Plumber Andy arrived within an hour of our call to the office. He was neatly dressed, professional in demeanor and discussion. He checked inside the house and then the outside lines. After identifying the problem, Andy described the procedure to be done and gave the cost. He completed the work within 30 minutes and then replaced seal and flange on a toilet.

I called them to repair a leak under my kitchen sink. A previous owner had kind of rigged things together and the 50 year old pipes were in poor shape. The estimate was $530 to redo all the plumbing under the sink. If I also wanted to replace my noisy insinkerator it would be $859. I asked how long it would take and I was told 'about two hours, maybe longer.' I thought that sounded like a lot of money per hour because I knew what the PVC pipes and insinkerator cost. I was told 'we get our prices out of a book,' and that the prices are standardized. They also touted their warranty as the best in town. I passed on the repair. They were on time and professional, but I called another plumber because I felt their quote was excessive. I ended up paying half as much to another company (apparently they must use a different book) including the insinkerator replacement. They offered the same warranty.

Appointment was scheduled for 8:30 and technician called 20 minutes out and arrived a little late. I had to pay $40 just to get them to the house. The technician named Frank was very courteous and started pricing each item. He started with the tub and quoted it at $175, he then said to rebuild one of the toilet tanks would cost $373. I told him I could go buy three new tanks down the road for about $40 each instead of a rebuild and wanted to know how much he would charge to install but wasn't sure. He said it would cost $80 just to diagnosis the kitchen sink. I told him his prices were ridiculously high compared to other plumbers that I named to him. I paid him the $40 and told him I would have to get someone else. Here is the thing that really upset me, he hit my mailbox, I saw him walk down to check the damage and then DRIVE OFF with no mention. I called to report with no call back. I'm out $40 plus probably $300 for a new mailbox!
Description of Work: Have a tub that is not draining, a kitchen sink with a possible leak, a toilet with a broken seal so it is continuing to run, and two other toilet tanks I wanted checked with a possible tank replacement on one.

Our new heater seems to be working well and we are glad that when the day comes that it will stop working, the drain pan and the hoses to the outisde will prevent another flood in our laundry room. As for the price, I would like to have been able to purchase a heater we could install ourselves but the new specs required a professional. And, the maintenance contract is well worth the added expense. We were especially grateful to Angie's list and Arrow for providing us with a 10% off coupon which covered all of the taxes. Our sign-up fee to join Angie's List was returned over 20 times for that one job.
Description of Work: Arrow had serviceman Josh Gordon come out to give us an estimate. He was there within 6 hours of our call. There is a $40 charge for this. Although we were interested in a tankless heater, this was out of our price range so he suggested installing a Reem water heater, complete with drip pan and drain lines to the outside and optional service contracts. Our tank came with a10 year warranty and there was a 6 year warranty on parts and labor. For the next 6 years they will come out and drain the tank and do other maintenance which should extend the life of the tank. We were very pleased with the amount of time Josh spent answering our questions and discussing the problem. He didn't make me feel like some of my questions were "silly" or try to talk down to us. Before talking to him I was inclined to get other estimates but he convinced me that were were in good hands. Being "do-it-yourselfers" I was particularly interested in hearing why, after years of purchasing water heaters in the $300 price range, we were suddenly having to spend over 3 times that amount. He said that plumbing supplies and labor have increased, in part because of government regulations that now have to be met. Our work was scheduled two days later. We had hoped for 24 hours, but they were very busy. The servicemen arrived around the time they promised, were very professional and took care to make as little mess as possible. We had been told that it would probably be an all day job, but the original man that arrived was pulled to another job and replaced by a team of two, so they finished the work several hours earlier than estimated. The only complaint I had after viewing their work was that they had drilled holes through the outisde wall and inserted the two pipes where I was able to see daylight by looking through. Knowing that vermin could easily enter there (and we have a good share of them where we live), I asked for a solution. They tried fitting a metal ring around the pipe to cover the hole, but because of the siding it wouldn't fit. They then put a thin line of silicone around it, which I'm not convinced will be sufficient for keeping rodents out. The workmen did not seem to be able to offer a more suitable solution so this is something we will have to deal with ourselves.

we called for a quote for the repairs needed, got a quote the same day. I asked for 2 quotes, one for the entire job and one for just the repair with the pipe exposed and the bad section exposed. they happily supplied the quotes. we had the line exposed and they were here the next morning to execute the repair. the job went smooth and fast, the line was blown out for foreign objects and moisture, pressure tested, reconnected to my generator, and the technician waited while I started and tested the generator. all was good. I have used arrow plumbing for many, many years with similar results. they have always analyzed the problem and recommended fixes with alternate solutions. they have all the diagnostic equipment required for proper diagnosis as well as all the need equipment and too to complete even the most complicated of tasks. their personnel are well trained on the use of their equipment and tools, which makes them very efficient. I have had problems with their work on rare occasions, but have been well satisfied with the resolution, and the ease of gaining a satisfactory solution. I realize they are very expensive, but well worth every dollar. I know when I pay for the very best that is exactly what I get from arrow.

