Bathroom and kitchen resurfacing experts since 2004. Our 1 Day Remodel process can transform your old worn out tub or other surface to a new, modern look!
They scheduled for a 4 hour refinish and finished in 2 and a half hours. This is basically a paint job with epoxy paint. My tub/shower was almond color and the clear coat had deteriorated over 30 yrs. It left a yellowed, inconsistent color that looked dirty. The refinish was white, but it did not cover the old finish and you can see it through the white finish. Also, the tub has a gritty feel on bottom that is not comfortable to stand on. I stated this to them at the time of service and they said "we put two coats on and that's all we do". Both the guy that did the work and his boss, tried to tell me this was a reflection, but clearly it isn't. They don't care if you are dissatisfied. I would not this again and I cancelled doing the other bath.

*3/17/16 Contacted Surface Renew to discuss our fiberglass tub enclosure in one of our rental properties. To be clear, all aspects of the repair were discussed, with my first concern being color matching and my second concern was structure support for the tub floor. I was assured that expanding foam would be injected under the tub and if the repair could not be matched they would paint the entire enclosure which is rather easy, according to Ryan. The package was bought and we put him in touch with the current renter and property management team to get the work done. 7/09/16 we drove into L.R., as the current renters lease was over, unfortunately, this was the first time seeing Surface Renews repair and, to put it mildly, it looked like a kid was let loose in the bathtub with a can of play-dough. I stepped into the tub to check the structure and the bottom of the tub still flexed, solidifying my hunch that the foam injected under the tub was not a high density foam. *7/10/16 I called Ryan at first light with my findings and he came over the same day to look at the work; we both agreed it was shoddy and not done properly. He scheduled the repair for Monday, July 18th and assured me it would be done correctly. *9/3/16 Drove back to L.R. and, after seeing the handfuls of sanding dust turned to muck left in my toilet, hand prints all over the walls, white dusty footprints left throughout the front of my house and the incomplete repair done to my bathtub I immediately called Ryan and was told to call him on Tuesday, he was on vacation and didn't have time to deal with this!! Really? In most industries, when you have an upset customer, the last thing they want to hear is "call me back on Tuesday." I immediately followed up the phone call with a picture of the bathtub via text message hoping Ryan wouldn’t forget the mess that Surface Renew created at my home. I want to believe that Surface Renew does a good job but, only under the watchful eye of a homeowner... However, if left to their own devices, the poor character and poor customer service of the company comes shining through. If you can't be there for the repair, do yourself a favor and call someone else.
Description of Work: In a Little Rock rental property of ours a shower enclosure had a crack in the tub from a previous tenant. Upon firing up my Angie's List account I contacted Surface Renew and explained the problem at hand. I was assured that since the enclosure was one piece the texture and color would match even if they had to spray the complete unit.

We had the work done on several dates. One bathroom had a cultured marble vanity that was full of tiny black cracks, and the walk-in shower tile was permanently stained from 20+ years of use. We were looking for a less expensive way to update them without tearing them out and starting over. The work took about three to four hours, but the results were stunning. The finish is a little rough at first, but smooths out a little after cleaning it. The shower floor had a spot that started to peel after a few days, but they came out, stripped it and re-applied it and it has been perfect since then. The next bathroom had another cultured marble vanity and a porcelain glazed cast iron tub that had a fair amount of light scratches from many years of use. The smooth white finish looks like porcelain, and has been durable and scratch free after a couple of months of regular use. Both vanities are great too. We've dropped full cans of hair spray or shaving creme on the them without the slightest mark. The kitchen was a big project since it had a lot of formica to cover - including the backsplashes. Once again they finished in a few hours and the finish is hard and mostly solid. I say mostly because we discovered that there is a weakness for green jello. My son was making some and spilled a little on the countertop. He wiped it up within a couple of minutes, but it left a stain. We've had hot pans, cooking oil, vinegar, salad dressing and other stuff spilled on the counter with no issues, but green jello left a stain. It makes you wonder about eating it, but I digress. Once again Surface Renew was quick to prep and respray that section, and we've had no issues since. The application process is pretty intense. They did an excellent job taping off and protecting fixtures and everything else from overspray. They ventilate the area to the outside, but it still has a strong odor during application, and for several hours afterwards. We kept our pets away from the areas being sprayed for 24 hours just to be safe. The odor goes away quickly though, and they leave instructions for care that are simple to follow. Scrubbing Bubbles works wonders cleaning the new surfaces. I can't remark on long term use, but the last couple of months has been impressive.

