We are extremely pleased with the job done by the four gentlemen with Fixed Rate Moving, Inc. who moved us from a 2500 sq ft home in Conway to a similar size home in Greenbrier. They were courteous, professional, efficient, careful, and did an overall fantastic job. They were very careful with our furniture, boxes, and appliances. Nothing was damaged, including a large 300 lb glass fish tank. They brought extra supplies and tools necessary to detach the washer and dryer and shrink wrap drawers/doors. They also took apart and reassembled our king bed frame! Even though it was over 90 degrees outside (heat index of 110!), they only took a few breaks. We encouraged them to take more! They also finished the whole project in record time - less than 5 hours! We couldn't be happier with their service. We would absolutely use them again and would recommend them to others!

The ONLY thing that happened that was bad was they called the night before and said they could not be there at 8 as originally scheduled and that scared me..LOL BUT they were there by the new time and those guys worked their butts off until we were moved into our new home. The new home had stairs and God love them, they lugged 3 mattress sets up stairs and put the beds together for us. They were phenominal! AND they were SO NICE!!! One of the guys had his phone set to update on the Arkansas/Auburn game and did not actually drop anything when we explained that we were Auburn fans! AND he showed me how to download the APP to my phone! They made our move easy. Now, do y'all provide UN-packing services?? LOLOL Thanks so much! OH on a side note, y'all moved a cycling friend of mine to her new home that day, too... Not the same guys..they were completely ruined by the time they were done at our house..Poor guys..

I am an interior decorator out of Bryant Ar. ,with many years experience. I have used many moving companies in the past, but two years ago was introduced to Fixed Rate Moving and Jeff. I have since used him for 8 different jobs that required a moving company and been very pleased with each job that Fixed rate moving has done for me. Even though jeff has hundreds of moves monthly he always takes a personal interest in my business. Many of the pieces of furniture that they move for me are very expensive but I am very comfortable with fixed rate moving and would just like to say thanks jeff

It didn't go well. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Our instructions for packing were ignored. Many items damaged, some badly. 6ft long 1860's roll top desk turned on side rather than packed flat as instructed. It comes apart into 3 pieces; all were scratched and gouged. Washer dented badly near the on button and it doesn't function now. I have to unplug and replug it to turn it on..Washer hose threaded end bent so we had to replace it. Neither washer nor dryer hooked up. Antique sewing machine cabinet scratched, two antique dressers scratched and one gouged. Refrigerator dented and scratched down to the metal. They refused to take our generator as promised, didn't tell us we needed to empty it of gas, yet we were charged the same as if they had moved it. 3 gouges in one bookcase, scratches on 2 antique ones, small piece of veneer missing on one. Scrapes on butcher block. Scrapes on chifferobe. Dented 5 drawer file cabinet so badly that we cannot open 3rd drawer. Scratches on cedar chest. Scrapes on Eathan Allen dining table and chair legs/ Scuffs on 2 Jenny Lind antique beds. Large dent in leather on back of easy chair, leaving 5" long white mark. Scrape on edge of washer down to metal. Movers admitted they lost the clamp that holds our queen sized bed together under box springs; they didn't try to replace it but wired it together with a coat hanger, replaced box springs and mattress. We assumed they had found the clamp but when we went to bed, it fell apart. Obviously items were not padded. Truck was jammed to the top and to the back end. We called and Jeff Byers, the owner agreed to refund $100 for desk and sewing machine. When we discovered all the rest of damage, he came to house, refused to take responsibility for anything else, yelled at my husband and threatened to take us to court for slander.

