Techne Concrete

When I first met with Daniel Jackson, the new owner of Techne Concrete, he was very polite and convinced me that he was able to build the patio of my dreams. By the end of the project, my opinions had changed. The patio project did not go as planned. Because his workers bailed on him, Daniel showed up on July 26th with two workers that he just picked up. Unfortunately, they had no experience dealing with concrete. At the end of the day, my patio did not look at all like the patio that had been promised to me Daniel realized this and promised to fix the patio. We scheduled for August 4th, but he cancelled because he could not get any workers. When he showed up on August 8th, Daniel refused to fix my patio unless I gave him $300 cash to buy color for the concrete. (This was not the first time that he had asked for money before the job was completed. I had caved before, including writing a check for the workers.) I told him that I would gladly pay the balance after he completed the patio, as stated in our contract. Because I did not cave this time, I now have a patio that will hurt the value of my home: the concrete coloring is uneven, the flower bed is filled in with concrete and a board, the steps are unfinished, and the stamps are not crisp.

Scott's work was excellent and the job complete on time. The slope under the house was a little problematic and Scott figured a way to make the final product very attractive and functional. Well Done!

Scott was very professional and gave us a detailed estimate. He communicated well, and showed up when he said he would. He performed the work as he said he would, with no hidden extras or cost. We are very pleased with Scott's work and how he treated us throughout the entire process. We would use Scott again and highly recommend him.

First, I contacted another company and was unable to get in contact with them again after getting a quote. I called Scott Henning, owner of Techne Concrete, he answered all my questions and gave me a quote right away which was better than the original person I contacted. He was up front about other costs that could occur due to unforeseen work as well as preparation of the site and ect. I was also having some carpentry work done in the same area and he was accommodating to work around the other professionals. Actually, in my area, we received a significant amount of rain prior to my project beginning and had to push the schedule back a week and Scott was proactive and flexible in rescheduling . Work began on time and every thing went as planned. When small problems arose, Scott was very quick to find a solution and keep the ball rolling. He answered all my questions along the way and was easy to get in contact with and available on site while all work was being done. I asked him to do a few extra things ( score the concrete and take the fence down) which he did. I have had compliments on my new patio and have since passed Scott's info along to other people.