Description of Work: We ended up paying Surface Renew to do repairs to a brand-new tub after it was damaged by another contractor (incidental to that work, before we had even used it.) (Our other contractor was going to pay for it, but passed away unexpectedly. We decided to cover the cost rather than pursue it with his estate.) Ryan with Surface Renew did a very nice job - including suggesting that they *not* do anything for some minor scratches, since the repair could end up just as noticeable depending on how well the color-matching came out. Which saved us money as well. And he gave us some cleaning solution to use on the tub floor to get the non-slip strips back to looking new again.

The service man arrived on time and refinished the tub in a timely manner. The coating was apparently an oil based paint. The service man installed ventilation for the room while he was applying the paint, however he removed the ventilation soon after he applied the paint. It took awhile for the fumes to dissipate. Before he left he told me not to use or touch the tub for 10 or 12 hours. The masking tape was removed after about 12 hours. In doing so a place on the bottom of the tub was touched which was soft leaving an ugly impression. Apparently the paint was too thick to dry properly. The next morning I called the service man and he immediately returned and repaired the spot. The tub looks good but the finish is not as durable as I would like.

They came to my house to look at the bathtub. Instead of trying to sell me a complete resurfacing, they suggested that I only have them give it a deep cleaning, since the tub wasn't in very bad shape - just a few stains and worn spots. Their workers were very professional and answered all my questions. I was extremely happy with the care they took to protect the rest of my bathroom. I highly recommend Surface Renew without reservation.

ryan, the owner, arrived on time and stripped the bathtub of a re-surface that had been done before we bought our home. the previous re-surface was peeling off all over and looked terrible. he said it was probably a DIY project since you could scrape it off with a fingernail. ryan stripped the old surface off and then removed a dark brown stain on the bottom of the tub. he got the tub so clean that he recommeded NOT re-surfacing it! he said that 60% of the old tubs he strips get that clean. i am so happy with his service and would hire him again. i highly recommended surface re-new.

We had my bathtub and tile surround refinished. The tile was formerly pink and brown (1960s addition), and the tub had become worn in places. Surface Renew came out and sanded and sprayed the new glaze. The smell was awful (I sent my puppy to my parents for the night), and I couldn't use my shower for 24 hours while it cured. There were some rough spots when the glaze was finished, so I called them and they came back out to fix them. Overall, I was pleased with the result, though the employee who came out did not remove one of the spigot covers before he sprayed. Instead, he just taped over it. While there is no glaze on the cover, the cover sometimes shifts, meaning you can still see the original pink behind the cover. This bothers me almost everyday. I don't know if it was just an oversight, as the other spigot cover and the faucet were removed, or if for some reason, he couldn't get it off. Either way, I wish he had pointed it out to me rather than remaining silent, which makes me feel like he knew about it and just hoped I wouldn't notice.

.The man from Surface Re-new arrived promptly and set to work. The bathroom is off a hallway and he throughly described what he was going to do and answered a number of questions. He brought in his supplies and equipment, covered the surrounding area and the sink fixtures, prepped the sink, and resurfaced it. He covered the door with plastic and used a kind of vacuum for the fumes, running a hose to a window. After he finished and removed his equipment and materials, except for the masked area around the sink, he explained that we needed to wait at least ten hours for the sink to dry before removing the paper and tape. He explained we needed to be careful removing the tape over the fixtures. We waited 24 hours to be sure, but the covering came off pretty easily and the sink is blindingly white--looks like new. We figured we saved a bundle. We're thrilled to know they have opened an office in another town where we own an older house. We'll definitely call on their services again.
Description of Work: The serviceman resurfaced a bathroom sink that had a hole and crack for years. I had sealed the crack and hole with silicone, but it was an ugly situation. We were considering buying a new sink and a vanity but that would have required extensive retiling. A plumber suggested that we get the sink refinished. I found Surface Re-new on Angie's list and decided to give them a try.

