Mr. Carvill requested 1/2 down to begin the job, which was paid. The job was not actually started for three months after that. We did have some bad weather, but I believe the job could have been started sooner. I felt like I really had to push him to get the job started. It might have been okay had he communicated with me each week and given me a status update. Once the job was started, it took four days of actual work. Another guy came out and hand rolled the deck with two coats of stain. The actual work was good. The day the deck was finished, Mr. Carvill requested payment even though there was still a little clean-up to do. Our agreement was 1/2 down at start and 1/2 at finish, but he insisted that this job cost him more than he expected (I don't think that is true) and he needed another partial payment. I did pay a little into my balance. A few days later the clean-up was done and the rest of the payment was made.
