One of our employees was requested to drop the computer off for repair on 09/08/11. Several weeks went by without word from the company and each time we called the number posted on their sign, invoice and door we never had anyone answer the phone nor did it go to voice mail. From 09/08/11 to 10/07/11, we attempted to pick up the computer 5 times. The office was closed on two occasions and excuses were made about the computer not being ready on the other three occasions. On 10/07/11 we attempted to pick up the computer at about 1:30 pm. We were told it was not ready but they were working on it. We told them we would be back at 4:00 pm to pick it up. W e returned at 4:00 pm and all four employees who were there at 1:30 pm were gone and the doors were locked. While we were there two other ladies came to the door and said they had brought their computer in three weeks earlier and had attempted to pick up their computer three times. We returned on 10/08/11 and again the morning of 10/10/11 three times. The first and second time the store was closed. I left and called the Hot Springs Police Dept. and they sent an officer to meet me at the store so that I could file a report. When we returned there was an employee there. The officer approached him about our computer. He acknowledged that it was still being repaired. The officer asked to see the computer and returned to me saying it was in a dozen or more pieces. At that point I requested that they put the computer in a box and give it back to me. I immediately took the computer to a reputable repair business and was told that it was not necessary to break it down in that manner to fix the DC Jack. There were also missing parts and screws. The computer is in the process of being evaluated for repair at this time. We live 63 miles one way from Computer Medics. We have traveled 126 miles round trip eight times in an attempt to pick up the computer. Our employee has put in 16 hours total time to try and get it back. Had it not been for the information and specialty software (required for our business) on it we could have purchased a new computer for less money.
Description of Work: We needed to replace the DC jack on a Tablet PC. This was a company computer that is used in the type of work that we do. The timely repair and return of the computer was critical.