In regards to [members name removed] claims on the services performed, we will not take any further responsibility for their claims. We feel that we have refunded more than sufficiently needed for what little damage we may have actually done. In 9 years of this business, I have not come across a couple seemingly so far from reality, having no inclination for the truth that they completely disregard the implications of their actions and words via negative reviews. Their claims lack merit and are genuinely false. My name is Jeff Byers, yes I did threaten defamation because I didn’t know ultimately what choices I had. (As I was leaving from looking over everything they wanted me to pay for, the husband stated and I quote “if you’re not going to pay for my washer, than as far as I am concerned your company sucks and I am going to tell everyone I can and spread the word.” I didn’t know what else to say and yes it upset me when someone deliberately uses negative reviews to try and gain on their behalf. From the beginning: We moved the [members name removed] and everything seemed to go well. At the end of the move we were figuring the bill and [members name removed] said that we scratched the side a roll top desk. I said ok, we are very sorry there are two options we have: a.a monetary payment or b. we can take it to our professional woodworker. I was not on location but dealing via phone pictures and conversation. They opted for the upfront payment or money off the total bill. While on the phone with [members name removed] he asked if he could pay at a later date to make sure there were no damage, to which I said no, we have to have payment upfront then you may make a claim if needed. She he put me on hold and went through the house with his wife checking furniture, (a lot like they were hoping to find something) came back to the phone and we were done. Or so I thought. 10 minutes later my guys called my GM and said they wanted $50 off for a run on and old sewing machine. Chris allowed this to just not mess with it. Almost 2 weeks go by and I get a phone call from [members name removed]. He states that he just wanted to let me know how the move went. He say’s for the most part the move went well. He then talked about his dryer being messed up, says he just had a repair man out and the total bill was over $300 to fix it. Goes on to tell me that he thinks I should be responsible for half the bill (RED FLAG) – (I don’t know about everyone but I am fairly certain that if I had someone move an appliance and they broke it, I would expect them to be responsible for the whole hill). Also when someone calls a repair man nearly two weeks later without first consulting us is a red flag. He asked if I would come out and take a look and I said yes. I arrived at the [members name removed] house thinking someone was playing a trick on me. When I walked into the home, I could see what must have been 200+ yellow sticky notes strategically placed on nearly every piece of furniture in their entire house. So we walked through the bedroom bypassing all these little sticky notes with writing and began to discuss the bed situation. As [members name removed] explains the story of his bed, the ending changed 3 times. During the move we knew and he knew that we had misplaced a $1.00 clamp for the metal rails. We offered to immediately have one picked up and he said he would take care of it. One of my guys thought he could temporarily wire the simple metal frame so they would be able to seep 1 or two nights until replace. After trying, my guy and [members name removed] both new it wasn’t going to work and the conclusion was to leave the bed upright against the wall and he would take care of the piece later. My guys left the bed up with the [members name removed] knowing everything about it. I knew this the day it happened as well as one of the 3 story ending he gave me in the bedroom confirmed it. Regardless of this I spent a good 15minutes in the bedroom listening to [members name removed] complain about it. I expressed that I was sorry and reiterated the fact that we offered to get it fixed that day, but couldn’t understand why he kept going on and on about something that seemed minor now. Now, looking at the dryer, yes there was a dent where the start button is. Did we do it?, my findings pointed to no. The wording on the start button right in the center of the dent was nearly completely rubbed off like it has been this way for some time. The machine had normal markings, wear and tear all over it as well as the washer. We were not called and notified until after he found out how much he had to pay and paid the repairman. About 2 weeks later. Normally we are first to call. On to all the other furniture. I am not an expert when it comes to furniture, but after 9 years of dealing with it everyday, I would say I know more than an average person. The sewing machine rub, mentioned earlier, had so many marks and old rubs on it that it was hard to seven find a spot that was unscathed. The small run they accused us of was 1 of about 20 on the same piece and matched others beautifully. Any expert or any person with common sense would say that there is now ay this 1 particular rub happened in the last 5, 10 maybe 30 years. As I was showing myself to the door I stopped next to a very small bookshelf that looked like it has been put in a garbage disposal while still keeping its shape. There were two yellow sticky notes that both had arrows pointing to a cream colored speck that was half the size of a pencil eraser. [members name removed] standing behind me, said you’ll did that but we aren’t talking about that. I said “seriously” , reached down and scratched the two specs off and showed him that they were in fact old paint splatters. My point is that the [members name removed] are accusing us of committing damages that never happened. It seems they are trying to extract as much money as they possibly can because of how easy it was to get money off at the beginning. They are unjust and unfair, and it is unfortunate they are leveraging review sites to try and get what they ultimately do not deserve! I have a Bill of Lading sign by [members name removed]. It has 4 of her signatures on this sheet. One is a special clause we wrote in because of how they were acting at the end of the move. It states “All other household goods are in good condition” and she signed next to it. I have attached a copy of this 3 part carbon copy form for you to review.

