Dale was great to work with. He is a good mason and his work was very professionally finished. He worked hard to help minimize the dust created from the masonry sawing required for this job. While there he also volunteered to take a look at my fireplace chimney to advise me on any necessary work that might be required. I completed some additional caulking he advised. Will use Dale again for any future masonry work needed.
Description of Work: Removed grate above fireplace mantel and in-filled with brick. Cut out two areas below mantel for new air supply grates to be installed.

The job was done quickly, done well and I'd hire Kester Masonry again. In fact, Dale showed me an area of my retaining wall that was losing grout and made recommendations for repair. I'll be hiring him again to assist with that in the Spring.
Description of Work: Dale Kester made great suggestions & was quick to respond when I needed help with my landscaping rock. I have a large area that was originally meant for landscaping vegetation, however, the plants keep dying in that area. I decided to switch the area out for river rock. I cleaned out the vegetation myself, but Dale recommended the size & type of rock I should use. He delivered the rock, and he & has crew had it spread out & looking great within less than an hour.

My wife had called several businesses trying to find someone to do the work, before someone recommended Kester Masonry. Dale came out the next day, and I got off work early to meet him. I expected him to survey the situation and come back when he could fit us into his schedule. Instead, Dale went out to his truck to retrieve his tools, then got right to work. It turned out to be a two-man job, because it involved quite a bit of hammer and chisel work; I worked for short periods when he needed a break. Dale got all of the brickwork out of the wall in a much shorter period than I had imagined, and helped me remove the debris. When he was done, he refused payment! Instead, he asked me to donate the money I would have paid him to a charity. I will definitely use his company when I start my projects in the back yard next year.
Description of Work: Dale removed brick from a wall so I could install a double oven in our kitchen. The wall between our kitchen and living room is a massive brick rectangle, housing the fireplace on one side and the oven on the other. After removing the single oven, I needed to expand the opening for a double unit. Using a sledge hammer and a chisel in tight quarters, he chiseled out the mortar between the bricks and removed them one at a time. He then helped me clean up and remove the debris.
