Description of Work: I had one couch and two chairs reupholstered. They picked up my items and also brought them back when done. Steve Elkins was very professional and so willing to help with samples for me to pick from. The result was awesome and I would highly recommend them to anyone in the market to makeover their outdated furniture.

 + -1 moreProvider directed me to purchase correct amount of fabric for project, ensuring an adequate amount (considering design repeat) but also ensuring there would be no costly fabric left over unsued. Project was a small one - two cushions. I provided fabric, shop provided foam and upholstery service. Turnaround time for project less than two weeks. Price seems high but in line with other quotes I received for this project. Provide/staff helpful and friendly. Shop is small, crowded, and dingy - no frills establishment. However they did a nice job, in a timely manner and were pleasant folks with whom to do business. They also completely cleaned and polished my midcentury chair before returning it to me.

 + -1 moreThe furniture is very old--the items were used when my parents got them in the 1930s--and took all the normal wear of daily use in a small house with three kids. They were reupholstered in the 1960s, but then went on to take abuse from pets and multiple moves. These folks did an excellent job! The furniture looks like fine antiques you'd find in a top-end shop. Even the spot where the dog chewed the wooden claw looks great. Besides being beautiful, the seats are comfortable. They took just a little longer than estimated, but the wait was well worth it. Every detail is perfect.
Description of Work: Replaced cushions, repaired, and upholstered old couch, chair, and ottoman.

 + -1 moreThey were professional, courteous, and friendly. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend their work. The cushion turned out to be very comfortable and high-quality, and the work was done in less than the two week time they had projected.
Description of Work: They ordered a great cushion for a long handmade Taos bed couch. I dropped off the old slipcover, and they made a custom cushion for it.

He actually made a mistake that was very expensive for him, but corrected it and had my items to me before Thanksgiving as I had requested. I'm not sure how he managed it, but I really appreciated that he took care of it and met the deadline. He does beautiful work. He is a very nice and professional man. I will recommend him and use him again.

After a while, I decided to get it fixed and hope he wouldn't fall on it again. I was very pleased with the repair - I can't even see where it was broken.

 + -1 moreTHEY ARRIVED ON THE TIME SET TO SHOW US SAMPLES OF FABRIC TO LOOK AT AND CHOOSE. FOUND THE FABRIC RIGHT AWAY. HE TOLD US HE'D COME TO GET THE CHAIRS AND OTTOMAN WHEN HE WAS FINISHED WITH ANOTHER PROJECT. HE DIDN'T WANT THE CHAIRS TO SIT THERE IN THE SHOP NOT BEING WORKED ON AND OF COURSE WE'D HAVE TO MOVE OTHER CHAIRS IN OUR HOUSE TO SIT ON UNTIL THEY WERE DONE. VERY THOUGHTFUL. HE ARRIVED TO PICK UP THE CHAIRS AND THEY WERE DONE IN A WEEK AND A HALF. HE ALSO MADE COVERS FOR THE HEAD OF THE CHAIR AND ARM COVERS N/C. HE COULDN'T SAY ENOUGH OF THE QUALITY OF OUR CHAIRS, THEY ARE OLD CLASSIC CLUB CHAIRS. HE THOUGHT THEY CAME OUT BEAUTIFULLY AND THEY ARE. I WOULD RECOMMEND BURL/ELKINS IN A HEARTBEAT. WONDERFUL PEOPLE AND FANTASTIC WORK!

 + -1 moreThey were very responsive, even brought fabric samples to my office. Picked up the chairs and ottoman from my home. They were there when they said they would be. Within a short time (less than two weeks) the chairs and ottoman were done and returned to me. Again they were there when they said they would. Good quality work and a reasonable price. My chairs look like new for less than the cost of new.

 + -1 moreSteve Elkins (Burl's son) was able to get incredibly close to a perfect match with his leather supplier (he had hundreds of fine leather samples from which to chose). It took a while for the leather to arrive, but they got right on the project once it did; the finished product was superb and totally worth the wait and the cost. We will use them again very soon.
Description of Work: We had 2 large sofa cushions and one large chair cushion we wanted covered in top grain leather to match the rest of the pieces. .

 + 0 moreThey did the repairs in a timely manner and delivered them on time. They are very nice and polite. I can't even recognize the legs on the chair. After being run into by a vacuum cleaner for thirty years they look great after being refinished.

 + -1 moreSee above under description of services performed. I will use Elkins' upholstery services again.
Description of Work: I called for an estimate to recover a sofa, and Mr. Elkins came out within a week. He gave me an estimate (which he upheld), told me the fabric yardage I would need, the turnaround time once they picked up the sofa, and that how quickly they could get to the project depended on the number of jobs ahead of mine. He did say that once they picked up the sofa, it would be back within a given amount of time. And he was a man of his word. It was picked up and back in slightly less than 2 weeks. I purchased a striped fabric for the body and seat cushions, two different fabrics for the loose back pillows, and asked for a different welting on each of the different pillow fabrics, I was so pleased and impressed at how perfectly the stripes were matched from the bottom of the sofa in the front, across the seat cushion, up and over the back (including the welt at the top), My father was an upholsterer and I knew quality workmanship. I recommend Elkins upholstery without a qualm.
