no false hopes. We had 100's of nail holes in one room he was able to fill that are now only barely noticeable and a bad pet stain in another room that was cut out and replaced. From all the calling around I did, Jake's pricing was right in line with the per sq foot pricing that seemed standard for our area. I don't know why anyone would choose another company when you can get premium results for the same pricing. Our floors look great.

Jake showed up on time to provide a quote and was very patient and responsive to questions. He took time to describe the process and told us what to expect. The job was scheduled and he showed up on time and finished in the time frame he told us. Jake stained 3 small areas with the colors we narrowed it down to and we selected a color. Jake was also very responsive to questions throughout the process as I was interested in the process and had questions about the procedure, durability and future maintenance. Jake did some extra things including purchasing a transition piece for the tile to wood areas and staining it, staining oak boards I needed to place under the front of the washing machine and leaving me some extra stain for repairs and future use. Jake also contacted us about a week after the job was done to make sure we were happy with the work and that everything was ok. The floors look amazing and everyone comments on how great they look.

Jake did a wonderful job. He had to match quater rounds that we did not replace and also other existing hardwood floors and did a great job. He was very informative and answered any questions I had regarding the process. I would highly recommend him

On time and finished promptly

We had a great experience with Jacob Stewart. He was quick to respond to my initial call for an estimate. His estimate was great. He answered a ton of my questions and helped me with the ordering of the Bamboo I had selected. I went with an online Bamboo company that he had never installed before but was more than willing to install it. (Some contracters will not install products they aren't experienced with.) Jacob was always on time, called beforehand, and he worked quickly and cleanly. The outcome was beautiful and we couldn't be happier with the results. Very trustworthy and willing to work with you. I sort of hovered over the project and when I asked about this or that he was always patient with me and changed things I asked him to change. Overall a wonderful experience and we're so happy with the end result.

Everything went great. In fact, the business even worked around my rescheduling when a dependent project to this one was delayed. It was just finished and on-time and at the price listed. The floor looks great, but would recommend on the third day to not leave any pets in the house if possible if the room is not sealed enough as the third day treatment was really strong and permeated all over the house. On the third day, try to stay out of the house if the odor gets too strong to let it dry first. It took 24-36 hours to air out after the third treatment dried.

Jacob did a great job installing our new hardwood floors in our master bedroom. He came to our house ahead of time and gave a good estimate and advice on what we needed. He performed the installation in less then a day. He kept in touch throughout the process and performed good quality work.

It went well. Due to my hectic schedule I could never actually meet Jake in person (I had a relative meet him) but we were able to discuss all aspects of the job via telephone prior to the job starting. He was an excellent communicator; and if I did not anticipate a question, he would ask it to make sure he had all the information he needed before starting the job. At the end of the job, the quality of his work was inspected closely and it was deemed to be excellent. It's always a bit stressful trying out new providers, but my experience with Jake was satisfactory. I plan on using him again in the future.

We had bought a house with hardwood floors that were stained very dark. The finish was kind of swirly, so we tried to lightly sand and refinish ourselves, in the hopes that we could straighten things out. After we sanded a little in one room, it was clear that the dark stain was to hide the extremely poor job that had previously been done - lots of sander marks. Jake was TERRIFIC! He came out promptly to give us an estimate, gave me the Angie's discount, even though it was supposed to have been expired, started the work right when he said he would and finished up on time. He kept checking to see if we had any questions or concerns throughout the job. Jake sanded everything down and refinished our floors without staining them - they are BEAUTIFUL!!! He did an excellent job with our very ugly floors at an amazingly good price. I will be recommending him to everyone.

Jake did a wonderful job. He was professional, answered all our questions, worked with us on the t-molding pieces and trim. When he undercut the brick fireplace, he worked very hard to keep the dust and debris to a minimum. We really appreciated that. Since we were away at the time of installation, he sent us pictures to keep us updated on the progress. The floor looks beautiful. We are very pleased and would highly recommend Stewart Family Floors.

