Description of Work: Just in case my other review came down b/c so much time went by Kitchen Tune Up is not a company I would recommend - it is a franchise - it was owned and operated by Aaron Tygart who does not have a license in the state of Arkansas of today - my local franchise is not operating any more - the corporate office out of South Dakota was useless in trying to resolve all my issues - the coporate office has told some customers in the area that Aaron's father has taken over the business - be ware of anything Kitchen Tune Up related My story - no permits were pulled - no inspections by the city were done - Aaron changed scope of job based on pre-inspection of job not accurate - forced me to get an attorney

+ -1 moreIt went terrible. When we would complain the contractor(Aaron) would just stand there and stare into the air and not answer us. He kept telling us he would sand,stain and clear coat our cabinets and make them look new. In the end all he did was to bring in a can of gel stain and put on them. He did not smooth or sand or even wipe the dirt and grease off that had collected over the years. He put new paneling around the cabinets and behind the stove and microwave and when he got through the cabinet was so rough that my dish cloth got stuck in it when I tried to wipe a spot on it. He said the cabinets would be walnut and when we checked the can of stain it was hickory color. My cabinets looked like an old barn. They had holes in them,nails sticking out,end of cabinet was left without covering it the crown molding had a splice in it in the front of the cabinet and I told them to fill that splice and restain it they did but you could see the guys finger prints in it. THere was another splice by the front door also. There was a nail sticking out of the crown molding. They had stained the hinges on the cabinet. When they put the new spindles on the top cabinet they had them one inch higher on one end. They never sanded at all and when we asked, Aaron said they would be sanded and stained. When finished our cabinets had streaks all in them. They had brush hairs from the paint brush and the doors did not have any stain on the bottom of them. No holes where filled or rough spots gotten out. Do not use this company. As far as I am concerned we have been cheated and this is fraud because he kept telling us he would sand and stain and clear coat. When I called the parent company I spoke to the SVP and he told me they do not ever sand... Also I have learned this guys father has taken over the franchise so Stay away from them because you know the same guy is going to be operating under his dad's name and he is a crook. We went to small claims court and was awarded a judgement against him.
Description of Work: Hired to refinish cabinets. His work was terrible. He assured us he would sand, stain and clear coat the cabinets. All he did was bring a can of gel stain in and painted the cabinets with them. He didn't smooth out rough spots on cabinets or fill holes. Put on crown molding and left nails sticking out of it and left a place right in front where he had spliced it and just painted gel stain over it. This was in the front of the cabinets and another place by the front door. I have learned he is not a licensed contractor.

Description of Work: I installed granite for Mr,Aaron Tygart (franchisee Kitchen Tune up).for one of his customers on Oct.24 ,2012.Mr Tygart had called me and was in a pinch i turned this job around for him in less than 1 week. Mr.Tygart had promised to pay me within 14 day's.it has been 55 days as of today and i have still not received payment. I have met with his homeowners on 12-4-2012 to inform the homeowners i had not been paid,at that time the home owners informed me that they were extremely happy with the work i had performed,and that they had paid Mr.Tygart in full the day after i performed the work.So in essence Mr,Tygart spent my money''' I am a fully licensed and insured contractor,as well as a member of the The National Association of Home Builders.
