Initially during the demolition faze, John did an OK job with the exception of not cleaning up after work each day. Then while doing the demolition of the floors in one of the upstairs bathrooms he knocked holes in the ceiling of the downstairs dining room which had been completely renovated in an earlier renovation. He was supposed to redo the entire bathrooms. He could not do drywall correctly, could not paint well at all. I had to fire him and bring in another sub-contractor to complete his work after he was fired because he could not do the work to a professional standard. I had him re-do the painting in both bathrooms and it was again done poorly and I told him to do it again. He called and told me that he didn't want to do it again. That he was finished. I immediately hired another contractor to fix his poor quality work and deducted that cost from the amount that I was to pay John. He threatened me with suing me for the remainder of the money that I used to get the work finished professionally. My attorney said to let him sue me and I relayed that information to him and he decided to not sue. During the period of the renovations, almost a full year, I had used many sub contractors. John was the worst one that I used and I would not ever use him again and never recommend him to anyone. Prior to hiring John, I had him walk with me downstairs and look at the renovations that had been done downstairs. He was extremely critical of the work that had been done downstairs and offered suggestions on how he would have done it to have made it better. He talked like he knew how to do quality work. "All talk and no walk!" He was terrible!