When I spoke to the owner/boss on the phone, I was scheduled for Thursday. They called and asked if I'd like to wait until Friday. (It could have been Friday to Sat. But the next day) I said I didn't need to wait. They said is be doing a huge favor if I waited because of rain predicted. I agreed to the next day to help out. I'm on disability after teaching 23 years,so I know how important scheduling is. This was not a problem for me. I'm flexible. I told them I was not taking everything. I told them what I was taking. They came on time. They could not back into my driveway Due to a big branch. I asked my neighbor who has a paved driveway inches from mine if we could use his. He said we could. The driver chose to park on the street, in front of my neighbors lot (bought from my mom) They chose to carry everything uphill to the street. I'd planned to give unwanted furniture to charity, but they could not come in my house. I also have a disability where I never know if I can walk or even sit up until I wake up. I had a fall on the ice and was stuck in bed for 3 weeks. I begged friends and family to help pack. Nada. My cousin called the LDS church where he had been a member and they came in like an army- had me packed in two days. Thank you LDS saints! At the first walk through, I was told it would just be $1000. Even cheaper! As they tired carrying things uphill for hours they tired. Driver got grumpy, snappy, even abusive. They tried to not move my refrigerator because there was no shut off vale. I turned off the water to the house. They had to move it. Not happy movers. I had to empty the fridge. Last time the movers moved it with contents inside. There was a beer and small champaign from New Years. I slept through it. I offered them the beer and champaign to drink after work. The non- driver asked to use my bathroom a d drank the beer.i found the still cold bottle in the trash. I also found boxes packed to move in the front bedroom, and one in front bath. He drank on the job, though I offered water, juice, and coffee. Besides the boxes hidden (2) my big screen TV was left. I called the driver was in Conway and was not going to turn around. He said he would call the boss. I was ok with that until I got a call where the "boss" SCREAMED at me saying they were losing money on this move already! He said he'd turn the truck around but would charge me a LOT! In the end I was begging him not to turn the truck around. I asked for a guy or two to just carry the TV to my SUV. NO!!' I actually asked him to take a deep breath. He was screaming at me! He said I was being irrational, that I was not ready for the move. The things I was moving were all boxed up. I'd emptied the drawers in my dresser- I was told that was not necessary. There were some things on the dresser I put on a box in minutes. That is where I wasn't ready. I thought while they moved my washer/dryer/fridge I'd put the stuff on the dresser in a box. Nope. They had me hopping. He needed a screwdriver, pliers, something constantly. I was in so much pain. I'm sure they were too. As they were leaving (I didn't do a walk through- (don't make this mistake) I signed the papers, tipped each mover $100! Boy, that was stupid. That was before finding drinking on the job, boxes hidden, TV left, and when I got to new home, a huge dent in my side by side fridge. I told the owner I would reflect my experience with them on here. He threatened me. Never stopped yelling at me, saying it was all my fault. I cost them money I was in tears. I did the best I could being disabled. My mom was at new house. I'd marked every box with an up arrow, and what room it went in. They were all put in the garage. Most upside down.some things chipped, dented, broken. Very unhappy. Especially the part about being yelled at like a little kid over a 3 1/2 hour drive. I had to gut a U-Haul and hire men to load it. They were so nice. Wish I'd used them in the first place. I know the owner is going to call me a crazy liar, but I found out too late that is how they are, until they have your things hostage. I was shocked- all reviews were so good. That's because they can have bad reviews removed for $450!

