This was the worst contractor experience we have ever had! We acted as the general contractor and built our own home out on B***** Lake. (We have had 20 years experience). Due to problems with the first company we received bids from, we had to seek the heating and air service elsewhere. After speaking with Adam Palmers sister, who answers the phone, she relayed there would be no problem getting out to the house and getting the work completed in a matter of a few days total. At that time we let them know we were in a time crunch. Adam was late to the first appointment to measure ducting, etc. He set the furnace in a couple of days and said our square main duct would have to be made and would take a few days. Three weeks later it was installed by another individual that works for Adam. He only works in the evenings and it took 3 visits just to get initial ducting finished. We had this gentlemen's cell phone number and had to call him ourselves just to find out when he was coming out, etc. Adam had absolutely no communication with us, would never answer his own cell phone. We called the office almost daily and had to speak to his sister, which was pointless. They acted like no one knew what was going on - we just got the run-around. After my husband confronted him at the house on one occasion about this not getting done in a timely manner, etc., Adam said "what do you want me to do about it?" Unbelievable that someone who owns their own business cares so little about making the customer a priority. Adam even tried to bring out the air conditioner and set it weeks before we were ready for it. My husband just happened to be out there and made him take it back. Because of our distrust that he would even show back up and finish, an agreement was signed that each party would agree to finish job and would in turn be paid a certain amount. (He actually had the nerve to ask for 80% after putting in the furnace, which we only paid 50% of after ducting was complete). He came out and set the air conditioner and we paid him all but the remaining $500. This would then be paid after furnace and air conditioner were running and grills placed. Adam showed up late as usual today, 9-7-10. When we arrived to check everything out at 4:30pm, the house was left wide open by Adam, he had pulled his van onto our newly poured driveway, which he admitted to on the phone, and there just happened to be a long rubber mark all the way up the newly poured drive. Wonder who left that???????????? Per a witness who was also at the house working, Adam was the only one that broke the barrier to the drive and pulled onto it. All of our other subcontractors know, as do most people that aren't completely ignorant, that you do not break a barrier and drive on new concrete. ALL of our other subs were respectful of the barrier and parked in the cul-de-sac and carried their equipment, etc in the house. We called Adam on his cell phone, which he would not answer, tried him on the office # but would not answer. Then tried the office # again from my own cell phone and he answered (he was probably taping our conversation due to the type of conversation from his end) and he admitted he was the one that pulled on the driveway, but (in a syrupy sweet voice) said he had no idea who would have left that mark on the driveway and "how terrible that was". When we asked why he pulled on the drive, he said he had to carry in the parts because it was raining and was doing that for us. Ha! All he had to bring in were the grills for the return air ducts and the floor and ceiling vent covers. They are wrapped in plastic. What a crock! He is pathetic! We are filing a police report. It will cost much more than the $500 still left on the bill to repair the drive. This guy is no good all around. HE CANNOT BE TRUSTED. Run away!!!!!!!!!!!!