There is a small indentation where the sewer cap ties into the city line. This was the alleged problem. There is also a "bump" in the line under the house. This was never addressed by Arrow as a problem. Since this seemed enormously expensive I asked by son-in-law to do some investigation for me. He met with the supervisor at Arrow and they never backed off the estimate or offered any potentional alternative solutions. I asked if replacing the toilet would help and was told no. One of the issues is the sewer line is 15' deep so excavation at this depth is expensive and can be dangerous. We discussed with serveral knowledgable resources (including showing the DVD and sharing the issues regarding the depth of the sewer line) and NO ONE felt this estimate was reasonable. Finally we flushed the line and replaced the toilet with a high pressure flush toilet. No problems since then. Cost less than $500. Since this was a DIY project we did not incur labor charges. The plumber, Chris Clerk, was nice, professional and on time. He did some other work (dripping faucet in other bathroom) which although expensive seems to have solved the problem. They offered financing.
Description of Work: Provided estimate on toilet/sewer line repair. My toliet never backed up but sometimes would not flush. After several years of problems and rooter service (although usually after a day or two it would be flushing again) I decided it was time to have this problem looked at. All of this information was provided at time of service. The plumber ran a camera through the sewer line and came up with the $26,000 repair estimate. This did not include the $375 + charge for the service call and camera scan.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We remember it well, and appreciate being given the opportunity to serve you. Yours is truly a unique set of circumstances, and we are very sympathetic to the concerns about cost for our customers. In fact, if there is one thing that out technicians hate more than anything, it's those rare occasions when the permanent solution to our customer's problems turns out not to be a simple fix, but one requiring extensive (and sometimes very expensive) methods. We wish that all solutions were easy, and cheap. But as Arkansas' leader in residential pipe rehabilitation, we have found that sewer lines are too important to the health and well being of our customers and their homes to roll the dice on what often turns out to be only a temporary fix to their problems. Experience has taught us that new fixtures do not fix bad pipes, and bad pipes always get worse, not better. But this is one of those times when we hope we were wrong - we're very glad to hear that so far the commode replacement appears to be helping, and that your family has not yet experienced additional problems. Should you experience a plumbing emergency, we hope you will remember the professionalism and care our technicians showed while serving you, and give us a call. We consider our customers part of our family - even if they give us an "F". We hope for a chance to "re-take the exam", when we're certain we can improve that score! We wish you well - blessings!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I'm so sorry you weren't happy with our service. Please, though, be reassured - one of the many things that makes our company unique in our market is our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. While you did not ask for a refund, I have authorized a refund check written to you, and mailed to your service address. Because we don't often have dissatisfied customers of any kind, I asked our staff to pull the paperwork associated with this call. I couldn't imagine why you weren'y given your repair and replacement options. Our standards require every technician to give every customer all options for repair and replacement, along with all pricing in advance of any work performed so you can choose which options and price you feel best meetst the needs of your family and your budget. The $40 is only the dispatch fee, or minimum charge in the event that you choose not to have it repaired or replaced after seeing the options and prices. It is really nothing more than a travel fee associated with our "Warehouse On Wheels", wherein we stock all the parts - including all the repair or replacement faucets and parts - that give us the ability to offer different options and prices, along with the ability to fix it right, the first time - and usually in one trip! I was relieved to find the option sheets used when you declined the price options he gave you for both repair and replacement. This does occasionally happen - so he only charged you the dispatch fee, as promised by the call taker during your initial call, and charged nothing at all for the time spent with you. As my refund proves, your satisfaction with our service is far more valuable to us than the money paid. We don't often have customers who not only don't choose an option, but then afterwrd feel as though they recieved no value whatsoever from the time spent with our technicians. Yet, clearly we failed you, and I want you to know that I'm very sorry. I truly do value your feedback, and hope to have a future opportunity to serve you. We train every technician every single day in ways to improve our service. Your feedback has been very helpful in giving me more direction in our quest for 100% Customer Satisfaction. I wish the very best for you and your family, and hope for a future opportunity to prove it. Thank you!

