My overall experience with them was not very good. I had a major issue with my heating and air conditioning system, so they came and looked at it. The good thing was they came pretty quickly, but when they got here they looked at it and they said "well, yes there is a problem with it, when it was installed it was not installed correctly for your zone heating situation, because it needed to have a bypass for this to have the system work correctly and it never was one. So, it would need to be repaired." They gave me the cost of the repair to the major heat pump unit and said that they could not install a bypass to the system and do that. So, I said okay and they left. Since it was a couple of thousand dollars to do that I got a second opinion. I called another company and had another technician come out and look at it. He looked at it and he said basically the same thing that it had failed because of not having the bypass but he also advised me that he wanted to look at the compression unit and the outside unit also because he said typically in situations like this it could be a damage to that. So, he lifted that and even though the system was not that old, it had only been replaced for about 6 years, he said that that had only 40% life left in it, in the outside compression. He said that I can have the other one repaired, but then that one might go out and there is no telling how long it might last. That was a pretty important information to know. So I went with the other company and bought a whole new system, because why pay $2000 and then have the other go out and pay another couple of thousands and still have just an old unit. Besides that, then I got a bill from 1st Choice Home Comfort and I was certainly prepared to pay for their coming out and looking at the unit, but then they billed me for some other stuff. It should have been only like a $75 bill, but they were trying to bill me for a couple of hundreds; adding some other things. So, they wanted to charge me for stuff that they did not do. I kept e-mailing them back to say that this is not right and it took a long time of calling them back when they kept saying pay your bill and I kept e-mailing them back and saying the same thing. Finally, I had to call them and got someone, explained the situation and then they said that let us go check with these people. So, they did that and they finally were back rectifying the bill and I paid it, but it was a real hassle. So, it was not a good experience for me. Regarding charging me, I think what had happened was they must have gotten it confused for someone else. They did seem kind of rushed. They were kind of rushing around. There was one fellow, who was I think one of the owners who knew what he was doing and he kind of had a trainee with him. They really did not do a lot of damage, but they did just give me the whole picture. Their actual price was okay. They were very responsive. When they came the first time, at first I was going to have them come back and fix it but then they kept saying they could come at a certain time and then they called me and said that no we cannot come now. I think that was not good. So, I would give them a "D" for punctuality and that is just because of the follow up after the initial call was not good. Their professionalism was not very good.

It went great. He was unable to CLEAN the condensor that day, but they did what they could to semi clean it and get it to where my house would at least cool down enough for us to be comfortable. Even offered window units to us for the weekend (it was friday and he was coming back Monday morning) They were back as soon as possible that Monday did the work in less time than expected. Very friendly family run business.
