I will call on him again to do additional work. There was a slight issue in contacting Davis Plumbing using the messaging through Angie's List. They did not receive my message. I called this morning and was scheduled right away. A+++
Description of Work: Snaked a rooftop vent and made sure the washing machine did not overflow.

 + 0 morePlumber was very polite, efficient, and knowledgeable. Identified the issue and possible alternative issues immediately. Replaced the thermocouple quickly and we have hot water again! Although we ended up going through our home warranty company and only paying the $75 service charge through them, it would have been worth more to go through Davis.

Also asked him to give me an estimate on the cost to bring a gas line to the kitchen to be able to replace a glass top electric stove with a gas stove. He looked around, took some pictures, gave me a ball park estimate, but also said he had to go back and do some calculating to see if the incoming gas line was big enough to accommodate that added usage. Said he'd get back to me in a couple days. This was in January. Never heard back. Repeated attempts to contact them have not been answered except one, where I was told I'd get a call but never did. Time to move on, apparently they're too busy for a job like this. Would have at least expected them to tell me they were too busy rather than ignore me.
Description of Work: Had plumber come out to hook up a some gas logs in a ventless gas fireplace.

They came out on a Saturday night and they were willing to find the problem before they left. It was freezing cold outside. They were really efficient, but I was a little shocked by the sticker price.

 + -1 moreMy phone call was quickly answered, a service call scheduled. Jon called a short time before the scheduled appointment to let us know he was on the way. Arrived promptly identified the problem quickly. He had a replacement model disposal on the truck so he was able to install the new disposal immediately. He was professional, neat, and friendly. Price was fair. I will definitely call Davis again for future plumbing problems.
Description of Work: Determined what was leaking under the sink -- garbage disposal was cracked. Replaced and installed new disposal.

 + 0 moreWe were happy with the service that we received. They were really good about making the appointment, getting back to us, and fitting us in ASAP. They arrived when they were supposed to on both visits. They performed the work, cleaned up after themselves and were courteous and professional. We thought the cost was fine and were happy when there was no charge for our follow up visit. We would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: We had water overflowing in our downstairs and the plumber cleared a clog in the main pipe. It happened a second time a few days later and the plumber came back and re-checked things. We found out that water was backing up from the sewer and it was a problem with the city's pipes not ours. (The city has since fixed it.) The plumber fixed something on our washing machine and there was no charge for the follow up visit.

John was very professional and was able to quickly diagnose my issues. Unfortunately, my garbage disposal was beyond repair as it was 12 years old, but John replaced it quickly for a reasonable price. I would use them again in the future.

He was happy to show me the steps taken to make the replacement, so I was familiar with it and could do the same thing in the future if needed. My biggest plus to the service was he called about 30 minutes prior to the appointment to say he was running about 20 minutes behind. This was great and very much appreciated. So I wasn't wondering when he was going to show up after scheduled time. He then showed up as he figured. Very happy with service and world recommend anyone give them a chance to assist you....

Description of Work: Note: The app. cost listed is for the initial service call and a later follow-up for a different issue for which a part had been ordered. First contact by phone was very good and the plumber arrived on schedule after calling us to let us know he was on his way. We had 2 outside faucets replaced and had him check an ongoing hot water issue our previous plumbing company had been unable to figure out. Cost was a fixed per-faucet price and was reasonable, especially considering the plumber spent time talking with us, checking over the situation, and doing all associated work with the installations and was finished in less time than the company we had previously used spent in installing just one outside faucet....and at a cheaper cost. The plumber consulted with his foreman via phone in trying to diagnose our hot water issue and they came up with a possible solution and a part was ordered for our hot water heater with the assurance that if it did not fix the problem they would continue to pursue the problem until it was fixed. That is usually a red flag meaning much more work and expense but when the part came in we were notified, the installation was done quickly at a very reasonable cost, and the problem another company couldn't solve in multiple service calls was fixed.