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to assist you with your plumbing problems. We are very sympathetic to how pricing affects everyone differently, and know that there are many different prices for "rooter" services - some less, some more than ours. But we believe that you can search high and low, and not find many plumbers as highly skilled or professionally trained, nor any who arrive so well prepared with so many parts, the best tools and equipment, with a faster response time, nor who offer such a strong written guarantee and the longest written warranties. We hope to serve your family always, and ask for that opportunity. You count on us to always make helping you our number one priority, and to always provide you with a superior service experience.

I called about a water leak showing up on the floor of a downstairs bathroom and some water backing up into that toilet and bathtub while I was running a clothes washer. The back-up was most likely due to a temporary blockage and that was what the person initially focused on. While reaching under my kitchen sink to get a stopper I found a big pool of water there. That led pretty quickly to determining that my garbage disposal had a large hole in it, which led to water leaking under the sink and making its way to the bathroom. I doubt this would have been discovered otherwise and we might have continued to focus on the backup. So, I decided to just replace the garbage disposal with one he had on the truck and to wait to see if I had more backup problems. I was given a quote for what it would cost to take care of that if it showed up again (it hasn't). The technician showed up early for the appointment, was extremely polite, and took care to keep from tracking dirt in the house.

Arrow has an estimate book, and performed all repairs and pricing in accordance with that book. The toilet repair required extensive chipping out of the original fixture.
Description of Work: Our house had an odor at times, Arrow repaired a vent line that was installed incorrectly when construction was done, repaired several loose fittings, and replaced a damaged toilet, including the repair of the toilet setting in the floor of the house. The price seemed a little high, but I had other plumbers work on the problem without success, so overall, they were able to repair what other people could not, and it was done in a timely, professional manner.

So pleased you are happy with the work we provided. We know that the last thing people want is a plumbing bill higher than they expected, but as you found out, our prices are set based on the service provided, not on how long it takes - and that price is provided in advance of the work performed, so that you are never surprised by your invoice. Once the work begins, we stand by our price, no matter how hard the work turns out to be, nor how long it takes to overcome your problem. UPDATED 17MAY2013 -- It seems your business's ability to correctly answer a direct question like, "Will I be charged for this estimate?" is on par with your ability to read. It's bad enough Arrow Plumbing's attempting to spin bad reviews into advertisements, but please refrain from attempting to put words in my mouth in an attempt to make what I've stated above seem false: It's disingenuous and I counsel anyone reading this to consider the fact that Arrow Plumbing would stoop to such obvious inflammatory tactics when confronted with a fairly given negative review. I stand by my statements that Arrow Plumbing's dispatcher told me there would be no cost incurred for the visit and that the service tech (again, who did an admirable job with what AP gave him to work with) insinuated that this scenario was an unfortunately common thing. Perhaps your records failed to reflect this? In addition, and it is only my opinion, but Arrow Plumbing charging it's customers to go into the area where the work is to take place is farcical. Charging them multiple times under the auspices of there being more than one task when you would only be going into the area once boarders on fraudulent.
Description of Work: Provider came out to make an estimate, person booking the appointment claimed there would be no charge for the estimate; there was ($50). Instead of estimate, service tech tried to sell a form of pluming cafeteria plan that included charging twice for things like going into a crawlspace (because two leaks in the same 5 feet were considered separate items.) Pointed this out to the ST, who did his best to make the situation tolerable but the prices and gouging by overlap of work were just too much to take this company seriously.

Thank you, sir, for your feedback. I was concerned, so I pulled the records of the call in question. According to our service ticket, you asked for a bid price for a tankless water heater and a hose bib repair. The ticket shows that we gave you both estimates, and that while we normally charge a $40 dispatch fee, we did not invoice you at all. This is particularly concerning to me, in light of your comments above, stating you paid $50.00. I will call you personally to discuss the matter, to ensure that if you paid for any service for which you were dissatisfied, that we refund your money - that's one of the things we do that others don't. We were very disappointed to lose the opportunity to help you with your water heater and hose bib. It is true that unlike many other companies who are in the business of offering "free" estimates, we have a minimum charge associated with all calls (only $40 during business hours, $75 for nights, holidays and weekends - with NO overtime chages). BUT - also unlike those "free" companies, our technicians are all licensed and professionally trained to the highest standards, are certified drug free, have passed criminal background checks, and arrive prepared, driving a Warehouse On Wheels with all the parts, equipment and tools to perform any job right - the first time. In fact, that is what our dispatch fee is - simply a travel charge, for bringing our warehouse to your door - which is a service unique to our company in this market. How does that benefit you? We don't give "estimates" at all - we give you a rock solid price that won't change once we begin, using only the highest trained, licensed people, who install only the very best products - we'll never cut corners. In fact, we're so confident in the quality of our installations and products, that ALL our work is covered by the longest warranties in our market, and our warranties ALWAYS include ALL our labor. NO COMPETITOR can match our written warranties. And the best part? We offer a money-back, 100% Satisfaction Guarantee - in writing, to every customer, every time. We hope you will give us a future opportunity to serve you. We're certain that after experiencing the differences between our company and others, you will agree with thousands of Arkansas all across the central Arkansas area who consider our service the very best service they've ever received.

