+ -1 moreThey are not honest do not go to carrs . if you do, expect them to mission creep at wiping out your wallet.I had a belt fall off once with a branch popping it off I was told it was tore I looked and there was no tear That belt was a week old and was nothing wrong with it!. I had tires put on they said yet I got a flat a week later and all I did was put slime in and flats. they are not ethical what so ever,that they said was needed .I never asked for!. I have used them fixing my mountain bike in the past and their mission creeping my wallet at there the shop one time too many two years ago sop I stoped using them on my bike. but I had a warranty on my new grass hoper mower. they never once covered over $1000 worth of work in 2 years I would never ever do business with them again. They will rip you off I will find a shop that is honest this one is not even close!

lawn mower repair
+ -1 moreI have since bought a new Bad Boy mower from a different dealer and am very satisfied with the product as well as the service I received during the buying process. However, I still have the Grasshopper mower that I, in good faith, paid $2750 for that needs major and expensive repairs.
Description of Work: Carr's Chain Reaction, Inc. (formerly known as Carr's Chain Reaction Bicycle?) sold me a used Grasshopper mower, claiming they had rebuilt the engine and were in the process of replacing the starter. It remained in their possession for three weeks after the cash purchase. It appears there was a new starter put on the mower but the ignition knob that most likely caused the starter to go out was not replaced. Upon using the mower at the start of the mowing season it was POURING out oil from the main seal. I replaced the seal, which stopped the oil leak, but the smoking and heavy oil consumption continues. When Carr's was contacted about the problem, they said, "Oh, we only rebuilt the top half of the engine" and offered to "only" charge me for parts and "partial" labor if I would bring it back for repairs. I was clearly mislead to believe the engine had been properly rebuilt and starter had been replaced without any further repairs needed at that time in order to gain my business. The receipt displays "engine rebuilt at 1125 hrs" and a signature. It is my opinion that they were dishonest and do not recommend buying their products or using their services.
