Champion Windows and Home Exteriors of Little Rock

The salesman came to our house to talk to us and checked out the height of our condo...a bit over two stories tall. Since I knew that proper installation required that windows be installed from the outside, we were told they would use scaffolding. They do not use their own installers, they sub-contracted the job. And while Champion did stand behind the poor installation, it was extremely time-consuming and bothersome. They did not use scaffolding, which meant the windows had to be installed from the inside. There was damage to the paint on the window sills, which they will pay to paint. However since it is almost Christmas and our tree is in front of the windows, this will have to be done after the Christmas tree is down. There was total mis-communication between the installers and management. I called the person in charge of installation and was told they only use their own installation team for patio rooms. We felt very much caught between Champion and the sub-contractors, and it was uncomfortable. While they were nice guys, because the windows were installed from the inside, there was no insulation and areas that were supposed to be caulked, were not. Therefore, all of the windows had to re-installed. All we can do is hope that everything was done properly. The Champion people could not have been nicer. The windows are very attractive, but the installation was a nightmare. It took close to three months for them to finish the job. We were also told that they would contact our Property Owners Association to check any codes and inform them of the installation. They did not do that. We paid high dollar for these windows based on the Champion sales pitch and their promises. They did stand behind the installation, but we wish it had been done properly in the first place.