What should have been a 1 to 2 hour load turned into a nearly 6 hour load! We arrived at the loading location to find nothing packed and basically every piece of furniture in the home had unpacked miscellaneous piled on it. This was a fixed quote based on [member name removed] having all packed and ready when we arrived. It makes it extremely time consuming and difficult to move a dresser when we have to set 30 items in the floor. Multiple phone calls before the move date have her confirming she would not have a problem packing and had friends/church members to help her. We offered our packing services many times before move date; she said she would be ready. My guys continued to load and even did some packing for her. There were absolutely zero problems with the service. Almost 6 hours later my guys called saying they had left and were 45 minutes away going to the unload. She just called and wanted them to drive back and get a tv that she said we forgot. To understand the situation, this was an extremely crammed house with only about a third of the stuff actually going. There was stuff piled on stuff and it was hard to move around. My guys always do a final walk-through and ask if there is anything else that needs to go. She said that is it. Apparently the tv was hidden in the living room under trash, boxes, furn., etc. Long story short: I called the client to explain that her being completed packed and ready was part of the deal. She said, "I am sorry I am disabled and my back was hurting", she also mentioned her family or friends didn't show up to help. I told her we had offered multiple times for us to help with the packing and she always stated it would be taken care of. She then told me well I gave your guys each $100 tip to take care of the extra work, to which I replied we are a business, we are not here to loose money. I appreciate you tipping the guys but that doesn't have anything to do with that fact that the business is loosing money. She kept stating, "that she couldn't help that she was disabled." So basically she came to the conclusion that it was my fault the stuff wasn't packed because she was disabled. I never yelled at her, but my voice did get a little squeaky in disbelief after arguing my case and her always replying "I can't help that I'm disabled." At then end of the conversation I did offer to personally help her load the tv at no cost, since she had to come back anyway to get more stuff at a later date. I had my guys take pictures of the areas as well as the inside of our truck when it was loaded. Anyone with a brain can look at this less than 1/2 full truck and say there is no way this would take much more than an hour to load. Her review has many false comments, exaggerations, and meaningless remarks. A remark she made during a previous phone conversation should of warned us of what we were getting into "My doctor changed my medicine to pills that are $2000 a month, I know why he did it; so I wouldn't have enough money to SUE him".

Jeff came to our house in Jefferson, AR and did a thorough walk through. He gave us a fixed rate figure the next morning. After getting other carriers' quotes, we decided to go with Fixed Rate Moving, largely because of our favorable impression of Jeff and because of the excellent rating on Angie's List. Chris and his crew showed up on time the day of the packing. My wife and I had already packed the boxes, and the crew packed the trucks with the boxes, furniture, appliances, and all sorts of miscellaneous items. They were very courteous and efficient--wasting no time and working diligently to get our large shipment packed and ready to go. We had a large piece that required quite a bit of extra handling and preparation to get on the truck, but Chris was prepared and all went well. We filled two 28-foot trucks by the end of the day. Chris' skills at packing the trucks, using every available inch of space without damaging the goods, was quite impressive. We travelled to our new home in New Mexico. On Monday morning, Chris and crew arrived as scheduled. Again they worked almost nonstop to get the trucks unloaded. The heavy piece again presented special problems that Chris and his crew handled without a glitch. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised that the whole experience went so well, and that our "stuff" survived the trip with so little damage. There was one small paint chip on one piece. We did not notice it at all, but Chris immediately brought it to our attention when he could have easily let it go unnoticed. It was insignificant damage, but we were impressed by Chris' professionalism in pointing it out to us. We were not looking forward to this moving process. We had heard so many horror stories. But the experience with Fixed Rate Moving, with Jeff, Chris, Sam, Joseph, and all of the other crew was as stress-free and painless as possible. The professionalism and courtesy displayed by all was a very positive experience. The fact that our life's possessions arrived on time and intact made the expense of the move well worth it. My wife and I would highly recommend Fixed Rate Moving to anyone in need of such services.

I got an estimate from the business owner within 24 hours of my initial phone call because he was already working in the area so he came right over. He told me they would work me in because my moving service was a simple one. It was a tricky move because the organ width was too wide for the closest door. They had to carry the organ around to the rear of the house and enter through the patio doors. The movers were timely, professional and it took all of 15 minutes for them to move that organ to the basement. I am extremely happy with the company and I will definitely use them again!

The movers came on time and packed well and as quickly as they could, not breaking anything. They were respectful and worked hard and carefully. However, the informal estimate badly underestimated the time it would take and therefore the cost. One item had to be delivered later because there was simply no time to do it on the day scheduled despite the fact that the movers worked much later into the evening than they had thought they would have to.