They were on time and very professional. They advised that they could go under all my landscaping, I was skeptical. In the end I was right and they had to dig several large holes in the yard. Since they had rented the bore machine I was charged for it. They did attempt to fix the landscaping to a degree. Overall I was satisfied and have used them since with good results. The two other estimates I got were pretty close to theirs, so I guess the price was the going rate.

Thank you for your response, and for your great feedback. Yes, we well remember the job. We remember how tough it was for you to be out of water, so we ran a temporary line right away, to ensure that you and your family had water while waiting on repairs to be completed. Most commonly, water lines of your type are fairly predictable, and present a number of successful options for replacement. But boy, did we did encounter more challenges that first anticipated. To save your yard and landscaping, the technicians first attempted to pull the line under ground, but the line pulling equipment broke through your old line. So we sent the crew to pick up our boring machine (probably not a rental, as we are one of the only plumbing companies who own our own trenchless equipment, and do not rent, unless our equipment is being repaired. When our equipment is needed, we do include equipment fees just like rentals, however.). The ground continued to resist us, but our guys pushed through, and were finally successful. While all trenchless repair requires minimal digging for equipment access, we do remember replacing sod for your yard, since regrettably the "trenchless" repair at your home did in fact require more digging than most, and certainly more that expected. We appreciate you, and thank you for allowing us to serve you. As you know, your new water line (like all our products) is guaranteed to provide you with years and years of trouble-free water service. Call us anytime - day or night, holidays or weekends - and we'll help you right away.

I had a leak in my pressure regulator. They gave me an upfront price plus I had a $50 coupon which prompted my call to them in the first place. They replaced the regulator, added a new shut-off valve and put a new cover(similar to the water meter cover) over their repairs. It was a rainy day and the rep put on shoe covers before coming into my house and cleaned up the work site after he was finished.

I give them a D rating but an F for price.
Description of Work: I used Arrow Plumbing to get an estimate on running a new water line and they actually charged for a dispatch charge. I called others and they were the only one that charged that so I wasn't happy with them. They didn't even mention the charge until they had came out and gave me estimate. they charged $40.00 just for coming out.

Member, We were very disappointed to lose the opportunity to help you with your water service. It is true that unlike many other companies who are in the business of offering "free" estimates, we have a minimum charge associated with all calls. BUT - also unlike those "free" companies, our technicians are all licensed and professionally trained to the highest standards, are certified drug free, have passed criminal background checks, and arrive prepared, driving a Warehouse On Wheels with all the parts, equipment and tools to perform any job right - the first time.

It went great. Upfront about pricing. Prompt (was early... waiting for me as I arrived home from work). He tried the less expensive and simpler solution first. It did not solve the problem. He then used the snake which fixed it. Worked with footies and brought his own drop cloth. Left with the area clean. Very polite and helpful. Also did a quick complimentary check of my water heater and took a minute to realign a vent pipe that was not properly set.
Description of Work: Kitchen sink clogged after a very large amount of food was put down the drain in an attempt to dispose of it. Pipes under sink had also been opened up. Technician put pipes together and checked to see if clog was still a problem. It was. He checked to see if it was just due to food stuck in the trap. It was not. He ran the snake through the sink line into the pipes in the wall. This fixed the problem.

Thank you, for giving us the opportunity to serve you. We measure our success by the satisfaction of our customers, and like all service companies, our price is determined by what it costs us to provide our product; to train and equip our plumbing professionals to arrive with the right parts, equipment and expertise to deliver the most prompt and professional service available in our market. And with the only money back guarantee in our market, you can bet we work very hard to keep every promise. Thank you far taking time to review our service. We value your feedback, and appreciate your business.
