Banks Chimney Service

Banks Chimney service did some work for me and did $300.00 worth of damage to my one month old roof... they said they would pay for the damage to be fixed But they will not pay.. I had to find a roofer and I paid $300.00 for the repairs to my roof, that Banks damaged. . Mr. banks had to borrow tools from me to do the job, ( hammer, Tape measure, Screwdriver, metal saw).. Asked me to help him because his helper girl was not strong enough to do the job. Charged me $120 per hour, and the first time I lit up my fireplace the house filled with smoke because Banks Chimney Service put a hole in my new liner. so I had to get the liner fixed again.. BEWARE !!!!!!!!!!

Trey Banks said he would pay for the roof to be fixed, but as soon as my check cleared he quit communicating with me.. he will not answer my calls or return them. Trey Banks of Banks Chimney Service had to borrow tools from me to do the job, and also asked me to help him because the little girl he brought to help him was not strong enough...(Very Unprofessional)......he also pushed my stove around on my stone fireplace and scratched up the stones... They did not even attempt to clean up the messes they made inside and outside the house.. The job took Trey 6 hours , another chimney service said it was a 2 to 3 hour job at most... Asked me to loan them tools to do the job,(tape measure hammer cutting wheel) asked me to help him, ruined parts of my new roof, scratched up my stone & left a big mess and still charged me $120.00 per hour.... and will not make it right... I am sorry he came to my house... BEWARE of Banks Chimney Service!!!!! My next step is the Better Business Bureau and Small Claims Court

He kept making excuses why he didn't come. When he did come he said the 'manf' made the wrong cap because it was a single cap, not the agreed upon double cap. (Later we found out it was off the shelf from a big box store and not custom at all). The damper plate was the wrong size and had to be altered to install. Said the chimney would be waterproof. Next day it rained and he was asked to come back and honor his bid of double chimney cap. He said he would honor it which was in January 2014. He never came back, never honored the bid and we had to put a rubber tub in fireplace to catch all the rain that poured in every time it rained. He constantly said he would come back but always made excuses why he didn't come. After several months he said he needed extra money because he had the correct double cap made and needed an additional 350.00. We told him he had already been paid and needed to finish the job. He refused to pick up new cap from people that made it. He refused to pay them for the cap they made. We communicated via text and phone from December 2013 until May 2014 and he never came back to fix the job. We went directly to the person that made the new cap and paid him to install it. Mr. Banks is a charming young man but he is not professional and you cannot trust him to do the job he says he is going to do. For over 5 months It rained in our fireplace, buckled the hearth and could have damaged our beautiful 1930's original hardwood floors. Please use caution when attempting to work with this man.

Mr. Banks arrived on time and performed his services in a professional manner. He explained in detail the condition of the entire system and recommended proper service intervals. We will be using him in the future.
