The fire was at my in-laws home. My mother-in-law is not in good health. They were in Springfield,Mo when the fire happened taking training for at home dialysis. We told them to not worry about it and we would "get the ball rolling" and to finish up the training. Her helath is more important. I notified our State Farm agent who called in the fire marshall and adjusters. The adjuster in turn called ServePro to come clean up. My husband & I also have full time jobs so we were unable to supervise their work much. We were basically told to stay out of the way, so we did. When they were through, they sprayed something in the house & noone was allowed in for 2 days. When we were allowed back in on a Sat. problems immediately showed up. When I walked in, there is a grandfather clock immediately to the right. A piece of glass was broken & the glass was all smeared. In the kitchen, there were 2 dents in the refridgerator door. As I opened up cabinets, our everyday dishes & glasses were on the top shelf. Serving trays were on the bottom. Who puts their everyday dishes on top where they are hard to reach? Enery cabinet was like that. All messed up. When I went upstairs, nothing had been cleaned except the carpet. No bedding, curtains, towels, nothing. We called and asked for a meeting with Joel, the "boss" on the crew. I walked him through the house pointing out problems. I was told that they never touched the clock. They had somebody else come in for it. He also told me that the smeared glass was probably from the chemicals that they sprayed & I would have to rewash every piece of glass in the house. He had no idea on how the dents got in the refridgerator door. He said that he personally watched the cabinets get wiped out. He had brought temp workers as they had been real busy. He shrugged his shoulders and told me to rearrange the dishes. Upstairs, he at first told me that no smoke got upstairs & besides every bedroom door was shut so they didn't need to be cleaned. Doesn't everyone know that smoke rises? I informed him that me, my son & a firefighter went upstairs and opened every window to let the smoke out. Nobody shut them so they were open when he got there. I asked him how many firefighters did I need to call back out to tell him that he was full of it. We walked into the master bedroom & I opened the door to the walkin closet. Every peice of clothing that was hung up was taken off of the hangers and folded. Why? I was asked how did I know where everything in the closet was as I don't live there. I informed him that I am the one who does all of the housework as my mother-in-law is not in good health so I know where everything goes as I am the one who puts it up. I was flat out called a liar. I went downstairs and told my husband who was talking to the contractor about smoke damaged paneling in the family room. Joel spoke up and said that all of those walls had been wiped off & that the paneling was good. Smoke stains were visable. Also, if all of the walls had been washed off, why were there cobwebs on the wall where the bed was? We had moved a bed downstairs several years ago as stairs were h****** my mother-in-law. He went out to his van & came back in with the drapes for the living & dining rooms. He couldn't even hang those back up right. After he left, I got to looking. The sheer panels were hung up inside out & upside down. State Farm has told me that they will pay me for all of the laundry that I had to do. All bedding, curtains, towels, extra blankets & clothes in the closets upstairs but that isn't the point. Nothing was even offered to get fixed. They had been paid by State Farm & didn't care.
Description of Work: They were hired by State Farm Insurance to clean up after a fire in the garage that also got part of the house. Their motto is "like it never happened". I have never seen such crappy work as these people preformed.
