Mr. Collins is a very nice and personable man. He was very prompt in providing a quote and leaving a brouchure to look at. It did take quite a bit of time to get the job started as he had several projects before ours. Once he started however the job did not take long at all. There were a few roofing issues that my spouse thought should have been completed better.

Generally speaking, the experience was positive. They were responsive when contacted by phone and the pricing was competitive. I had contacted two well-reviewed companies in Little Rock first because I wanted the job done right, but one of them failed to submit a bid and the other came in high, and never worked with our insurance adjuster to justify the amount quoted (despite a professed willingness to do so), so in the end both of the Little Rock firms highly rated on here did not meet our needs. My only qualm with Collins has to do with the knowledge and experience level of the very young estimator/supervisor who came out; if I remember correctly, he was the 20-something year old son of the owner, and was not able to help much with questions I had about the pros and cons of sticking with and quot;whirlybirdand quot;-style venting vs. ridge vents. In fact, when we expressed a desire to go with a ridge vent, which he was able to accommodate, his recommendation was to do so in addition to keeping the whirlybirds. I'm no contractor, but I've watched enough and quot;Holmes on Holmesand quot; and DIY-type TV shows to know that the two systems would compete with each other, and not vent our attic properly. This meant I basically had to decide and then tell him how we wanted it done, which was not what I was hoping for when I asked for a professional opinion. (We went with the ridge venting.) Given our choice, I would have liked Collins to have shown some interest in our soffit venting--no effort to check that and ensure adequate flow--which was something one of the Little Rock companies pledged to do as a matter of course (but for a high price beyond our insurance coverage.) Despite these caveats, the crew that came out made short work of the job in less than a day, and did a solid job of cleaning up (though we did find a few roofing nails and a shingle scrap or two in the bushes in the days and weeks that followed). It's hard for me to assess the quality of the work (and I admit to wondering whether and wishing that they might have screwed down some decking that may have been warped slightly), but they certainly didn't do shoddy work nor did they try to overcharge for decking nor exceed their estimate. I have not contacted them since, so have no idea how responsive they would (or wouldn't be) to any problems. All in all I might have preferred to have hired one of the Little Rock outfits, both of which gave very professional pitches, but when neither of those companies ultimately followed up in earnest, I was glad I could get what really was a fairly straightforward job done quickly with Collins. I would consider using them again.

They did a good job and they did it quickly. We had some leaking inside our garage and they recommended someone to come out and do that. The representative of Collins was very upfront and he told us all the details and got all the permissions in the beginning. There were no surprises about the cost later. They did it on time and it wasn't delayed in any way.
