BURNS INSULATION AND SIDING

A representative came out and bid on the job and was very professional and courteous. I was excited about using this company over another company (who was less than impressive during the estimate process). After getting the insurance check to pay for the damages, I called Burns and asked them to schedule us for the work. I also specifically asked that they call me before coming to the house to perform the work. They indicated it would be about a week (it was a Friday). The following Friday, someone arrived at our house unannounced and knocked on the door. My wife makes a practice of not answering the door to strangers when home alone, and was taking care of our newborn baby. It turns out it was the workers from Burns. They had come by unannounced and then left, because I was at work and my wife did not open the door. I called the company and expressed my disappointment for not calling in advance. They promised to call before they came again. The next Wednesday, I got a call from the company saying workers would be at our house around 2-2:30 that afternoon after they finished a job. I was home at around 2:00...no workers ever arrived, and no phone call was made to tell me about a schedule change. Thursday morning, I got a call about 10 a.m. saying they would be at the house in about 30 minutes. I left work to meet them at the house. When I got home I tied up our dogs outside the back yard fence so they could work in the back yard. They were there, and got started about 10:30, at 11:30 my wife noticed they had dropped everything and left without notice. My wife called me at work, and I assured her they had probably gone to lunch. At 2:20 that afternoon, my wife called Burns and found out that one of the workers had hurt himself, and they would not be back that day. So the dogs finally got to go back into the yard, and the ladders, materials, & tools, stayed in our yard until the next day. The next day, the workers showed up right at 8:00 am, and started working again. Dogs were removed from the back yard again and put into the garage. By 8:45 the workers were gone again with no communication. The dogs went back into the yard after the gate was closed by my wife. At just before 2:00 pm, they arrived back at the house to finally finish the job, and left about an hour later, leaving their mess behind. The old guttering, the fascia that was pulled off when they removed the old guttering, old gutter brackets, nails and screws were left behind. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the 50 feet of guttering plus fascia that's in the back yard.
