Description of Work: After seeing this company had the highest reviews on Angie's List I contacted the company and left a voice mail. I received a phone call within 30 minutes asking what work I wanted done and my address. I was told I would get a call back within 330 days. It has been well over a month and still nothing! We were planning on doing a lot of renovations and were willing to spend the money on good work. It's sad how some guidance businesses work these days!

Description of Work: I called this company for an estimate. The gentleman that came out to my house was professional and friendly. We had work done in our home for the same issue about 20 months ago and were having to get some work re-done because the last company that performed the work 'mis-diagnosed' the reason why there was one spongy spot in our hardwood floors. The company that originally mis-diagnosed the issue and didn't fix what we paid them to do has agreed to fix the issue (and have properly diagnosed the issue this time) at no cost. Lewis & Co was professional, price seemed reasonable, and they diagnosed our floor issue properly.

 + -1 moreThe estimate was around $6700. He did an excellent job. I would not hesitate recommending him or using him again. He was very timely. He checked back with us all the time on the progress. They were here when they said they would be here. We felt very fortunate. We got him off of Angie's List. We would definitely use him again in the future and we have already talked to him about it.
Description of Work: We got an estimate from Lewis & Co Home Repair Services in July and they did the work for us. We'd had water damage due to the big storm that we had here so we had to have some drywall and stuff replaced.

Description of Work: LEWIS & CO HOME REPAIR SERVICES I just used Lewis & Co. Home Repair Services last week, and are still using them. It was $11,000 for several jobs, 2 things are done, and I have the estimates for the other things. They re-varnished my cabinets, and re-caulking done in the master bathroom.

Description of Work: Removed stove and refrigerator. Took kitchen floor down to subfloor and rebuilt it up, laid new floor. replaced stove and refrigerator. The stove was new. It was quite a job due to old water damage. The guys were a delight to work with. They are going to do some additional work for us. We were more than pleased with them. Also did a small amount of work in bathroom. Large ceramic job coming up.

 + 0 moreThis was an excellent experience. They arrived on time, worked efficiently and quickly, and cleaned up after the work was finished.
Description of Work: Due to damage to the roof of the sunporch, the ceiling was damaged and needed repair. This involved removing the ceiling fan and damaged panels and trim strips, replacing the panels and trim and reinstalling the fan. The work was finished in one day, and for the estimated price in spite of the fact that the workers ended up painting the entire ceiling (only partial painting was included in the estimate) to be sure that everything matched.

 + 5 moreNew shower is the jewel of the bathroom, with clear glass door, subway tile. It incorporated existing glass block window. New vanity fits precisely into tight space, has two sinks rather than the former one. Top is quartz. All the workmanship is first-rate. Workers were tightly scheduled to minimize total time. James Lewis worked carefully with us in the design, and stayed on top of the project. All the workers were a pleasure to have in the house, as well as being thoroughly professional.
Description of Work: Old tub removed, converted to custom shower. Old shower removed, converted to closet. Old vanity removed, new custom vanity installed. Old floor linoleum removed, new ceramic tile installed. Old toilet removed, new one installed.

 + 0 moreAs mentioned above, I didn't even get a call back about scheduling a time to come and give me an estimate. I thought this was very unprofessional and very disappointing. I absolutely do not recommend this person. This is just the type of unprofessionalism that gives contractors, remodelers, etc. a bad name.
Description of Work: After several attempts to contact this person, I finally spoke with someone who wanted a description of the work. I explained I needed to replace a window and needed some work on my staircase. She stated that he would need to contact me to schedule an appointment for estimate and he has yet to contact me. I'm not sure if he thought the job was too small, but my goal was to find someone who did good quality work, because, truth be told, I have several projects. Unfortunately, he missed out on this business. Very, very, very disappointing.

 + 0 moreHe did a good job. I think the shutters cost me about $100. It was a miserably hot day. However, he worked at it and got it done. He told me how much it would cost me before he started the work. He cleaned up the debris. He was a nice and polite guy. He worked very hard. Two weeks prior to this, he did some fencing work for me and my wife was very pleased with it. His price was reasonable. I will use his services in the future.
Description of Work: I used Lewis & Co. Home Repair Services, a couple of months ago. He put up some shutters for me.

 + 0 moreThe experience with James Lewis was a good one. He responded quickly after my son's house was burglarized and it was total unsecured. Since I live out of town and my son works long hours I was able to deal with him over the phone. He was very responsive and bought the locks and secured the house the morning I called him. I've never met him but he did exactly what he said he would and we were please with his work.
Description of Work: James installed new locks, fixed the door and improved lighting after my son's house was broken into. He tightened up the doors to make it harder for a burglar to get in. He also repaired rotten soffit boards, painted them and rerouted the water causing the problem.

James Lewis (one of the owners) was always available by cell phone and responded immediately to questions/concerns. We are delighted with the work and will definitely call on them again when we have a home project.
Description of Work: Remodeled a bathroom/laundry area and had a paneled wall repaired. Included ripping out old laminate flooring, old toilet and vanity, and old paneling. Installation of new paneling, new sink, toilet, and new ceramic tile flooring. Also included relocating a hot water heater from the laundry room to the adjacent crawl space area.
