the work that his people did when they were there was very good but getting there was the problem. and i have been calling Steve for going on two years trying to get him to show up and finish the job. the last time we talked i even told him if he would come down that i would pay him to respray the whole house why he was here finishing what he started over two years ago.

The work was incredible an A+ level, however there were issues with him showing up when scheduled. I felt the work could have been done more quickly than the two weeks it took.
Description of Work: They reconditioned our log home. This involved stripping the logs with cornmeal and restaining them.

Description of Work: Terrible experience. The job took forever, the quality of the painting was very poor, and the paint was peeling within 2 weeks. Another painter came in to repaint and complete the job.

I requested information from Ozark Wood Care by submitting a web form I found on their web site. Less than 12 hours later, I received a call from Steve Schmidt who is the owner of the company. I asked him to come look at my house and give me an estimate. He said he was working in my area and would be by later that afternoon or the next day for sure. As promised, he showed up at my house less than 4 hours after our initial conversation. It is unusual in my area to even receive a call back from a contractor in a reasonable period of time, let alone them showing up for an estimate. Steve and Ozark Wood Care followed up promptly and did what he said he would do. So far so good!! When Steve arrived at my home he did a detailed inspection of my home to determine the services I would need. The stain on my log home had completely failed and he recommended stripping it down to the bare wood. He also recommended that we apply a wood preservative to the logs once they were stripped. The name of the preservative is ECO Wood Treatment. He claimed that it was entirely plant and mineral based, contained no chemicals and was safe for plants, animals and humans. The environment is very important to me so at this point he definitely had my attention! He also stated that unlike any other preservative, sealer or stain, the ECO wood treatment was MAINTENANCE FREE!! Wow! I know there are those of you who will scoff at that claim but it wasn't made by Steve at Ozark Wood Care, it is in the documentation of the manufacturer of the product. So we shall see. Steve gave me a verbal estimate on site and promised to give a written estimate no later than the next morning which he did. We agreed to the cost and he started the work 2 days later. Our experience with Steve Schmidt and the entire staff at Ozark Wood Care was outstanding to say the least. They did everything they promised they would, in a timely manner and left the job site cleaner than when they arrived. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone that needs construction work of any kind done and especially for painting and anything wood related. Steve Wilson
Description of Work: Ozark Wood Care stripped all of the failed stain off my log sided home with a corn cob blaster. Then they applied a wood preservative called ECO wood treatment to the bare logs.

Ozark Wood Care (aka Paint Pros) refinished my log home in May 2013. They did a great and thorough job, worked fast, made repairs and corrections to help prevent future wood damage, and cleaned up the mess. I was on a business trip while they worked, and the owner/manager stayed in contact with me, sending pictures and updates constantly. They had quoted a contingency to cover delays and unexpected issues, but they worked fast, the weather held out, and they came in on budget. I have gotten so many compliments and immediately received an offer to buy my home. Thank you Ozark Wood Care!

We received a quote via a personal visit to evaluate the work we requested; i.e., painting the exterior of our house. We considered the price quoted excessive and out of our affordable range.
Description of Work: We did not use this business as the price quoted to paint the exterior of our house was, in our opinion, extremely high.

A representative from Paint Pros came to our house for a free estimate. He walked through the house with me, asked several questions, and seemed very knowledgeable. The quote was less than half of what we had been quoted by a contractor, so we chose Paint Pros. They did a good job of coordinating with other people who were working on the house at the same time, so that no one hindered anyone else's work, space, timeline, etc. Once the job was completed, we discovered there had been a miscommunication about exactly which parts of the house needed painting. They ended up doing more than we had intended for them to do. While we were charged for that extra piece of work, they did discount that part of the job significantly. I wasn't particularly happy about the situation, but I do think it was an honest mistake. I realize now that I should have made sure the quote was in writing just so that everyone was clear about the details of the job instead of trying to handle everything over the phone. Overall the work wasn't great, but it was good, and the price was much much less than the competing quote we got from someone else. I feel like we got what we paid for.
Description of Work: Paint Pros gave us a free estimate, removed wallpaper from a bedroom, textured and primed a hallway and four bedrooms, and primed a bathroom.

Not a good experience this contractor was unwilling to provide a detailed estimate with the costs for material and labor broken down. The unwillingness to be transparent with his costs made me feel his prices were likely inflated.I found this position to be unprofessional for a commerical painter.
Description of Work: Steve didn't respond to my voicemail right away. It took 1 1/2 days. When I decribed the job with was to paint a single family rental home 3 bdrm/2 baths interior/exterior. He sounded confident about doing the job until I requested a written detailed estimate breaking out materials, labor costs etc. Steve informed me he would not break out his costs on an estimate period. This response raised a red flag with me because any vendor that refuses to provide a detailed estimate is likely fudging the pricing and more than likely will be providing inflated pricing.Professionals are confident with their pricing models and have no problem with transparency. I decided to go with a professional firm open to providing transparent estimates.

The crew got started right away cleaning the wood siding and decks. Then they sanded any rough spots. They applied the Sikkens Wood Sealer. We kept adding additions onto the house like new railings, a lower deck and a garage that they also sealed. We will be sure and use Ozark Wood Care again when it is time for maintance.
Description of Work: Steve and his crew did an amazing job! (Our home is the White River Cabin restoration on their website). The 7 year old wood siding and decks were black from mold and mildew when we purchased the house. His crew was able to clean it and sealed and brought back to looking new again. They were able to get in there and get the work done, even with all of the other contractors working at the same time. I just wish they would include window washing in their bid.
