Description of Work: Contacted Splashes and asked about ad that ran in our hometown newspaper.$200 for Pool Opening service.Which included only, checking hoses, some cleaning of inside of pool (30 minutes approximately), and sweeping off the deck.If opening pool chemicals needed to be added, those cost extra.A hose on the sand filter was bad.Pool servicemen had to drive back in town and get a replacement hose.Extra $75.Hose replaced."Pool Opening" completed.total bill $275.00.This was in April.We added pool chemicals, ourselves, and commenced to 'work' on getting the pool ready for swimming.It was an ongoing battle, until the Middle of JUNE!Called Splash's and they told us to change the sand in the sand filter.We did.Nothing changed.MORE CHEMICALS.Called store again. Store reminded me that they charged $75 an hour. Acted as if they were not interesting in coming out and trouble-shooting for us.OKAY THEN.....My brother came to help us with this mess.In a couple weeks, pool was cloudy clear, water clean, but still not completely clear.Seemed to be a never ending stream of 'white cloudiness' coming from somewhere.It appeared that the 'cloud' was entering the pool, through the jet filtering water into the pool, after running through the sand filter.After MUCH reading, youtubing, hands on experience, my brother had practically become a pool technician!I had spent at the very least, $500, on pool chemicals and new vacuuming hoses and other items, trying to get the 'cloudiness' out of the pool.FINALLY, my brother thought, 'oh, I'll check that NEW hose that the pool place put on.' OMG!It was on BACKWARDS!And instead of filtering 'stuff' out of our pool, through the sand filter, it was filtering 'stuff,' back into the pool!!NOT GOOD!Brother switched the hoses positions and we cleaned the sand filter and added some chemical for cloudiness and now it's SPARKLING CLEAR.HUNDREDS OF WASTED DOLLARS LATER!!
