Standfill Floor Company, Inc.

This is a long established family business. The original work was done by the present owner's father and is still beautiful. I consulted David Stanfill (present owner) in the summer of 2016, on a hardwood floor in a rental property I own, which had some tenant damage. He is very knowledgeable and gave a fair estimate for refinishing the wood floors. I could not have the work done then because a new tenant was about to move in but plan to have him do it when the currency tenancy ends. I also plan on extending the hardwood flooring in my home and would definitely use this company again.

My experience was very good. He was very professional. He is a perfectionist. He does very good work. He cleans after he is done. We just had great success with his work. A real estate broker actually referred him. I think he was in line with everyone else.

The afternoon of my first phone call Mr Standfill was preoccupied with driving but took my information. He returned my call the next morning and was very friendly but couldn't actually remember our particular circumstance, which was O.K. considering I called him while he was driving. When he called back the next morning, he was on his way to a job site driving toward our direction, and was more than happy to come by and give an estimate. He arrived at my home within a few minutes and walked back and forth measuring and writing not really talking very much. After the figuring he did stay a reasonable amount of time talking and answering questions. However our relationship with Mr. Stanfill didn't seem to be mixing 50/50 it was more he knew what we wanted and thats what we were signing onto. I don't doubt that he know his type of woods and finishes but for the money, I needed to feel he would be as devoted in pulling as much beauty out of the job as we would have tried to do. Mr. Stanfill didn't do e-mail bids but however did not delay sending a written bid by US Postal within a couple of business days. I needed approximately 850 sq. ft of sanding, staining and sealing. This 850' area contained approx. 250 sq ft of patching and relacing a 1&1/2" wide solid red oak (select or better). Mr. Stanfill said he would be on the worksite and leading the work in process with at least one assistant. The bid was for destruction / removal / installation / sanding / staining / and sealing. I understood my 85 year old home floors that he was relacing into would not be the new tight joints of a new construction, but wanted to have the putty to fill as many lose joints and nail holes within reason. Mr Stanfill did not say he wouldn't use a wood filler but he said it would fail over time with the movement of the flooring. All in all it was the price of the estimate that made us not use Mr. Stanfill. But if we would have used him it would have started out and seemed probably to stay a purely business relationship without much homeowner interraction.

He and his crew did a beautiful job. They used high quality materials and paid careful attention to detail. Throughout the process they were responsive to our requests and asked questions to be clear on what we wanted. They gave us options and made smart recommendations. They put on the last layer of finish while we were out of town. When we returned we saw there was a problem with bubbling in each room. We called that day (Sunday) and Monday the crew came and redid the top surface in all rooms. Their attitude was, the job won't be done until you're completely satisfied. And we are: The floors are exquisite!

I was very happy with the service done by Standfill Floor Company. They did high quality work. They have done other rooms in my house also. I was very impressed by how nice the floors look. They are a professional company. I am not sure of the price but they are very fair.