Dropped by their office/showroom to look at large samples. Selected a color and completion date. Quoted price was about as expected. Ryan Schatz is the proprietor and he promised to come himself to do the work. He showed up on time as promised after calling to confirm. He remembered small details we discussed a couple of weeks before. Very qualified and experienced. Everything was masked off and completed in a timely manner. The job is nice and exactly as promised. I would recommend Surface Renew, Inc. without hesitation. We have 2 more cultured marble vanity tops that will be refinished in the future and we will definitely call Ryan to do the work. Note: The actual street address is 17815 MacArthur Dr, North Little Rock, not the Maumelle address shown.
Description of Work: The job was to refinish a vanity top (5 feet) with back and side splashes, tub surround walls and shelf. A custom color was selected which required a different base-coat.

No matter how much we scrubbed our porcelain tile shower, the white tiles always looked discolored and the grout lines would show signs of mold/mildew. Surface Renew uses a product called Multispec that is a coating that they spray over existing tile and grout to not only give it a new look but also seal the grout lines. Multispec has a stone-like finish, so it is really pretty. We used the light brown finish, so no more white tile! It is supposed to be highly mold and mildew resistant, but not enough time has passed yet to tell if it can withstand the test of time. It is supposed to last years. Bob Kennedy came over to do our shower and he was very nice and professional. There were some spots that I could tell were not sprayed as heavily as others, and he gladly came back to touch up a few days later. I once was ashamed of our shower, and now I'm proud of it. There are a lot of fumes associated with spraying the Multispec coating, so be prepared for that. Open lots of windows. It takes about 24-48 hours to dry fully, which is a rather short period in my opinion, so you don't have to wait forever to use the shower again. We are going to have Surface Renew come out to spray the Multispec coating on our tub surround as well so the shower and tub match. We will also be using them to refinish our kitchen countertops and give them a granite-like look. If you are thinking of remodeling, I would recommend considering resurfacing. You can get things to look like new again or even better than before, and you save a lot of money not tearing things out and replacing them.

Tom is a VERY busy man. I first spoke to him at the Little Rock Home Show at Alltel Arena, and he had glazing material on his hands, and clothing from doing a glazing job that very morning before the show! He was courteous and professional, and gave what I considered to be a fair estimate of the cost for doing what I needed done, so I decided to use him a few days later. I should have signed up at the show, as it took a few days after my call to get an answer. However, when I did, he scheduled the job in a professional manner and arrived on time and did a professional, extremely satisfying job. I would recommend him to others for the same type of work, gladly.

Well, that tub is just as old as old can be. Surface Renew did a very good job of eliminating the areas that were bubbling up on the tub. We figured that it would be far cheaper for us to repair the tub than to have to purchase a whole new entire tub and have to deal with all of the plumbing and installation that would go along with getting a new tub. That is why we thought we would give Surface Renew a call in the first place. Their company logo on their business card says that its better to fix than put in new. It sounded like it was worth a shot, and we just can't throw money away because there are too many things that can go wrong on an older home. Overall, we were happy with the job that this company did. I'd say the tub looks about as good as its going to get! Now, we will probably have them come back and do work on the other bathroom as well.
Description of Work: Our home is thirty five years old and so is the tub in the one bathroom. As a result of its age, it began bubbling up and just looking really terrible. I think the end result was that the tub had to be what is called resurfaced. Now in our situation, areas around the tub did not have to be worked on; just the tub itself had to have one of those acrylic gel coat jobs done to it. For that work on just that bathtub area, I think we paid about seven to eight hundred dollars.