First of all we appreciate your business. Secondly we are very sorry you had a less than satisfactory experience with us. We were unable to give an binding estimate due to the amount of books and used boxes you wanted us to use, and also the difficulty of the unload at your new steep split-level home. The informal quote we gave was underestimated, but in our defense hourly rates are fair for both of us by paying for exactly what is done. Our crew worked hard and apparently did a good job. We hope you enjoy your new home and someday might let us try and make it up to you. Regards, Jeff

The first contact was when they sent out an employee to do a complete walk through of our house and provide us with an exact quote. This is an amazing option because it gets rid of all guess work or estimating on the cost. They got us the quote within 1 business day and made sure to keep contact on the official move date and time to ensure that it did not need to be changed. The price that was quoted is exactly what was charged. The moving day. Two guys showed up on time and ready to work. We have used other movers in the past and that was a struggle for them. My husband offered to help and they told him to have a seat and that they had it handled. They moved all of the boxes we had packed, disassembled our furniture and loaded it on the truck. Took about 2 and a half hours to do a 1200 sq ft house, storage in the attic and underneath the house. When they arrived to the new house they unloaded the truck and reassembled all furniture. They made sure to ask where we wanted everything to go. Including where we wanted the beds, couch and other big items. Both guys were super nice and made the experience very pleasant. They came to do a job and definitely went above and beyond that. I would use them again and again.

They were very professional in preparation for the move. Their final price was the price agreed on. The loading process went very well. They arrived at the time they said they would. The only problem we encountered was in setting up the furniture. They did not set up,the bedroom furniture correctly. They were in a hurry at the end thus the quality of their performance decreased. However for the amount charged, their performance was excellent.t.

There were no damages to the house or my belongings. The men know what they are doing and are careful with the move. I know home moving is not the only thing they do, but they are definitely good at it. Again, very fast and professional.
Description of Work: Excellent service at a great price. A different local company charged more than double a year ago for the exact same home move. There were no hidden fees as advertised. The men were professional, efficient and punctual. They showed up a few minutes early and began work right on time. I moved from a house to an apartment across town. Despite the awkward stair cases and heavy lifting, the men had a positive attitude and never complained once.

Moved apartment from Little Rock to Arkadelphia.
Description of Work: These young men did a great job. They packed up my Mom's apartment in Little Rock and moved her to Assisted Living facility in Arkadelphia. Fast, efficient, charming and hard workers. Will recommend them and use them again.

Overall Our experience with Fixed Rate Moving company was great. The staff is very friendly. We experienced two separate moves with them because we closed on our house before our apartment was ready. The company had to move some of our things into storage to stay for one week and the other things were scheduled to stay until we purchased another home. Chris the teamleader was wonderful in organizing everything. He also devised a plan that was cost efficient being that the move was in two different cities and they had to make two trips. I did notice a few small scratches on my daughters armoir but for all of the work that they did including moving a piano, I would definetly use them again without hesitation. They worked from start to finish and never once wasted any time. You won't go wrong. By the way to move our things from storage to the apartment and all beds completely put together, it ran about 400 dollars. I will never move again without this moving company!
Description of Work: This company served a two fold purpose for my family. We moved from a 2000 square foot home to a 1200 sq foot apartment. Because of our closing date we had a week before we could move into our apartment. They had to move our things to a storage unit. Some of the things had to be moved the very next week to an apartment and some of our things were moved to the unit to stay.

Called for a quote and was treated with professionalism. Called a second time and set time and date. Company called the day before move to reconfirm. On the day of the move we were called and advised that one of the crew called off. They had another employee coming in, but they would be delayed by an hour and a half, but said they would bring a third mover to assist at no extra charge. They called when they were on the way and to give us an ETA. They showed up and went right to work. There was absolutely no wasted time. When they arrived at the new house they placed everything where we requested. They hooked up appliances and checked to make sure they worked correctly. They completed the move of a 3 bedroom house in less than 4 hours. All of the movers were friendly and extremely polite. I have already recommended them to a coworker. Very pleased with this company.

I had several pieces of heavy hardwood furniture that I needed to move to the 2nd story. The guys arrived promptly, handled the furniture taking care not to scratch the furniture or the walls. They were courteous and friendly. The job was completed quickly and efficiently. I will use them again.

They showed up on time and wrote down the time they started (not the appointment time which was 15 minutes earlier) immediately. We showed them what needed to be moved and they got started right away. They moved efficiently and quickly - only stopping once to drink water. They handled our furniture and items carefully and there was no damage done to anything. They worked hard throughout the job and the price we were quoted was exactly what we paid. Great overall experience and we would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Moved a 1 bedroom apartment on the third floor to a 2 bedroom apartment on the third floor.
