Mauldin's took 12 days during stifling heat...claimed to be waiting on a part to come in which had been ordered, and eventually admitted that the part was not faulty, afterall. Loose wires needed to be reconnected according to the technician who fixed it. I subsequently received a bill for $378.07 for this pathetic and fraudulent service. The bill was not itemized, just simply "parts and labor". Since no parts were replaced or repaired, I'm can only assume that their labor charge is approximately $190.00 per hour and that they make no apology for misleading a customer in order to buy time, keeping us in the dark, and overcharging us for labor, while we waited 12 days for service. I will not call them again, and would suggest to others to utilize a more hones and reputable contractor when the A/C needs servicing. These guys will leave you waiting, not return phone calls overcharge you and "order" parts that aren't needed in the first place.
Description of Work: Mauldin's was called on 5/31/11 to service our upstairs air conditioner unit which was blowing, but not cooling. We assumed that the unit need to be charged with freon. Four of our bedrooms are located upstairs. It was over 95 degrees everyday for approximately 3 weeks during this period of time, and I was recuperating from a serious car accident. It took them 3 days to come out. On the first day, a very worn out looking service technician spent about 30 minutes here, and mentioned before he left that the "downstairs control panel' was out. He stated that the freon was functional and did not need to be charged. I reminded him that the problem was with the UPSTAIRS unit. He insisted that the control panel that was out was in the unit marked "downstairs". He said he would have to order the part, and would call us regarding the cost the following day. We did not hear from anyone for at least a week. Finally, both my husband and I were calling asking for a firm date which we could expect someone to return and complete the repair. No return calls again. On 6/10, a different technician came out and stated that the only problem was loose wires. He confirmed that the original diagnosis was erroneous--the problem was not with the control panel..just some "loose wires". He left and the unit was functional.

They had a slow response to fix the work. They doubled invoiced. After pay the first bill they sent another for same work a few months later. I had to send them a reference of the already paid charges three different times. I finally had to go there in person twice and told them if I had to do this one more time I was going to send them an invoice for my time and postage.