Jake was very professional and prompt. I had had problems with other companies even getting a quote. He came to the house to give me a quote 24 hrs after I contacted him. The entire experience was great. His pricing was very competitive and the quality of work was incredible. I admire the floors he did every time I walk on them!!!

Jake Stewart (owner) does good quality work for a competitive price. Equally important I found him to be responsive, honest, flexible (I had to reschedule twice) and of high integrity (his bill matched his quote down to the dollar). True story - halfway through the job my a/c went out (keep in mind this would be naples FL in July) and the condo temps reached 85+ degrees. Jake could have easily bailed for a day or two, but he continued to work hard and late into the night to finish the job on time. Bottom line - if you're looking for a dependable guy at a fair price with great follow through, hire Jake. You will appreciate his personality and work ethic as much as you will appreciate the quality of his work.

In a nutshell, it went very well. Punctual, professional, friendly, answered all my questions, was realistic about scheduling, and provided a written estimate and everything I needed to know if I were to move forward with him. I plan to move forward with the laminate installation once I have the funds :) UPDATE - I previously marked a B for price. This was an error on my part. It should have been an A.

We contacted Jake due to the excellent reputation expressed on Angie's List. Jake came over and gave us an estimate and we were very impressed with his professional approach and his love for working with wood flooring. We found his estimate to be very reasonable and as a result added additional flooring to our second story. We initially intended to do a studio, hallway and bedroom plus a 22 step stairway. We were replacing six-year old carpet and wanted a wood floor material that would withstand the heat and humidity of Florida. We purchased our wood flooring from Cosco as they have great pricing and hired Stewart Family Floors to do the installation. Jake is very professional and trustworthy enough that we gave him the key to our home while we were away and we were not disappointed as we returned to see incredibly gorgeous floors done in a very professional manner. Jake delivered everything that he promised and we would definitely recommend him to family and friends and use him again. In fact we have already recommended him to several people.

I was desperate! Another provider was hired to polyurethane my wood floors which had gotten dull. Unfortunately he did not know what he was doing. My floors were peeling, cracking and scratching within three days of application. I spoke to a number of people and they all suggested that I had to tear up the exiting floor, which was glued to the concrete. using a jackhammer and than lay another floor. A $10,000 price tag! A friend suggested I try Angies List, and thus I found Jacob. He knew what the problem was, knew how to solve it, and did!!! Came on time, utterly professional, super work, greatprice. I am so thankful. My floors look great, he was meticulous and explained step by step the process.My neighborss are so impressed that they asked for his number! Thank you Jacob!

Jacob of Stewart Family floors was completely responsive to email and phone calls with questions and he made some excellent recommendations, He instilled enough confidence that we mailed him the key to the house so he could take delivery and let the floors acclimate as recommended. My husband flew down to oversee the installation, but even that wasn't completely necessary because of Jacob's expertise. When buying a home in a new town, it's difficult to find professionals to trust, I thank other Angie's List members for their reviews that led me to Jacob. I would strongly recommend him to anyone considering having their flooring replaced.

I found Stewart Floors on Angie's list. The owner came out and gave me a quote. We discussed some dates and I had to change it later in the week. He was very agreeable to changing the date. Job was completed in 4 days as planned. geat job!

I had the carpet on my inside fight of stairs for my coach home replaced four years ago with laminated wood. I hired a friend's husband, (who had lost his job during the horrendous real estate down turn) to do the job of replacing all of my carpeting to help them financially and because he said he knew how to install wood flooring. BIG MISTAKE. Now I am trying to sell my place and the stairs have become a safety hazard. Jake came over and had to totally redo the stairs. After this much elapsed time, the flooring was hard to match but he did a great job and salvaged as much as he could of the original flooring pieces. It took him six hours to complete but he did a thorough and fantastic job and cleaned up and hauled everything off for me. I highly recommend this young man and certainly would use him again if needed..
